I ordered the General Tso Chicken, Tangerine Chicken and the Szechuan Dumpling in Sesame Sauce. The Sesame Sauce dumping was delicious and the General Tso Chicken was crispy, & the fried rice was pretty good. The tangerine chicken was almost the same as the general tso chicken, just a hint of tangerine. This is my 2nd time trying them, and this time around I am pretty happy with what I got / minus the tangerine chicken as it taste almost like the general tso chicken. I have been here several times now and overall I'd say it's good. Not the best ever but definitely one of the best in Collegeville. It's one of those places that some things are great and some things you just don't order again. The won ton soup and house special are delicious. The crispy noodle chips (if that's what they're called?) that come with it are also so good. The sesame chicken is not your typical sesame chicken but I thought was delicious anyway. A lighter sauce than we're used to but very tasty. Tasted like real chicken breast. Pu pu platter was solid- crab rangoons great, egg rolls great. sweet and sour chicken also good. Lo mein was pretty good. Tried the chicken amazing and it was amazing. Fresh chicken breast with vegetables in a light spicy sauce. I ordered pad Thai and I would not order it again. The dish was just okay and did not taste like pad Thai, although it is not a Thai restaurant so I can't fault them for that. It also had an oddly bright red color to it. I would also not order the walnut honey shrimp. The sauce was a little too thick and too intense for me. Overall this is a great option for Chinese food in the area and I will keep going here for certain things. read more

This is a newly opened family-run restaurant with great food, service and value for money. The food is freshly made and more of what I would call Chinese home cooking adapted to the American palate/consumer. All the dishes tasted fresh, including the hot and sour soup which was not the typically gloopy mess of indistinguishable ingredients but rather a harmonious blending of ingredients punctuated by the zing of freshly cut spring onions. The fried rice was really fluffy and delicious. The egg roll was fresh fried without being greasy. The Mongolian beef was a tad bit on the sweet saucy side and Ma La chicken had more of a pepper flavor than the Sichuan peppercorns. I wish they would be a bit more bold in their seasoning of dishes marked as spicy on their menu. But what was even better was the gracious service and the outstanding value of their menu. Collegeville is lacking a good many things, and a decent takeout Chinese food place is definitely on that list. Well, perhaps no longer. I honestly had no idea Rice House was there, and it seems as though they are very new to the area. I tried it today for lunch and was pleasantly surprised! Ordered online for in-store pick-up. Their website could use a bit more work, but it allowed me to order online easily and quickly. Got the job done for sure. Order took about fifteen minutes and was ready when I arrived to pick it up. Service at the restaurant was pleasant, though I only spoke with the one girl who took my payment. You can pay in-person or online, but I chose in-person this time. Restaurant itself is small, basically purpose built for takeout in the traditional "small front area, ordering counter, and huge kitchen in the back" layout. Order was a lunch portion of General Tso's with pork fried rice, some beef on a stick, and tangerine chicken. It was all delicious! Ok, the beef on a stick was average. Good flavor, but it needed to be cooked hotter or longer. No caramelization on the meat at all, and that really gives it some extra flavor. But very tender. The General Tso's and Tangerine chicken were both delicious! Lots of flavorful sauce, good cuts of chicken, and crispy! So many takeout chinese places in the area, you get the food, the chicken is soggy. Rice House's offering is crispy and crunchy even after I got it home, which I've been desperately missing. The pork fried rice had lots of flavor, but was not greasy, so a pleasant combination. Overall, this may be my new place for Chinese takeout, though I hope they improve the beef on a stick. That being said, if you like takeout chinese, definitely give this place a shot! read more

COCONUT CHICKEN IS TO DIE FOR!! I have been looking for a place that has this, and they have it! It's the best sauce I've ever had. Their house made duck sauce (I presume) is top notch delicious! They give it to you in a cup with a bag of noodle chips. They are the most reasonable and cheapest around. Great portions for the price. Most definitely my favorite spot now! This is phenomenal Chinese food. I am super picky about what Chinese I'll eat due to most of it being sus at best. NOT the case at Rice House, had walnut chicken and steamed veggie/chicken with a nice slightly spiced sauce on the side. Also tried the lo mein all out of this world delicious. Very good food! We ordered take out and the fried rice was delicious! It was flavorful and a bit crunchy, which is what should happen when it is friend but all too often the fried rice is just overcooked and soft. The general's chicken was also good, as was the garlic chicken and chicken lo mein. I was pleasantly surprised that there were many, well-cooked vegetables in the garlic chicken.
