My husband and I were disappointed with our food. Based on the positive reviews, we assumed it was because we had an inexperienced cook or because it was an hour before closing on a Friday night. Chicken was good; Rice was undercooked. ***OVERALL RATING: 2/5 2. I ordered WHOLE WINGS. I expected the bold, Asian flavor that Chinese-style wings usually have. Instead it tasted like they dropped unseasoned wings in a fryer and then put them in a styrofoam box. They were golden brown, crispy, and flavorless. I tried to add salt but it didn't stick. Couldn't eat them. ***OVERALL RATING: 1/5 Although there was a language barrier, the lady that took our order was friendly and tried very hard to understand and please us. The egg rolls were very greasy. The general tos chicken had red sauce on it with no real flavor I didn't even finish eating everything.

Ownership changed a couple years ago, as well as the scoop-style to a regular fast-food restaurant, so I wouldn't trust the older reviews like before 2022-ish? If you're looking for a delicious restaurant that is going above & beyond during the dangers of COVID-19 this is it. Plan to wait a little bit because you can only order over the phone or at the door as they are not allowing anyone to come inside the restaurant. Everyone was masked and taking precautions within the cooking areas as well as the area designated for ordering at the door and picking up your food. The food quality is always great here, and you can pretty much count on having leftovers for a few days after because of their generous portions. That and the fact that they've taken the time to keep themselves as well as their customers safe, is why we will continue to order & support Hong Kong. I thought it was a good sign when they went takeout only. No more poor but expensive pseudo-buffet! We have tried several dishes. It seems that the food quality may be higher than everyone else, but they do not seem to know what 'spicy' is. Every time we order 'extra spicy', they just go heavier with the soy or brown sauce - no red pepper at all. Today we ordered a dish described as 'in a white sauce' extra spicy and what we got was in a dark thick, but not spicy, sauce. It is close to GA highlands which is great for students in a budget. I first arrived when they were just starting out. They have a dollar scoop option and it's not bad at all! I am really surprised at some of the other reviews. It is rare to find good Chinese food in Atlanta but they hit the nail on the head here! I have ordered through door dash on several occasions but today went in for our normal order (sesame chicken, sweet and sour chicken, fried rice and lo me in.) Their sweet and sour sauce is delicious, craveable actually. The lo mein is undoubtedly the best I have ever had, and coming from NY that speaks volumes. Not once have I had soggy or unsauced food. The store itself is super clean. I just wish they carried two liters for family night. read more

This is a fairly new business in the Kroger shopping center. I went a couple weeks ago with my girls, they wanted the dollar scoops. They really like it. The portions are decent as well. I went again tonight and spent under 7 bucks for two to go boxes, fed them and then some leftovers. They have all the standard Chinese menu items for the dollar scoop. Also they have a pretty extensive menu to order from. 25 different Lunch specials for 4.95 looks like you get pork or white rice with it, and choice of egg roll or soup. Over a hundred other items, most range from 4.50-8.00 most served with white rice.. They also have a combo menu for 6.95 with pork fried rice, choice of egg roll or soup(won ton, egg drop, or hot and sour) Sure beats fast food in my opinion. Definitely a bargain. read more

Went once. Will never go back. Food was some of the worst Chinese I have ever had. Egg rolls were nice and crunchy on the outside but complete mush on the inside. Gravy for the egg foo young had a sour taste. General Tso's chicken had almost no sauce. Everything else was just plain bland. Panda Express would have been better. read more

$1 a scoop is a good price, but the food still isn't worth that. They use too many vegetables to make it look like you are getting a lot of food. Also it all tastes the same, too sweet. Even when something is marked spicy, you ask for it extra spicy, all you can taste is sweet. I love the food here. The egg rolls are the best anywhere - fresh ingredients and cooked when ordered. I always get my favorite - Mongolian beef. It is fabulous!
