The food went right through all of us on the way home, unfortunately. The food was decent. We were starving and thought this place would be good, but honestly should've went somewhere else. The bathrooms were not clean, and we had to scavenge for toilet paper. The soap was so watered down, had to use almost half the bottle to get enough soap. The food was not labeled at buffet, so we had to use our best guess on what everything was. My fiancé is a vegetarian so he had no way of knowing if something had meat or tofu in a dish. Probably didn't have tofu, so not a great place for vegetarians. The employees were friendly but they hover over you while you eat and are quick to take your plate off your table, presumably to get you out faster. read more

Arrived at around 6:00 p.m. on a Tuesday night to celebrate my wife's birthday. We were greeted by the friendly staff. All food selections were delicious! The staff even prepared a dessert and fruit platter for the birthday celebrant. They even sang happy birthday to the celebrant! Great food, awesome staff, and a night to remember! Came in and sat down, the table was filthy. Asked the gentleman at the register to see about cleaning the table. He spoke to a waitress (unknown what he said- language barrier) and she just laughed and walked away. He finally walked over and picked up a dry napkins and wiped the table, smearing the mess and walked away. In the times of Covid I had my own wipes and wiped the table on my own. Went through 3 sets of silverware before I got a set that didn't have food still on them. If this is how they clean during a pandemic, imagine how they clean in normal times. I don't know when it all started, but I've always associated buffet with happiness. Buffet was the happening place to be, the place we go to celebrate, when it is a big deal. I guess it is because growing up, going to a buffet was a rare event, saved for special occasions. I didn't realize this is how I felt until I walked through the doors of Hong Kong Buffet. The absence of all that made me contrastingly sad. Now, don't get me wrong, this is no dive by any means. There is all the evidence that it tries to be respectable. The place is clean, no bugs flying about the food. The waitresses were attentive, clearing the plates as soon as you are done. They try, they really did. I suppose that's what makes it kind of sad. It was like visiting this aunt whom you thought was cool growing up, only now time has flown by, and she became this kindly woman who feeds you cookie from a tin can... Who kept everything in tin cans... Who now tries too hard... As I sat there I felt sorry... Sorry for the emptiness that seems to pervade this place that seemed to have felt short of its ambition. Sorry that I can't seem to write kinder words about its food, or the lack thereof in variety. People still come to this place... But I feel like secretly, we know it could have been better. I can hear the echo of Marlon Brando reciting his famous line, "I could have been better, I could have been a contender" as we slowly eat our emotions away. Sigh. Maybe Gordan Ramsey would like this place. It has the potential for a great comeback. For now... I eat, hastily pay the bills, looking forward to see it getting smaller in my review mirror. As a local, you either have to drive 15 minutes here or there to get to the closest Chinese buffet. The buffet definitely does not have as many options as other buffets around the area and food seems to run out rather quickly in the evening (around 7.) I come here due to convenience, but it's definitely nothing to rave about. read more

Selection of buffet was sad, I don't come to a chinese place and want to see pizza, fries, and cheese muscles. The cantaloupe was soggy and way over ripe. The won ton soup WORST I've ever had. Noodles were so soggy and broth was watered down. Didn't finish eating most of what was tried. White rice was good, how can you ruin that tho thank god. Didn't like that waitresses houvered while we ate. Over priced for a crappy buffet, won't return here and won't recommend it either. For this small town I'm happy to have some decent Chinese food where you can just come in and out the door. I know they might have A little selection of dishes but the price is reasonable than other Chinese take out. And it's empty because it's located in a dead plaza. read more

So happy that its opened again with covid having forced it to close for eat-in dining for several months. Even when they were closed the take-out was very good. I have been to 20+ different buffets in my lifetime and this was without a doubt, the worst buffet that I have ever been to. The selection was lousy, the food that was there was very blah, and the atmosphere was of crying and screaming children. The food is the equivalent to what you get in a mall food court that sits under a heat lamp, I even ordered from the menu instead of the buffet and assumed the food would be fresher. My brother and sister and my nephew and niece just visited Hong Kong Buffet and my brother and sister are both gourmet cooks extremely knowledgeable on all type of foods and I have with my brother and sister traveled the world and have had great foods. Hong Kong buffet was such a delight the foods were fresh and plentiful and the service was excellent and the price $7 lunch and $10 dinner is outstanding. We have been to plenty of buffets and odd this is lo mein is generally dry and lousy and on the way to this buffet I was telling my sister all chinese buffets have lousy lo mein but NOT Hong Kong Buffet was very juicy and my neice took a carry out only $4.99 lb. We well be back this dinner was on a Monday night and one would think buffet not as good as busier nights but not at Hong Kong Buffet. Absolute delight! read more

All I can say is that I hope I don't die from the food I ate at this place tonight...the mussels, crab legs, and chicken all tasted old and were disgusting. The mussels had a foul fishy odor to them and they tried masking it by adding cheese on top. Not one thing from this place was fresh.
