    Expensive for mid. cold food

Did not have high hopes for this place but wanted to try since this was the closest buffet near us. I started with an assortment of sushi since that looked the freshest. Then got items from the hot trays. This buffet is fairly small with only a few areas each for food. All the food seems like it was sitting there from lunch and would randomly get replenished. This place was also not the cleanest with the dirtiest bathroom I've seen in a long time. This is concerning since how are the food practices here? Ithe best food items that were decent (not amazing) were the sushi and the fried chicken wings which you cant really mess up. Not sure if I will return to this place since there are better Chinese buffet elsewhere.

Grand East buffet is probably the best Chinese food buffet in Delaware. The food was so fresh, and they constantly kept selling more and more food. The coconut shrimp was probably my favorite as well as their dumplings. I went on a Friday noon for lunch, and there was a good number of tables occupied. Probably about 8 or 10 of other guest. The staff did not smile at all but they did a great job and provided great service. They were always coming by to clean up your plates as well as refill your drinks. There was not a moment where we did not have water filled. I also love that they don't continuously check up on you to make sure you're OK. Feel like this is the type of service that you get in countries outside of America where you don't have someone constantly over your shoulder, which I totally support. TLDR - food is delicious and fresh, Super affordable and I love the service

So my experience at the Grand east buffet was just OK! Not a lot options to choose from...got here 30 mins after opening the food was OK some of it food was bland but still hot so I can't really complain. The service was cool the waiter lady was smooth, the ambiance was OK as well could use more light in there overall my rate for th stays the same

Grand East Buffet is a comprehensive Chinese and Japanese buffet located in Wilmington, DE. The choices are endless. They offer Chinese and Japanese delicacies along with lunch special, along with combination platters and Chef's specials. They also cater to patrons who are dieting. There are three large buffet stations as well as a sushi bar featuring sushi and a wide variety of sushi selections including fish along with special rolls, all freshly made. There was also fresh seafood, shrimp as well as mussels. All the condiments were available-wasabi, ginger etc. The desserts were somewhat limited but they did have an ice cream machine. There was a great deal of staff constantly clearing the tables, cleaning the food stations and seating patrons. It was a great experience and I would recommend and return.

Soon as we walked into the door, we was greeted and sat very quickly. The server was super nice and amazing. The food was freshly made and out on the line for everyone to enjoy. They had a wide variety of food and desserts. The atmosphere was welcoming and warm. Only thing I would like is for them to have some liquor(adult drinks lol).

Best example of a chinese buffet that I've been to in a while. This place has the freshest sushi I've seen at a buffet, with so many appetizers that it's not worth it to ever order take out again. Three or four types of dumplings and shumai, egg rolls, spring rolls, and a huge variety of fried and steamed options made up the only a fourth of the buffet. All of the basics were pretty good-- the fried rice, pepper steak, broccoli and chicken, and lo mein all looked and tasted like a better quality place. Didn't get to try the fish, but the chicken, beef, and pork were all very good. Although it's not in my area, it will be my first choice when I go on a weekend drive and need a great deal. Alright for a chinese place, great for a chinese buffet!

Several light bulbs not working. Dark and gloomy looking inside.

Best seafood and coconut shrimp around, great pork and beef entrees, plenty of fruit and baked goods or puddings for dessert.

The food is cheap and not bad for price. About as good as Chinese from a strip mall can possibly be. It has the menus with all the numbers for the items. They have the usual kind of stuff. Has a few vegetarian choices. The best of these is the Bean Curd With Mushroom. It's $7.50 for a good amount. This only comes in the quart size. Along with mushrooms, it also comes with lots of broccoli. The tofu is slightly crispy. I would consider ordering from here again. It's best to get carryout. There's only a few tables inside and it's kind of sticky.

My husband went to pick up some Chinese for our lunch and he said they were super rude to him. He almost walked out but we are determined to find a to go Chinese place in Wilmington. This place is cash only and apparently the lady was particular about what he gave her (wanted more change then $10 bills). Anyway got the food and he brought it back home. Lunch special was kind of small. I got the roast pork and broccoli. There wasn't that much meat which was mostly broccoli which was disappointing. The fried rice was just okay and the broccoli tasted old. We opted to pay 75 cents more to swap our can of soda (comes with combo) to an egg roll. The egg roll was just a frozen egg roll fried in very old oil. I was starving so I doused it in sauce and ate it anyway. I also had a bit of an allergic reaction eating the egg roll so maybe I'm allergic to what's in it or the oil they fried it in. Who knows. Not returning to this place thats for sure. Maybe DE just doesn't have good Chinese food in general.

Comes with the egg roll which I did not partake cuz this boy is getting chunky. Chicken: 2.75/5. The chicken meat was kinda stringy. The sauce lacked boldness in flavor - it was neither sweet nor salty nor tangy. Breading was soggy. Rice: 2.5/5 undercooked and crunchy, unfortunately. Wok Hei was mediocre at best. Their char siu pieces lacked any specific flavor. The shrimp was surprisingly the redemption factor of it. Broccoli: Two pieces, fresh Overall: 2.75/5. Will pass

It was different in a few ways, most notably it wasn't that run of the mill pink, green and white thing. Theirs was colorful and fun, great way to get my attention. And I liked that they were doing hot wings. I'm definitely down to try those however today I went with traditional Chinese. I got the Hot Pepper Chicken under the BBQ Specials and an egg roll. When the nice man handed me the bag it was heavy. When I got it home I saw why. It was packed with chicken and rice. At 5.79 I thought that was pretty awesome. And it was good and hot. Left my mouth with that tingling Szechuan sensation I've become obsessed with. I'm holding on to a star until I try the wings which comes with TEN different sauces. They even have Jerk Chicken on the menu. I would definately be curious to see what an Asian spin on a Jamaican classic would be like. Stay tuned for that review in the meantime good job China Wok!
