This was our first time coming here and the wife wanted to try it based on the reviews. We visited this evening for some takeout. We got the Taro slushee, thai tea with boba, and Milk Tea with boba. All the drinks were pretty good but I didn't care too much for the boba. Boba is always hot or miss at tea places. You either like how they make it or you don't. For food we tried the fried tofu, fried popcorn shrimp, chow mein, and fried squid. This came out to about 50 bucks. Portions were small for the price you are paying n my opinion. However we had to feed a bunch a of hungry kids so what can you do. The fried food was light and not too heavy. The battery was also golden brown and light. Chow Mein was a bit oily but it included chicken, egg, and shrimp. The kids and the wife liked it. Overall a good spot in Hesperia for tea and a small bite to eat. You really notice just how privileged you are when you come from an area with good boba drinks opening just blocks from one another to an area that has ... subpar boba at best. So when I saw on Yelp that Honeymoon Tea Bar opened up in Hesperia, I was a little wary - but in the end, my desperateness for good boba in the IE won me over. This boba shop is located next to Hesperia's district building, in the same plaza as Samurai Sushi. Parking is not an issue at all - the storefront is decent sized, with bright yellow walls to match the bumble bee icon. There were maybe about 4 to 5 tables inside along with some decorations. The shop does offer Wi-Fi along with a clean bathroom, so this is great for students who want to study. So before I actually went to the store, I checked out the menu online. The drinks actually looked pretty legit and similar to the ones at the boba shops in the 626 area. They even had cheese foam as a topping, which pretty much let me know that at least the owners know what's "in" right now. The menu isn't too extensive - they have fruit teas, smoothies, fresh teas, milk teas, coffee, and some special drinks. They also have appetizers and fried rice, but seem to be building up their food menu slowly. They are still working out the kinks, as we tried to order the Taiwanese sausage, which was stated on the menu at $1.55, but came out to be $4.55 - apparently the price printed on their menu is not correct. They also did not have the prices of toppings on their menu, so hopefully that gets added soon. Ended up just going with one of my go-to drinks - the honey green milk tea with boba ($3.95 plus $0.50 for boba). I upgraded to the larger size (from 24 oz to 28 oz) for an additional $0.50; I was also able to adjust sugar and ice level, which I appreciated. So the large sized drinks come out in a very unique looking cup. I don't think I've ever seen such a long and narrow cup before. I don't know if it's really worth it to upgrade for fifty cents more from a regular to large, but I did compare the size of that large cup to the cups at 7 Leaves, and you do get a little more to drink in Honeymoon's large sized cups. And that first sip, I was super relieved that the tea was actually on par with some of the better boba shops in the SGV area (so that is saying something about their quality of drinks). The tea was refreshing and not too sweet; I did feel like the milk flavor was a little muted, but that might have been because everything served here is organic, so possibly the quality of milk and tea is different from what I'm used to drinking. The boba was cooked on point - super chewy; the only thing that was lacking was the flavor of the boba. There was no honey flavor at all, so all I got was the texture. We also ordered popcorn chicken ($6.50); no adjustments for level of spiciness nor was there any plum powder sprinkled on top. But we did get a nice amount of chicken fried with basil leaves. Unfortunately the chicken was a bit lacking though. Some of the chicken pieces tasted old and had an off scent to the meat, making us believe that maybe they were frozen for too long or the meat isn't fresh. This was a little off-putting and kept us from enjoying the appetizer. tl;dr - I can really say that Honeymoon Tea Bar seems to offer legit boba and tea drinks in the IE. The taste of the drink that I ordered was pretty good, and definitely fulfilled my boba craving. And since there's pretty much nothing to compare it to, I will have to say that Honeymoon is the best tea bar in the area. I do want to come back and try out some other drinks in the near future. So this new tea bar pops up in my neighborhood and I'm beyond thrilled! I went in a few days after they opened and whenever I go to a tea bar I am rating them based on Taro Milk Tea. I have gone to so many and you can tell the others use powdered milk. Not this place! They made me one of the best Taro milk teas I have ever had!! My husband got the coconut milk tea and it was delicious. It even had the taste of almonds in it. It's a very small cozy space but it is very delicious. I know it will last here. I am going back to try the food as well. I did forget to mention the sizes and prices are great. Starting at 3.50 and the cups are big and of great quality. I have been here multiple times and the drinks are pretty much always good and I have had multiple drinks including their fruit teas and milk teas such as the Coconut Milk Tea, Thai Cloud, Galaxy Tea, Rose Milk Tea, Jasmine Milk Green Tea, Royal Milk Tea, Wintermelon Milk Tea (their best tea in my opinion), and so on. My only two complaints are that the boba often lacks flavor so they should consider reworking their boba recipe, and that they charge to add extra sugar or sweetness level when it is commonplace at other boba places for that to be a free add on. I've also had the food here like the Kimchi Fried Rice and Fried Popcorn Shrimp and they were really flavorful as well! Most of the time the service is pretty good as well except a few times when a new employee is being trained and doesn't really know what they're doing, but it's usually understandable. I've never had a hard or uncooked boba here, they are always spot on. I hate my drinks super sweet so being able to do 25%, 50%, or 75% sweetness is really nice. My go to beverage is the Royal Milk Tea. It has a creamy Milk tea taste with a brown sugar additive that goes so well with boba. I got a strawberry banana smoothie with extra boba. The strawberry part of the drink I think is what ruined it it was like a strawberry jam super sweet. The drink itself was $5.25 it was the pretty big and then there's an even bigger size. They charge .65 for boba and if you want extra boba .65 more.
