They need more flavor rice and lo mein not much flavor. Chow mein was bad I got a piece of chicken that was completely grey on the end.... I LOVE this place! I love the look, the vibe, the atmosphere and especially the staff! I've lived in Wrentham for over a decade and my go-to spot has always been Hang Tai which is still fantastic. But to me there's plenty of room for a second favorite as well, haha! Mai tais are fantastic, you can order them to go as well! And I like their food, it's standard Chinese-American fare and from my experience it's always been hot and fresh, I'm really a pupu platter type of guy, so I don't get to exotic with my orders, so I can't comment on some of the stuff others have mentioned. Food is passable but greasy . The lounge is the place to go . When we were there , there was 1 waiter serving drinks etc .. they were strong too . Good Spot I have been going to Medway Lotus for years now. The owners are so friendly and have always treated us well. Excellent quality of food (subjective when rating a Chinese restaurant ). They are very accomodating...if I want a plate of chicken fingers, chow mein and rice they will make it for me even if not on the menu. Pu Pu platter is good, drinks are good, its fast, friendly, and high quality. We live 40 miles away and still think its well worth the trip. I have been to several chinese food restaurants in my life (heck lets be honest..HUNDREDS of chinese food restaurants) and I think overall this is one of the better ones based on food, service and friendly atmosphere. Make sure you know what to expect when you go to the Lotus. It is New England Americanized Chinese food just like what I remember from the 80s. The decor is dated but it kind of adds to the charm of the place imo. We went on a Friday night, sat in the bar area. The drinks are responsibly priced and there are good options. We started with a scorpion bowl for 4 and tried others from there. Karaoke kicked in around 8:30pm and the eclectic crowd really got bigger around 10pm. It was a mix of all ages, some there for the food, some the drinks and a few for karaoke. Our server was awesome, very friendly and obviously has worked there a long time. Lets talk about a non-inclusive Medway Lotus being DISCRIMINATORY! THIS IS NOT A PLACE TO BRING ANYONE WITH SPECIAL NEEDS! STAFF MADE THIS CLEAR! This review could go on for days about the decor being dated, the food being mediocre, poorly made mixed drinks. Rather, this review will to talk more about the customer/staff interactions. What I witnessed tonight saddened me to my very core. A sequence of events lead to a small group of friends wanting to get some late night food. As we entered the bar section of the restaurant the 'bouncer', not doing his job, allowed for us to enter without checking any ids. So it wasn't surprising to find the room was full of minors. As we sat to order our food and drinks, one of our friends who happens to have a social cue disorder (Asperger syndrome), being his normal friendly self decided to say hello to a group of 8 people at another table next to us. This conversation lasted a good 15 or so minutes, and from my perspective they were all having a friendly conversation. Moments later, with no warning, he was approached by the bouncer, and was told to leave the building. At this time, we were just getting our food as I noticed the bouncer escorting my friend outside. My husband immediately went to address the situation. In turn he was kicked out for inquiring why it was that someone who was being nice and friendly was kicked out? If the table had any issue, why did they not voice, "please can you leave our table". Instead this table engaged him, not only inside, but a few even followed outside to continue and talk to him and apologize for the situation as they smoked their cigarets. I asked the owner/manager, why it was they asked for them to leave and all they could reply with was that a man from that table next to us was uncomfortable and had asked for him to be removed. Never have I ever seen anyone kicked out of any venue for being too nice. I respect that someone was uncomfortable, I respect that someone would want someone to leave them alone if they were being bothered. But, without an inkling of a clue? How about, don't engage in conversation, and someone won't continue to talk! On a normal occasion this may not impact me so much. However, the way the bouncer handled the situation was uncalled for. What I find most interesting is the bouncer is not in the room at all during this to witness anything, rather in the front lobby. So he has no real idea one way or another. Perhaps to do his job more efficiently he should not only CHECK IDS, but be present so he can actually see these interactions in order to make better judgement calls as I addressed with the manager, who responded with, "The bouncer is here to kick people out when someone is unhappy or uncomfortable." Well I was unhappy and uncomfortable with the lack of understanding and they did nothing to remedy this. Again, I could complain all day about the actions of the staff at Medway Lotus resulting in my poor experience. After working for/with the local Milford community and the Best Buddies program for nearly a decade, the inclusive programs for children, young adults, and adults with special needs, which I do remind myself do not exist everywhere as proof right here, I am disheartened by the lack of discussion or willingness to even look into the matter. It was all cut and dry for them. I will iterate again that this is not a place of inclusivity. This is not a place to bring anyone with a disability of any kind. My suggestion to the Manager and owner of Medway Lotus would be to hire a more socially aware bouncer who could do his job more efficiently and not just be there to collect a pay check. read more

I probably would give this restaurant a zero if I could. And this is the first restaurant review I've ever done. We are staying at the comfort inn nearby. Once we looked online for a place to order delivery, this restaurant says delivery. However when we figured out what we wanted and called there was no delivery. I thought we can DoorDash and it wasn't available on DoorDash. So we called to place our order, called an Uber and went to pick it up. We ordered egg drop soup, house special fried rice, general Tao's chicken, kung pao chicken, dumplings, four spring rolls and the double flavor delight. Our total came to $77 and some change. This was the worst Chinese food I have ever had. And I have had lots of Chinese food all over the country. It was horrible. It was simply bland. Before we left the restaurant we asked for duck sauce, hot mustard, and soy sauce. With all this food he gave us three packs of soy sauce, what appeared to be a watered down hot mustard in a tiny container about two tablespoons full, and something that was supposed to be ginger sauce. Everything was simply bland. The only thing I could eat a little bit of was the vegetables and they didn't have any flavor except their own. I'm visiting here from North Carolina. If you like your Vegetable fried rice tasting bland and burnt at the same time with a few pieces of pepper and onions, then you'll love it. Same for Beef LoMein, no flavor except burnt. No Asian flavor, just bland and burnt. Both are dark in color, like black. never seen fried rice thats black. Both the crab rangoons and Sweet and Sour chicken were greasy and smelled like old oil. It will be a miracle if I get through the night without vomiting. I don't how this place has any good reviews! We have been fans for 5 plus years, the owners and staff are phenomenal! The food is fresh and quality! We have no other place to buy from as this is it! The customer service is on point and that's a huge for me , friendly and treats all like family. Love going back to visit for a hello! Now living in Medway I try the same thing at each Chinese restaurant to find the best. Here is my review of Medway lotus. The karaoke bar looks interesting and I might go there for a mai tai and check out the singers. The food is something else. I ordered pork egg foo young and house special fried rice. I got three egg foo young's and on the first two I ate, I thought they forgot to add pork but on the third one there was one piece of pork. The fried rice was not but regular white rice with some meat thrown in. Basically rice with meat and nothing else. Over all the taste on this food was very bland. read more

Definitely a hidden and not-so-well publicized gem. Must have driven by the restaurant on Route 109 hundreds of times over the last 10 years without ever a thought of going there. It doesn't look like much from the outside. Then, over the last 2 years or so, 2 of our favorite "old school" Americanized Chinese restaurants shuttered up (Pago Pago in Milford, and South Pacific in Newton). So, out of desperation we gave it a try, and have been regulars since. Not too many places around serving the old style Subgum or Chicago chow meins, pupu platters the way they used to be, and the really dark looking fried rice ... but if you like the type of Chinese food that the restaurants your parents took you to served, give it a try. Good bar for karaoke on Friday and Saturday nights. There's a pool room as well. Lots of smokers out front on bar nights but usually a nice crowd. Good for takeout. I can do a whole curry chicken and a jasmine rice myself. I also like the mixed protein dish and that can be enough for 2-3 people. Best establishment in town. Fun for all ages The food is pretty good, standard chinese food. It is cheap, made fast, and there are many things to choose from. The drinks are also great. They are strong, and cheap. A bud light and most other beers are $3. That is the cheapest in town. There are no draft beers here though......I dont care at all though I hate beer. A mixed drink is between $5-6, and like the beer is also the best value in town. Personally if you want the BEST value, get a lazer beam $7.50, but it will be worth it. The food is good, the drinks are good, but what sets the Lotus apart from anywhere I go is the hospitality. Joe and his family are pleasant to most everyone, and its very hard to get on their bad side. You have to be a real jerk to do that. This place always has people coming back for more, and thats why I always see regulars any day of the week, any time. Dont be a jerk and you will be treated MORE than well here. On friday and saturday nights there is karaoke, this brings in an older crowd to the bar area, but the young crowd like myself also still come. It is generally a good time every weekend. The bar area can get crazy indeed, but those are some of the funnest times. Anytime I want quick food that is good, and that will satisfy my appetite, the lotus is right up their on my list of places to go. I will be honest, my town medway is pretty LAME with most things closing by 10-11 on a weeknight!, but the lotus is open every night until 1am, and you can go there pretty late and still get some food to go. If you want to bring your family here too there is a lounge area. Its probably a little too crazy though later in the Friday/Saturday nights to bring kids there though. There is also a small private billiards room too if you do not want to hang out in the bar or lounger area. Overall, go here if you want, good food, good drinks, fun times, good service, hospitality- what else can I mention that I havent that you would want?
