We ordered two entrees for delivery. I had sweet and sour chicken. It wasn't very good the last time, but I wanted to give it another try. The chicken was so dry and old, it was actually hard to get my fork into. I tipped the driver and on top of that, they charged a delivery fee and a credit card fee. I'm fine with the delivery fee but when the heck did companies start charging a credit card fee? I will contact the Attorney General office of Consumer Fraud to see if this is legal. I ordered General Tso chicken and specifically asked for extra vegetables. The female order taker even repeated back my request as a confirmation. Upon delivery I did not get the extra veggies I paid for. I asked for hot and sour soup with won tons added to it, and said I'd pay for the won tons. For what it is, it's good. I am in town for work and I stay in a hotel out north here and I order for delivery every once in a while. I am not a typical sweet and sour chicken and fried rice person. I want veggies and little sauce. They do tend to drown their dishes like beef with broccoli in gravy-like sauces. I go for pork with green beans or orange beef. They will steam broccoli for me too. I really love Chinese food!!! As of 1/24/21, this place is available for take out only!! That's ok! You can order right at the door. There are some very good choices on the menu. While it is available online, I suggest looking at the most current one in the shop. The vegetable fried rice was very well done. I start with the rice, because how well it's made is important! I even kept the remainder for lunch the next day and was not disappointed. I was also happy with the egg foo young. I will definitely try the place again. I heard it was a buffet before covid. This place use to be the bomb but the past year its gone down hill. I heard there is new management? We have ordered multiple times hoping for improvement but it just gets worse. All the dishes either have no flavor or all taste the same. When I order beef with broccoli why does it taste like shrimp. Best Chinese delivery I've had since I moved to North Dakota in 2013. Their House Special Wonton Soup is a crazy good value. It's packed full of veggies and chicken and shrimp and wontons, definitely not the broth with a few wontons tossed in you get at most places. The chicken is pretty high quality and they definitely don't skimp on the shrimp. (I'm a poet and didn't even know it!) Their Hot and Sour Soup is definitely out of this world. It's SUPER spicy, so beware. I'm a spice hound and I can only take it in small doses. It's packed with tofu and chicken and veggies. Definitely worth the cost if you're a spice lover. Beef with broccoli was ON POINT! They use high quality meat, none of that chewy gristly stuff you find at other places. I can't quite describe why I like it so much other than the texture of the beef is just perfect. Their chicken teriyaki is pretty decent. Perhaps a tad dry but they send it with sweet and sour sauce right in the box, and if you mix that with some of the mustard they send in the bag it's pretty good. Their beef teriyaki is pretty amazeballs! They sprinkle it in sesame seeds which I've never seen before but enjoyed. Very strong teriyaki flavor, as well, which I like. There's even a bit of teriyaki sauce in the bottom of the container, if you want to dip the meat a little more. Their egg rolls are great. They send you a cup of sweet and sour sauce with them, as well as mustard and soy sauce packets so you can flavor them to your taste. I personally like them with mustard mixed in with the sweet and sour or with soy sauce dumped into them. Perfectly fried every time and never too greasy. This is the ONLY place I've found that makes a good shrimp with lobster sauce in ND. I grew up in New England where lobster sauce is dark, flavorful, and full of pork. Every other place in ND I've ordered shrimp with lobster sauce from has sent me this weak eggdrop soup crap with a few shrimp tossed in there. If I wanted to overpay for eggdrop soup I'd just tip your driver a lot more than normal. Hong Kong stepped up to the lobster sauce challenge like pros and definitely passed. It's dark, flavorful, mixes in well with the white rice they include with it, and has lots of pork in there. And they PACK that box with shrimp! They definitely won me over with that. Hong Kong's espiece de resistance, though, for me, is the Singapore noodles. If you like curry, go get you some Hong Kong Singapore noodles! They pack it full of veggies, scrambled egg, chicken, and shrimp, then I swear they must use a compacter to smash those noodles in there because it's PACKED! No fluff in that box when you open it. I can eat nearly an entire meal off that box and be fluffing the noodles and it's still more or less full after the first sitting. Some kind of Chinese black magic going on with how they pack that box. Makes me really want to try that House Special Lo Mein I keep hearing about. read more

Suuuuper bland and flavorless or extremely salty. I got the house lo mein and it was extremely salty and lacking in flavor. Also got the veggie fried rice and it was horrible, the worst I've ever had in my life. Completely 100 percent flavorless and was clearly microwaved not fried or stir-fried. Very disappointed. Bf and I wanted really good Chinese food and had read the reviews to here and had a friend tell me that this was the place to Try but that wasn't the case. We ordered take out and they LITTERALLY Took 2 hrs to deliver. We had to call 2 times to see where they were at and both times said they were on the way, mind you we don't live very far. Finally got our food and the BBQ pork was more like beef jerky and the low mein was not what I was expecting at all and to know I paid like $50 for everything there wasn't much to show for it. I was out in Bismarck for work and I needed a meal that provided leftovers. So I came here and got the crab ragoon and shrimp with Chinese vegetables. The food didn't disappoint it was standard Americanized Chinese food. One reviewer mentioned the sweet and sour sauce, I don't care for the kind they use here either which is the pink goo. The only negative thing was that the crab ragoon was a bit on the greasy side for me but that didn't stop me from gobbling up every last one. ABSOLUTELY DELICIOUS! I was passing through town and had a taste for Chinese. I arrived too late for the lunch buffet so decided to order off the menue. I had the green pepper beef. It arrived hot and fresh with the most tender beef I could have ever imagined. The brown sauce was prepared correctly and was a healthy version; it wasn't greasy or heavy. The meal was a handsome proportion for the cost. The restaurant has soft music which only added to the delightful meal. Bonnie, my server was very kind and welcoming. The owner, Wayne, took the time to ask about the meal satisfaction which only made the dining experience more pleasurable. I highly recommended dining at Hong Kong. This was a big leap of faith on my part, as there were no photos, just three reviews, and their website is currently down, so I had no access to a menu from my hotel room... but it was a great dinner and I'm glad I took the risk. I had hot and sour soup, which was excellent and flavorful. They also made Ma Po Tofu for me--even though it wasn't on their menu--and it was excellent. Ma Po is my favorite dish and what I use to test Chinese restaurants, and finding it done well is always a treat--but particularly when the chef offers to make it for me when it's not on the menu! Delivery was quick and both phone and delivery interactions were very friendly. This is my go-to Chinese restaurant in Bismarck. I've never sat down for dinner here, only done take-out (so I can't vouch for the atmosphere or buffet), but each time I've eaten here my food has been delicious. It's hard to find good Chinese in North Dakota, but this is the best I've had so far. Meat seems to be good quality and dishes are very flavorful. Truth be told, I think the other reviewers must never had good Chinese food, so they don't know how to compare this restaurant to others. The food here is edible but not good. The vegetables must come pre sliced from a bag because the edges are dry and curling in. Crab Rangoon was crunchy by the time it was delivered. The sweet and sour sauce was pretty disgusting. I got the vegetable lo mein hoping for a ton of veggies based on another review. It was mostly noodles. Way too salty for me but still edible. My husband said the Kung pao chicken was the worst he has ever had. The peanuts thrown in were not even stir fried. The sauce is goopy and heavy. He said the hot and sour soup was the only part of the meal worth eating. If we have to order from here again, we could order 4 soups and 6 crab rangoons to make it work. Too bad. Dinner was ok. They had a buffet which I passed up hoping for something more fresh. I am a big fan of General Tso, so I gave it a try. I would have given it two stars if not for everything being very hot right out of the kitchen. The egg roll and egg drop were very hot and fresh. The General was ok. I've recently had the buffet. The options aren't as vast as the other Chinese buffet right next to it. There wasn't any kind of rice on the buffet whatsoever. I ended up getting the lo mein instead, which looked more like ramen noodles. The red cups they give you for your drinks are a bit small. The plain chicken you have to dip into the sweet and sour sauce barely has any taste. The dining area is small and was completely empty when I visited, makes you wonder how long that buffet food has been sitting there with no previous customers in sight. My family and I stopped by to eat dinner together but we didn't realize they closed the same time on weekends so we ended up walking in after they had closed up. Instead of kicking us out the main hostess invited us in and offered cooking for takeout. She served us drinks while we waited and after the food was ready she gave us White Rabbit candies that she said she has bought since she was little. I was in town and this place was always a go to. I had read some reviews on yelp that weren't good but I figured I'd call to see if they had my favorite dish from years past... jalapeño chicken. I was told yes they did so I ordered it. I also ordered teriyaki chicken. The jalapeño chicken was some spicy concoction with green and red bell peppers. Not a jalapeño pepper to be found. The dish was called spicy chicken I guess. Evidently the new ownership thinks spicy chicken and jalapeño chicken are the same dish. The spicy chicken isn't very tasty. Then my teriyaki chicken was a joke. Like plain chicken on a stick with some teriyaki sauce dumped in the container. Doesn't look at all like the teriyaki chicken I have eaten there in the past or at any other Chinese restaurant I have eaten at. It doesn't even look appetizing so I haven't tried it yet. Like one review read this place used to be the bomb. Now it's a firecracker. Got a drink, which was pretty good, but the hot and sour soup didn't taste like it should, the appetizers lacked in presentation, and the main courses needed work.
