We arrived a little before 7pm on a Thursday and were greeted and seated immediately. The restaurant was relatively quiet with six other tables, maybe 1/3 full. We ordered the Hunan Beef and Moo Goo Gia Pan, also known as Snow White Chicken. The food arrived in about 5 minutes. Both dishes were hot, had a nice aroma, fresh tasting and delicious. The two dishes were served with white rice. The Hunan Beef and as the star with a savory slightly spicy brown sauce. Our server was very friendly and attentive. We came here on a Sunday afternoon- the place was busy, mostly with an older crowd. Our server was very direct and to the point. At first, it came across as a little rude, but I honestly think it was more of a language barrier than anything intentional. There were six of us, and we all ordered the family meal, which includes soup, a giant egg roll, fried shrimp, and your choice of entrée. The waitress kept asking if we were all sure we wanted the family meal, and we couldn't understand why she seemed so hesitant. Once the food arrived, it all made sense- the portions are HUGE. Each entrée easily could have been shared, so we definitely overordered. That said, leftovers are never a bad thing! The food came out incredibly fast, piping hot, fresh, and everything we tried was good. The only downside was that the entire experience felt rushed. We barely had time to enjoy our meal before plates were being cleared and the card reader was already at the table. Overall, if you're looking for a no-frills spot with generous portions, fast service, and really good Chinese food, Yao Fine Chinese Cuisine is definitely worth checking out. We were craving some good Asian food for Friday lunch and found this spot based on a Yelp suggestion. We walked in around 12:45 pm and the place was packed, mostly with a lively senior crowd, looked like there was a party going on! Service was super quick and the pricing is honestly unbeatable. We started with the egg drop soup, which had great flavor. For our mains, we ordered the Kung Pao Chicken and Chow Mein. Both plates came with spring rolls and a crab wonton puff. The crab puff was surprisingly good lots of filling compared to most place and the spring roll was just as tasty. The portion sizes looked a bit small at first, but the food turned out to be quite filling. Both entrées were flavorful and well-prepared. Our first time here yesterday we drove from mesa and it was worth the drive! We got the family deal the breading on the fried shrimp and orange chicken was so amazing! It doesn't make you feel yucky and its very light but very crunchy and amazing! We ended up with orange chicken and Mongolian beef and both were so good! They need to deep clean - it smells rotten in the dining area. Food is delicious, service is always nice. But god'dang it stinks - like old food or rotten sewage , it's an older restaurant and they've been around for years. Arrived about 30min to close which I usually try to avoid. Place was pretty empty which helped get attentive service. Inside decorations are a little bland. I ordered the lo mein and others got ginger chicken and general (Tso) chicken. The noodles were great and the chicken and veggies were all good sized and fresh as well. The egg roll was also good but only had a few bites as I didn't want anything deep fried. Hot and sour soup was good but only had 1 tofu cube in it. Everyone enjoyed their meal. Went with a friend for lunch and we were both extremely disappointed. We ordered food to go. Here are the issues; 1. Staff needs customer service training. My friend asked for shrimp to be added to her meal and asked how much it would be. The woman who was taking our orders said $1. My friend had already paid so I asked her to charge me the $1 and she said no. Then told us that it was $1 PER SHRIMP. Thats ridiculous and I feel Like she just made that up to price gouge. I'm quite sure that I read reviews stating that this place has generous portions. No it does not. At least not the lunch portions. It's cheap but the container is small in attempt to make it look like there's more food than there is. The crab wonton is TINY. Fried rice is terrible and dry and skimps on everything. 3. More detail about the food itself; fried rice is terrible. Very small amount of egg, nothing else. It had like 1/16th of an egg in my small Scoop of rice. Bland, no veggies. Egg roll; weird. Don't finish. Filling was different. Sweet and sour chicken; sauce tasted more like orange chicken sauce and color was off. Generous pineapple and peppers in it and chicken was good. Wonton; tiny.
