This is my go to spot for good Chinese food each time I come back home to the Lynn area. I always order the shrimp fried rice, fried chicken wings, crab Rangoon and lobster sauce! 9 time out of 10, it's a hit for me. It's almost comparable to my favorite Chinese restaurant in Boston as a child. Unfortunately that chef is no longer around. Hence, the 4 out of 5 stars, as I've had better on other occasions from various restaurants in the past. The customer service is not always the best. The restaurant is clean. They are fast. I ordered small spare rib with bone on, sweet and sour chicken, and chick chow main this past Wednesday evening even around 430.The woman who answered this restaurants food was so rude I should have hung up.I just had back surgery so I was looking forward to Chinese as we all do! Well she was speaking under her breath when I asked what prices were but not only that she told me the delivery guy not in yet so I would have to wait for him said fine My apt bell rang on the 3rd floor so I was waiting for him cause he passed my door b4 I got it opened( I had tipped him already) when i took the package to the kitchen I could not believe what I was served??????? Sweet and sour chicken was no pineapple not even 1 tidbit no t even 1 cherry. They served very little amount of sauce in a souflee cup! Never seen that b4 and there were strips not spareribs on the bone! I called right away and told her why did I not get what I ordered?????She just laughed over the phone like it was some joke and said, "lady we have not given out cherries or pineapples in 5 years???? Good was terrible! The fried rice had n very little flavor. Was basically white rice with pieces of meat/ shrimp and very bland. The hot and sour soup was. Wry watery and not spicy at all and I asked for memory spicy in it. And the large chicken and broccoli was so out I could not eat it! I called the manager and she said that there was nothing she could do and that I just had different taste. Not apologetic at all. Never order from here! I should have read the reviews. First of all -- very nice people that run the place. Now and then they have their kids helping out as well. That motivation at such a young age is really inspiring. They always have great food. The prices are usually a good deal less than other local competitors however the food (in my opinion) far superior to anyone else in the area. On a side note, the Kowloon as a comparison, this place (on a scale from 1 to 10 - 10 being the best) a 9.5 or better, Kowloon is lucky to land at 3.5. Kowloon (as an example) is about 35% more expensive. Regardless of the superior qualit and lower cost at Hong Kong - what's every bit as important to me is that you just can't help but like the people who run the place. We hadn't ordered from here in a while due to the prices being different every time we ordered, but decided to give it another shot. I picked up the order and even though I ordered online, the price was different from the one given online. Wired, but whatever. I got home and they forgot to put the chicken fingers in the bag. I called and drove back. When I got there the owner said he put them in the bag and basically called me a liar before begrudgingly giving me what I ordered and paid for. But Honestly, for the past year i've been ordering take out from Hong Kong, and I've never had a bad meal here. The girl on the phone who takes the order is to the point and always gets my order correct with my accommodations; such as no msg or if I don't want a certain vegatable cooked with the dish. The food is always fresh, hot, tasty and delivery is about 20 to 30 mins max. 10 to 15 if you pick it up. My neighbor across the street is also addicted to them. read more

Terrible service. We called and ordered food and were told it would be about 35 minutes until it was delivered. They called us back at least 8 times to check with us about our order. When it finally came we were missing a large beef teriyaki, a small chicken finger and one of the combo plates was messed up. We immediately called the store and were told all the drivers have gone home, they don't have beef teriyaki and that there was nothing he could do. The driver had just left our house, and my friend is eating beef teriyaki in his combo plate. The food we did receive wasn't even on par as average compared to other Chinese places. read more

I came across Hong Kong express when searching for a delivery service in Saugus. I ordered the house special fried rice . Let me tell you cooked perfectly and was soo delicious I had to write a review. There are too many places that over cook the rice , so i appreciate when actually done correctly. I am extremely unsatisfied and will be calling to speak with management in the morning. I called at 9:45 pm and ordered my food. Understanding that they close at 10:30 I figured it wouldn't be delivered til around then(seeing as I did not receive a wait time on the phone.) After waiting and waiting I checked my phone and noticed one missed call which I called back 2 mins after. No answer. Called again and again, no answer. They never came to my door ..all my lights are on and they've delivered to my house several times before with no problem. I called the restaurant back 5 times not even 5 mins past closing and no answer. So not only did they not even care about my order they clearly don't care about their business either. I work in a restaurant and never would I display such poor customer care. I understand it's just food but why even take orders around that time if you are just rushing to close down. read more

First off, this place is NOT closed. Secondly, I have lived in Saugus for the past 15 years and this is my go-to spot for chinese. I don't eat chinese often but when I do they never let me down. The beef here is unreal. Beef teriyaki and boneless ribs are to die for. The rest of the food is on par with what you're going to get almost anywhere. The food is OK... everything else is terrible!!Last time I ordered food for takeout, I made it all the way home and then they called me to say they forgot something. I had to drive all the way back there to pick up the rest of my order when I just pulled up to my house. Today I ordered for delivery from them asked for extra ginger sauce it comes to my house with no ginger sauce!! I call them back to tell them they forgot it and the owner fought with me saying that it was there and she didn't care and she wanted me to pay for new Peking raviolis??? I asked her can I have new ones to replace them and I will give her the old ones because they would be an hour old and cold but she didn't care she said NO!! So I say NO to her business!!! They suck!! Go clean your green nasty fish tank!! Also, one time I was in there and her son is so gross he spit on the floor right in front of me but I gave that a pass because that could just be a kid with no manners anyways I will never go back there again nor order delivery!!
