This family run business offers americanized versions of Asian foods. The dishes I have tried have been very good. I have tried different selections from every protein category on the menu. Everything has been tasty and hot, even when I get home with it. All the menu items are prepared fresh when orders are called in. We get take out from this restaurant on a regular basis. I've been going here for years, between this and another shop in Upton, the Hong Kong House is an excellent choice for really good food at reasonable prices. While other restaurants in our area are charging significantly more for the same or less quality, the Hong Kong House has kept their prices reasonable while keeping the quality of the food to their high standards. Love the food, don't love the service. We always order and pay when we order and still have to wait 20 mins when we show up whatever time they tell us to pick up. We thought it was because we didn't pay in advance, but I think they start making the food when you arrive. I initiated this review last time we picked up. Nothing has changed with the slow service. Tonight we brought the food home, we only live 5 mins away, and it was cool. Sadly had to microwave our food. I called with our complaint and they said we can discount our next order. Was in the area and saw the sign for Hong Kong house. This also came recommended to me recently. Decided to try this for dinner yesterday and it was really great! I wanted to do the ginger chicken with string beans but due to the holiday they were out. That's ok, I ordered general Tso's. It was really tasty! I love that the lunch and dinner meals come with salad and fruit and less rice than other places I have been to! It really makes it feel like the meal isn't that unhealthy. Anyway, there was so much general tso left over that I have a second meal today. The pork fried rice was yummy and I ate all of it. Also got an order or the garlic noodles that were tasty. My family members also tried the general tso and the Kung pao shrimp which was packed with all kinds of veggies. Super yummy. Will definitely try more from here! read more

It was a saturday night- i called in a medium order of the hits - nothing crazy. was quoted a 45 minute wait time- more than reasonable on a saturday. Headed over after a 50 minute wait and then proceeded to stand in their tiny lobby for another THIRTY FIVE minutes as the staff toddled around with a glacial urgency - again I know we re coming out of a pandemic I know everyone is short staffed - but I feel like I probably could have gotten through the international TSA at Logan and been well on my way to Peking to get my own Chinese food. - not only were they slow- they were incompetent as when we finally received our order it was basically call "bingo" if you ended up with something you asked for. Would not recommend - would rather pay a stranger 50 dollars to stand in their entry way watch them play on their phones and not get any food - ridiculous - gave 1 star because 0 was not an option read more

Have been going to this place since it opened. The service is a bit slow, but that I can understand as it is popular. I unfortunately will not be going back. Like I said, been going here since it opened. But now they are skimping so much on orders. Raise prices but don't reduce order. We ordered here for the first time and everything was delicious. We got three different dishes and everything was fresh and tasty. The veggies were juicy and perfect. They have some tasty dishes and some less than. We love the green beans and beef in ginger sauce, but it's 95% green beans. It's highway robbery to charge $10 for mostly green beans and a few pieces of steak. Their vegetable fried rice is great with lots of big chunks of vegetables like broccoli. Chinese dumplings, or Peking ravioli, are weird little dough balls with tasteless filling. I guess they're intended to be bite size. Egg drop soup and won ton soup are ok. Taste like every other place really. Chicken lo mein is ok too. Nothing spectacular. Decent ratio of noodles to vegetables, but again, light on the meat. read more

Excellent food here with decent prices. The place is more oriented to take out with the seating being so limited. The waitstaff is very nice and always seem accommodating to special requests. The food is far less oily and greasy than other Chinese restaurants. It's now my favorite fried rice of all the area restaurants. Portions could be bigger but that's a small gripe. I don't think I've ever had more than a 7-8 minute wait for my food. I haven't tried delivery yet as I don't live in the area. read more

Tried this based on the reviews and it didn't hurt that it's a stones throw from our house! We got a couple of the app plates. Everything was very good and tasty except for the fact that the crab rangoon was waaaaay over cooked! The ends were very dark brown and tasted burnt! Sadly we were Totally disappointed, for $10 you get fried rice with little fat balls (pork) one tiny beef teriyaki, of the 5 small pieces of what was supposed to be boneless ribs 4 were pure fat and inedible, crab Rangoon forgot the crab, the filling was pure cream cheese and the side order of chicken fingers were saturated with grease. The food here is good, however the orders don't get put together well. The first time I ordered they gave me a totally different dish than I ordered. I went back and they were very apologetic and gave me the right one. The next time I ordered lemon chicken and when I got home there was no sauce on the chicken.
