The cook ! They have a new owner and cook. The quality of the food is terrible. I have gotten food there and it was not good. A friend of mine went there last week and her rice was not cooked and the flavor was not there and no vegetables in her meal she ordered. So 3 families will not be returning to this place. Called for carry out. I really liked the curry beef they had, but they took it off the menu. Ordered curry chicken with fried rice. It was very good and ample portion. Egg rolls are always good. I've never been disappointed there. No buffet, and dining room looks like a hole in the wall kind of place. That's why we always order it to go. Food is always good there and they are friendly. I went in on a somewhat busy sunday night and the restaurant was spotless. Anyone that's ever worked in a restaurant knows how hard it is to keep a busy kitchen clean but it was very neat. The food tasted great and only took about 15 minutes to get to me which was nice. There were two kids sitting at one of the tables playing quietly so the only real noise was coming from the kitchen. Just because it is open concept, i would not recommend sitting in because it is a tad loud but don't let it stop you from eating here! read more

The very best Chinese in the marion area! Their hot and sour soup is the best I've ever found. I enjoy the Kung Pao chicken because I love the spice or the Hot Singapore Chow Main with the curry noodles, so delicious! . But love chicken pepperoda - as well or the general Tao chicken or sweet and sour chicken. The egg rolls are just so delicious, better than anywhere in town. Always fresh and perfect. The Hong Kong Fried Rice is a favorite, egg rolls are great too! My kids love the Sweet/Sour Chicken and lo mein noodles. It is locally owned and operated. If you get there later in the evening, the family is making their dinner and having a meal together. The menu isn't much different than most of the Chinese restuarants in Grant Count but it is the best of the lot!! You won't be disappointed. read more

Hong Kong is by far the best Chinese in marion area !!! They have great lunch specials. Soup is included with lunches too. Won ton is the best around. I always get the chicken prepradda with the fried rice . Its way more than i could ever eat at one sitting. Also the egg rolls are the best ive had ANYWHERE !!! I would definitely recommend them as an appetizer. As other have stated it does usually flood about once a year or so. If there has been alot of rain and the river is high you may want to verify they are open before you drive there. After flooding it doesnt take long for them to reopen. I ordered the Chicken Pepperada with fried rice and Hot and Sour soup to go. The food was ready when I went in to pick it up, however they did not provide me with any utensils and they gave me pop in a soup cup. The meal cost around $17 which is high for the quality of food and service. The food itself was not good. The Hot and Sour soup was strongly overpowered by the taste of meat and nothing else. The Chicken Pepperada was bland and lacked any spice even though they say it's hot. The fried rice was bland and had no veggies and absolutely no flavor. I was disappointed with my entire order and will not be returning. read more

WOW what a find.... I was traveling in the middle of God forsaken Indiana and stumbled on this place and I was so happy I did. Thinking I'd have to settle for Subway or Pizza Hut this delicious gem was referred to me by my hotel and I'm still reeling from the awesome taste sensation. I had the fabulous chicken fried rice and Crab Rangoon (with actual crab, trust me I looked). My family and I have been going here for years. The egg rolls are homemade!! The family is so super nice and remember us and our orders every time. About once a year, though, high water from the river causes them to close, so call ahead if you live out of town. I love going to this place-it is a hidden gem in Grant county. read more

Pros: -Fast Food -Okayish atmosphere -Never crowded Cons: -Terrible food -Drink refills are rare, if even -pricy for what it is -kinda dark in the place To elaborate on the terrible food, it is just god awful. I couldn't eat because the food turned my stomach upside down and I felt like throwing up at the sight of food. Best part was probably the plain rice. Their food is worse than a blind person making spaghetti without help. It seemed like they went to the store purchased fake chinese food, then puked on it, added food color, tossed it all into a pot, threw fake food into it, and served it calling it edible food. My mother and I were disappointed and sick to our stomachs at the taste of their food. We didn't want to seem rude, so we took it home, just to dispose of it not in front of their face. One of Grant County's original and oldest Chinese restaurants, Hong Kong is the place to go for real Chinese cuisine. They have great prices and great food. The Mei family has really dedicated themselves to our community and brings their love of culture to each plate. I totally recommend their Sweet n Sour chicken and their Beef Chow Mein with Cantonese style noodles. The servers are very knowledgeable about each dish and food comes out pretty fast. It's great for singles, couples, families, and groups. All the food is prepared by hand; no packaged or nuked food here. I am not sure where some comments have been negative about this place since it's very open and is by the Missisenwa River (it is well lit). I have never had an issue with refills. I have never gotten sick on their food-because it is really good. Each dinner plate is an abundance of food. I can only say you will not find buffet style food but real Chinese Cuisine. read more
