Service is excellent and they maintain a clean establishment. Staff is very friendly and move with speed and alertness. Line seem long but love very fast. Affordable and reasonable prices. If you're a seafood lover, you're going to love this place. And if you don't eat fish or seafood, there's lots here for you too. This is obviously a big birthday destination place, as we heard the happy birthday song so many times, we joked they should just keep playing it on a loop. The place is huge but nicely decorated. There were lots of large tables and lots of happy people. Drinks are included, and they offer a senior discount as well. For $38.99, everything is included, except tipping your waiter, and of course, tax. It's an incredible deal as you'll find unlimited Maine lobster, Maryland hardshell crabs, stone crabs, Dungeness crab, and Alaskan snow crab, amongst other seafood choices. We thought we chose an off time to go, but it was still crazy busy in there. Our friendly waiter informed us that it was not busy, as lines can go out the door. So plan accordingly and check it out. It's an hour drive from where we live, but it was worth the trip.

Typically I'm not one for buffets, but my husband raved so much about this place I figured I'd give it a try for lunch. The restaurant is very clean and there is ample parking out front. There is so much food to choose from. Plenty of Asian and American dishes coupled with every kind of seafood one could ask for. The fruit was fresh. On the down side, I like my food piping hot and most of it was warm at best. I would definitely come back with my boys who will surely eat enough to ensure I am making the most of the buffet. I was stuffed with 10 minutes of sitting down to eat.

We went there this weekend paid $38.99 per person for all-day-dinner price. With this price the buffet items are crazy good. Unlimited lobster, lobster sashimi, scallop sashimi, sweet shrimp sashimi, abalone, ox tail, lamp chop, blue crab, Peking duck, snow crab leg, grouper, soft shell crab, frog legs, you name it. Soft drinks, fruit tea drinks, milk tea, Japanese Ramune and some other canned drinks are all included in the price. This restaurant is incredibly big, hosting hundreds of people and the food supply never runs out during my entire time at there. Service is great! Every time I finished my dish and went for another round, waitress will take the empty dishes away before I return. The place was full of people. A lot of birthday celebrations here. It was relaxing and lively. Seats fill up quickly before reaching 5:00 PM on Saturday. You may want to consider being there a bit early.

Solid buffet in the Philadelphia area! The atmosphere: The restaurant is very large and spacious with plenty of seating, which makes it great for both small and large parties. During peak times, it can get pretty busy, so expect to weave through crowds as people move around the buffet area. The food: The selection is impressive and truly has something for everyone, including dim sum, seafood, classic Chinese dishes, roast duck, sushi, and more. I was especially impressed by the quality of the seafood. My favorite dish was the garlic lobster tails. The sushi was also very fresh, and I liked that there were plenty of condiments available to pair with different items. The service: Service was attentive and efficient. Even with our large party, the staff was organized and made sure we were seated comfortably in a good area.

I haven't been to an all-you-can-eat buffet in years, and this one was definitely a 10/10! If you're planning to go on the weekend for dinner, try to arrive early the line gets packed, and wait times can run anywhere from 45 minutes to an hour. They had everything you could think of: seafood, soul food, Chinese food, and unlimited desserts. The customer service was excellent too. Our server was incredibly attentive clearing the table quickly and keeping drinks refilled. That level of care really stood out, and I happily tipped a little extra. Women empowerment goes a long way! I'll definitely be back next time I'm in Philly.

Royal Buffet is a solid choice if you're craving a seafood-heavy buffet at a fair price. The standout is definitely the unlimited whole lobsters--they were restocked often, served hot, and came with melted butter on the side. There's also a big selection of seafood including sashimi, crab legs, fried soft-shell crab, and grilled items. Some of the meats at the grill station were a bit overcooked and tougher than I'd prefer, but the variety and portion sizes make up for it. Drinks were included in the price, which is a nice bonus compared to buffets that charge separately. Desserts were better than expected--the ice cream bar with chocolate-coated pops was especially good. The dining area is clean, modern, and spacious, and the staff clears plates quickly. Price: $38.99 per person Senior Discount: $5 off Drinks: Included Best for: Seafood lovers, especially those here for lobster Overall, a great value--come hungry.

I recently visited Royal Buffet and Grill and overall had a good experience. Most of the food was decent, and a few dishes were genuinely delicious. The coconut shrimp, sticky rice, and the whole lobster and soft shell crabs, stood out the most. They were fresh, flavorful, and felt a step above the usual buffet standard. The sushi was fresh as well. Not everything was perfect. The oxtail was tough, and a few items would have been much better if they were served hotter. Many dishes were warm rather than hot, like the lamb chops, shrimps on skewers, wings and crab cakes, etc. which took away from the flavor. Dessert was the typical buffet selection. Nothing memorable, but everything was fresh. I have a sensitive stomach, so I can usually tell when something is off, and everything here seemed clean and handled well. The buffet does get crowded around dinner time, so going earlier can make the experience smoother. One thing they do well is clearing plates. They remove them quickly once you set them aside, which keeps the table tidy. Considering the size of the place and volume they did do a decent job with overall maintenance. Back to the food...They offer several soup options, including lobster bisque, and a good variety of juices that were not too sweet. Overall, it is a solid buffet with plenty of good choices. A few temperature issues kept it from being perfect, but I would recommend.

The three of us came here for the unlimited seafood. They offer unlimited bubble tea in different flavors, unlimited lobster, and an amazing variety of seafood. They also have a Chinese buffet and a grill area with all kinds of food. And wow, it exceeded my expectations! I loved the sushi variety, the lobster, and the salmon sashimi. There wasn't anything I tried that I didn't like.

Royal Buffet--it's the définition of holiday feast, period! It's super crowded today but staff are doing a fantastic job of staying on top of everything.

I was craving some home cooked Chinese meal and this place did not disappoint and it was one of the best Chinese buffet I had in a while with great quality seafood. I came here with Mom and we both requested we need to come there again for round two. If we come to a Chinese buffet two days in a row that's how is you how good it is. We are actually visiting from California and it's one of the best Chinese seafood buffet I had in the East Coast. . When you walk into the restaurant they actually greet you and they ask you how many people and if there's any seniors. And then we go to the front of the line and they will take you to your seat. . For senior price it is $33.99 and a regular adult will be $38.99 and this is for the dinner buffet on a Saturday and Sunday which is all day only. I came here around 5:00 p.m. on a Sunday and there was no wait. Around 6:00 p.m. there is about 50 to 75 people winning outside so I recommend coming in earlier to avoid the wait line. . The highlights I really like is they have a whole steam lobster. Also they have the ginger scallion stir fry Lobster which was so tender and so fresh and so flavorful. They even have oxtail as well and those were amazing and they were oxtails stew. I also like how they have fresh steam sea bass it was also where Ginger and scallion and it was very flavorful and the fish was tender I had a big plate of that. They also have your small clams to big clams and even snails and crab legs they got the cold crab leg and hot crab leg as well. They even have your cold Lobster Claw as well. They have your Steam butter mussels. . I really like their pork veggie potstickers which was very tender and I do like the flavor of the meat inside. . There are soup selection is really great I do like the crab with fish Maw soup. Also they got this herbal chicken soup which was amazing and authentic. They even have your white fungus soup which was amazing and is great for cold weather. . So the buffet line is one straight line it is crazy because there's a lot of people coming from behind left and right so just be careful and if you are claustrophobic which might be a little issue. . If you're looking for a good Chinese buffet with good quality and cooking with love this is the place to go to the food is amazing and tasted so good that we came here two days in a row. I recommend coming here earlier before 6:00 p.m. to avoid the dinner crowd. . Also did you have your Boba milk cheese to your soft drinks in a bottle like peach tea and orange honey tea and Etc. . Overall this is a Chinese buffet that I am looking forward to and I would come back again when I'm visiting. Mind you not I was coming here two days in a row and driving one hour away from Atlantic City and it was so worth the drive just to eat here. If Mama asked me to come back here the second day you know what's up. Hope this helps and thanks for reading and have a yelptastic day.

This place has a great concept the lobster unlimited is the best!!!! The food all had that ginger water flavor for the Asian flare. Lots to choose from. Lamb were good and a surprise. The beef short rib flavor of the grill was delicious but the meat was way too rubbery. I think we went too late 8pm. Try early for fresher food. An array of selections..crabs.. oysters..pork chops.. Mussels.. frog legs.. Pizza.. chicken.. you will be impressed!!!

The restaurant presented an extensive menu of culinary offerings. The cleanliness of the establishment, including the restroom and dining area, was exceptional, surpassing any Asian restaurant I have visited. I was pleasantly surprised to find that lobster and crabs were available on the lunch menu, as these are typically reserved for dinner. One minor concern I have is that the food was not warm. Despite being placed in heaters, everything remained cold. As I conclude my review, I must mention an incident that occurred today. This incident does not reflect the restaurant's overall quality but rather our waitress. I only used my Cash App card at the restaurant today, and I received a charge for parking $60.99 two hours later. The card had not been out of my physical possession at the time except today when the waitress took it.

Ask the Community - Royal Buffet and Grill

Is this one of those places that put the crab legs out, and two people stand there and take everything so no one else gets any until next round?

They manage to keep the trays filled to the hilt most of the time, at least during the meal hours. The location is a former Toys R Us, so the space is enormous.

    Do they accommodate groups?

    Yes they do

Do you really have whole lobster?

They have whole lobster with claws. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qqZFneZNfiU

    Is it byob?

It was not BYOB when I was there. You would have to call and ask them.

Is the lunch menus the same as dinner?

Yes.. I think so , properly more

    Do they take reservations?

Yes, per their social media pages. Not sure if it's only during certain events (i.e., All You Can Eat Lobster) or if you have a large party of guests.

Do they have blue crabs and are they seasoned well?

They do but it's kinda deep fried like soft shell crabs

I was there on a Tuesday, and they had lobster. I was there a week and a half before on a Saturday or Sunday, and there was no lobster. Anyone know if/when they have lobster?

You can call in advance. There are various reasons from the catches/availabilities/shipments. Best to call on day of to make sure.

Let me tell y'all something…read more.. I came to Sampan tonight as a party of one, and apparently being alone is the restaurant equivalent of showing up to a cookout without bringing a side dish. Now before I start, let me say this: I'm a huge fan of the owner. Matter of fact, I used to work for him part-time years ago. So writing this review feels like having to tell your favorite aunt that her potato salad got raisins in it. Nobody wants to do it, but the truth is the truth. The night started with them seating me at the prep station bar in the corner. Cool. No problem. I like my peace. I like my solitude. I like pretending I'm a food critic with important opinions. What I don't like is sitting there so long waiting for service that I started considering applying for a job. Nobody greeted me. Nobody checked on me. Nobody even looked concerned that I was aging in real time. When someone finally came over, my place setting wasn't complete. No napkin. No proper setup. Just vibes and uncertainty. I decided to do the chef's tasting because I wanted the full experience. Big mistake. That tasting menu moved faster than a church announcement after the pastor says, "We're running out of time." My server never asked if I'd been there before. Never explained anything. Never guided me through the menu. He was talking so fast I felt like I was taking the SATs. The ceviche was okay. Not bad. Not great. It was there. The cheesesteak bao had less flavor than the hold music at PECO. And here's where things got ridiculous. The bao was greasy enough to lubricate a transmission, and I realized I didn't even have a napkin. Now I'm sitting there looking like I just changed the oil in my car. So I had to flag down the host and ask for a napkin. At this point, I'm wondering if I'm on a hidden-camera show. The rest of the tasting menu showed up one plate at a time, and honestly, most of it was so forgettable I can't remember if I ate it or imagined it. But then... Like an angel descending from heaven... That bronzino arrived. Baby. Listen. That bronzino and those string beans saved the entire evening. That fish walked in like Martin rescuing Gina from another bad decision. Perfectly cooked. Flavorful. Beautiful. For a brief moment, I thought Sampan had turned this thing around. The pork chop was pretty good too. Then the kimchi fried rice came out and said, "Not so fast." Now I've had this dish before, and I know what it's supposed to taste like. Tonight? Absolutely not. I took one bite and immediately started looking around for the version I ordered. It was so disappointing I sent it back. And when dessert time came, I was emotionally unavailable. I declined. Respectfully. I was done. Look, maybe they had an off night. Maybe the staff was overwhelmed. Maybe dining solo just isn't their thing. I don't know. What I do know is that one heroic bronzino shouldn't have to carry an entire restaurant on its back like LeBron in Cleveland. The fish did everything it could. It fought hard. It deserved better teammates. Unfortunately, one MVP performance couldn't save the game. For me, this is probably my last visit.

We had dinner reservations for 7:45 but got there two hours early because we really wanted to try out their happy hour. Huge selection of food for happy hour and delicious drinks. We waited an hour but were sat and immediately cancelled our dinner reservations because we knew it was about to go down. Fair warning - if you're approaching 40 like us, it's dark, it's loud, and you're sitting on top of people. It will be worth it. We had the double knot roll, spicy tuna roll, BAO, and some drinks. All 10/10. But the real star is the grilled meats. Specifically the scallion ribeye. We tried to take pictures of all of it but it was literally too dark in the restaurant. I would go back and just order ribeye skewers for the entire happy hour. They don't take happy hour reservations but get there early. It's the best.

We sat in a cozy corner booth and could easily hear each other although we could not read the menu or clearly see what we were eating the lighting is so dim (and consistent with the gothic theme). Now onto the food. We ordered 9 dishes (waiter suggested 8) and it was way too much for us and I'm a big eater! Edamame dumplings - 4/5, may be just me, but I don't really enjoy mushy fillings to my dumplings. The broth they came in was amazing though Tuna rice cracker - 4/5, not really a cracker, more like a crunchy mini loaf of rice topped with tuna and a slice of jalapeno - delicious and much more filling than what I was expecting. I only gave a 4 instead of 5/5 for taste because of the unexpected presentation of the "cracker" Shishito pepper small plate - 5*/5 outstanding! I could eat these all day they were so delicious. I'm not sure how they flavor these or what light crunchy sprinkles were on top of this very generous portion of peppers (I would estimate maybe 30 peppers?) I'd go back just for this dish Black cod fried rice - 3/5, I should know better that a miso black cod will be somewhat fishy, and with it spread in chunks throughout the fried rice I'd say this was my least favorite dish. Crispy brussels sprouts - 4/5, a solid offering, not much to write home about Crispy tofu - 3/5, not particularly unique although it sounded amazing when described - cubes of deep fried tofu drizzled with peanut sauce on a bed of cilantro pesto. But not that tasty and not that interesting Scallop robo - 5/5, excellent with a kick from the spicy powder on these, note these are very small portions, three slices of scallop (not even a full scallop or if these were full scallops they were very thin) on a stick Ribeye scallion robo - 5/5, also excellent, with three chunks of tender grilled beef Mochi ice cream: passion fruit, matcha - 4/5, but mostly because I'm not a huge fan of mochi ice cream, I'd rather just have the ice cream or have it with a brownie or between two cookies So overall, service was great, not overly attentive. And the food was very solid with an outstanding exception with the shishito peppers. I'm not sure I'd go back as it is very dark in there and if I was seated on the first floor I'd not be able to have conversation with my dinner mates.

The triple‑fried wings arrived blisteringly crisp yet still juicy, coated in a Sichuan‑style dry pepper seasoning built on long-hot peppers, dried chilies, scallion, and a light peppercorn tingle that layered warmth rather than blunt heat. The spice never drowned out the chicken; it framed it, so each bite felt precise and intentional rather than overwhelming. The pork wonton soup offered the exact right counterpoint: a clean, quietly rich broth with tender pork wontons and fresh greens that refreshed the palate between wings. Taken together, along with a chilled Ginger Ale, the meal felt composed and deliberate without ever losing the simple satisfaction of a good lunch, and I would recommend this order without reservation to anyone who values both execution and flavor.
