I have been enjoying my Chinese food fix at HONG CONG Kitchen For approx 6 years 3 to 5 times a month never had anything but a very good meal served by friendly courteous staff the flavors are very good portions are beyond large enough for 2 to share easily fried rice is always nice on place of white rice my favorite is almost anything prepared with the spicy Hunan sauce(want it spicer just ask) Cheese puffs are best l've found loaded with cream cheese fried crispy with duck sauce and hot mustard (not from squeez pack) 10 in a serving more than enough to share is a nice start and the egg rolls won't disappoint U nice and lite crispy with a moist tasty filling a everything I have ever eaten here has been very good to excellent along with the service U will leave full and not broke as the prices are very reasonable just to close let me say this is a very clean establishment with NO wonky odor stop by and enjoy read more

Minus stars if could... spent 40$ for some good Chinese food when leaving another establishment I stumble upon Hong Kitchen II go home place the order as it's only pick up well a bit disappointed to find black dead bugs in our white rice the chicken smelt strange even after being deep fried and the fried rice was white rice soaked in a weird brown sauce NO Veggies??? Has anyone ever experienced fried rice w/out veggies or eggs or anything??? Needless to say, I trashed it all (sad to loose 40$ in such a trying time) and made PB&J for the family! First time here. Googled something close to where I was at the moment. I am writing this as I go. Walked in and it is a nice little place. Well decorated and great ambiance. Very clean. Quick service, drink, a minute to look at the menu and when I put it down, they were right over. Food came out very quick and hot. I watched more people come in the door and they were all treated the same way. Healthy size portion of food and the didnt scrimp on the meat. My meal exploded with flavor. I couldn't finish it. I ate at Hong Kong Kitchen and I am definitely planning on coming back in the future. This place looks like a little hole in the wall from the outside but the food is awesome. I would highly recommend. Large portions at good prices. The flavor is great and everything is so fresh. The atmosphere of the restaurant had a calm and welcoming environment. It wasn't too busy or crowded. Overall the setting had a relaxed ambience. The service was excellent and made my experience there that much better. Right as I sat down I was immediately greeted by our waitress. Our drink orders came out right away and our food was on the table the next minute, it was the shortest amount of time I've ever had to wait for food. They had many options to choose from I almost couldn't decide. I ended up ordering the egg drop soup and sesame seed chicken. This is a really good fast and typical Chinese restaurant. Very clean and doesn't seat too many people. Expect good prices and a large serving of food, lunch prices are cheaper and slightly smaller but great value. The service was fine but didn't actually stand out and they messed up my order slightly. To those who like Egg Foo Young, this is one of less recommended ones I would say. Sauce isn't strong enough and the egg is more starchy than other ones. Lo mein was very good! read more

On Halloween, I had called in a to-go order and picked up the $35 order in my way home. Got home and everything looked amazing; however, what a disappointment. The General Chicken was not general chicken, not really sure what it was and the Chicken Broccoli had a sweet taste? The pop stickers were so so and the crab puffs tasted old, not crispy but chewy. This was our first time trying this restaurant and went there because of the reviews. The rice was great. Worst Chinese ever!! We could not tell the General Tso from the Orange Chicken or the Garlic Chicken. The chicken was a little on the tough side and the the rice was soooo dry, flavorless and had nothing in it...not even a little egg. We were gifted dinner here. I wish I could get the money back. Took my 7 year old son here because he loves Chinese food. He was hesitant about egg drop soup until he tried it and said it was the best! We even took some home. The teriyaki chicken is really good and great portion size. The food came out quickly, cooked well and excellent service. Our meal was under 20 dollars and my son wanted to leave the waitress a 10 dollar tip because as he said "everything was sooooo good!" We will be back again! read more

Awesome lunch for under $6. I have never been disappointed with their dishes. My favorite is the Chicken with Vegetables, add a little bit of spice. 2nd on my list would be the Mongolian Beef... Tried this place for the first time and I was happily impressed. Ordered the House Lo Mein, House fried rice and Orange chicken to go. The cashier was friendly and my order was ready within 15 mins. I was so hoping it was going to be good as I haven't found too many Chinese restaurants near my location. My family and I all agreed it was delicious. The only reason I did not give it a 5 rating is because the fried rice was a bit on the bland side and a tiny bit hard, not as soft as I would've liked. Well, unlike most of these reviews I found this Asian restaurant by far the Worse in the Phoenix area. In ordering a bowl of egg drop soup, it came 1st with a large chipped bowl I asked that they give me another, and they did it was tasteless and I mean without ANY taste whatsoever it was barely warm - definitely not hot!! It had a bag of corn in it which was absolutely awful. I then asked if I could have their won ton soup....BAD mistake that was like warm water without any broth taste at all. We had egg rolls (full of grease) The pot stickers were not even warm their food is AWFUL !!!! But, their service and servers were rude (not friendly at all) and that was before I sent anything back..... Still looking for a good Chinese place in Chandler/Gilbert. From the reviews I'd hoped I'd found one, but... My first impression as I walked in was a strong odor of fried noodles. I ordered the Broccoli Shrimp lunch special. The egg drop soup came first. It was decent & the bowl surrounded by very dense, fried wonton chips. I had just about finished the soup when my meal arrived. My first bite of veg, though, was cold. The dish's temperature varied from cold to hot throughout the meal. The rice was quite average, but dry, and there wasn't enough sauce from the shrimp dish to moisten it. Overall, very disappointing. Nothing great about the food. Don't get me wrong, it's good but not great. My beef broccoli had little flavor and the sauce was watery. The chicken chow mein however was pretty damn good. The hot and sour soup had a good flavor but was not the thick consistency I'm used to. Definitely not a deal breaker. We got take out so I can't comment on the service. We tried out Hong Kong Kitchen based off a co-worker's recommendation and it did not disappoint! The restaurant is nicely kept and the service was excellent! Started off with the crab puffs (which were substantial) and the potstickers (the dipping sauce was delicious). For entrees we tried out the house special lo mein, beef and broccoli, and the garlic shrimp. I was surprised at how much meat was in the noodles and the shrimp were perfectly crispy. Sometimes there's so much batter and hardly any shrimp, but these were the opposite - plump and juicy shrimp, lightly battered. My only criticism is that the dishes were a little too saucy for my liking, but otherwise everything was great! We'll be back! read more

Nice quiet atmosphere with friendly service. The kung pao shrimp and chicken lunch was excellent, the meat nice and tender. The fried rice was cooked just right, not soggy or hard. The waitress was very nice but doing too many jobs. Served my friend and the man behind me, then a few mins later came my plate and the lady behind me. She had to answer the phone, take orders, bus tables, serve tables and also handle the register. This made for an extended wait to take our order but she still did a good job considering her many hats. If you don't mind your plates being chipped in several spots around the edges, I would still say it was overall worth going and I will probably return. read more

Good going! You've lost 2 customers for life. And for what?--Saving $5 in food costs? I don't take satisfaction in writing this review, but I feel obligated to warn the public of their careless, negligent and dangerous practices. We really liked this place, and we were becoming regulars. But, on Wednesday evening, June 19, 2019, our take out order of 2 family dinners was terrible, and nearly put me in the ER. This was the third time we'd ordered the 2 family dinners, so, we knew what to expect. I'm writing this on Saturday June 22, 2019, and I'm still recovering. The two items in question were the fried shrimp that come with the dinners, and the General Tsao's chicken. Neither of these items were made fresh. The fried shrimp was super hard like it had been reheated/re-fried. It was cold and the shrimp inside the hard batter was nearly dissolved. The chicken was so tough you could not chew it. This is thigh meat! The outside crust of the chicken was so thick and rocky, I nearly lost a crown on the first bite. Besides being extremely disappointed being served what amounts to leftovers, these items were mishandled and or not reheated to proper temperature resulting in the worst food borne illness symptoms I have ever experienced. Because the chicken was nearly inedible, we threw a lot of it in the trash. But, I ingested enough to cause myself 3 days of pain and misery. I lost out on two days of work and a Friday night event I was looking forward to for sometime. Thank you Hong Kong Kitchen for costing me so much and saving you so little!! read more
