Yadira was excellent! She's positive and cheerful and also acutely attuned to the needs of her clients. I was quite early to arrive for my appointment and decided to wait and relax while she finished with her client. The music was not the type I would enjoy during a spa treatment and I thought about what I would say if the music was the same during my session. Without asking Yadira knew exactly what to do and when I went in for my session she changed the music right away to something more relaxing and spa-like for her older client. That's exactly the kind of therapist I like working with- one who is attuned to her clients. Thank you!!! The facial was delightful and I will definitely be back. Big island Hilo Honolulu Spa-Malia has definitely gained me as a client as of today. They were able to squeeze me in on the same day. She is very professional and explained to me everything she was working on. I Had a very therapeutic deep and concentrated massage on all the areas that were a major concern for me. She focused on my needs and rubbed all the knots out of my lower back. She was very careful and always stopped to check if I was ok and comfortable with the pressure as I did request for a very deep massage. Just when I thought we were all done she used a nice warm hot towel to wipe my face, legs and arms down with her final finishing touch. I also added on the 20 minute express facial and she was very careful to use her light fragrance oils and soaps as I told her I have very sensitive skin and she was able to use their suction machine pen for my blackheads and balance all the dark spots on my face. Leaving my face feeling smooth and fresh. A 20 minute Complementary red light over my face to add more concentration to my facial, It happens to be their special for this month for free. Of course I had to stay and soak up every minute of the best treatment I ever felt in a long time for my face. All and all, it was worth every penny. I had my third visit today with Jamie. Since my first one three years ago I come back annually when in town. Jamie does such an awesome job. She is well versed in the products used. Today she recommended dermaplane over microderm. Apparently it's included in the signature facial. Which was a fun surprise that I didn't realize initially. I had also added on the hydrafacial. Rumor has it that there are only 3 of these machines on the Big Island. It is worth the add on. Anyhow, first experience with dermaplane was a success. My face feels so smooth and sucked up all the moisturizer. Between the soft music and the calming. atmosphere I nearly feel asleep. Jamie had some great new recommendations for product and even recommended some supplements for hydration. I will definitely be back on my next trip. I have been to the Hilo location about a dozen times now for facials and waxing. The majority of my services have been with Jamie and I can't say enough good things about her. Not only does she always put me at ease and engages in banter to redirect my mind off the pain of getting a wax, she is also skilled and quick with her work. I also got my first buccal facial ever on my birthday earlier this year with the owner, Grace, and it was fabulous. It released a lot of tension in my face and she even gave me some complimentary time under the red light. I've also gotten great samples of their products consistently. I had the HydraFacial by Heidi and it was such a wonderful experience. It was my first time trying this procedure and she did a great job explaining the whole process along with the benefits. It was a perfect balance of medical like treatments that felt really effective along with a relaxing massage and nourishing treatment at the end. A facial like no other! Received my very first HydraFacial with the lovely Grace, who instantly made me feel comfortable & at ease from start to finish throughout the treatment. The treatment began with a relaxing face wash, complete with a mini massage & a warm lemongrass towel wrap. Grace throughly explained each step of the facial & how it benefits your skin. I found each step of the HydraFacial to be gentle on the skin despite the obvious suctioning sounds. I am utterly impressed with the end results! Having sensitive skin, I've received a facial or two in the past that left my face red & splotchy. That definitely wasn't the case here! I left the treatment room feeling glowy & refreshed, & much to my delight & surprise, sans redness & irritation! Hours later, my skin still feels the smoothest it's ever been. Don't be deterred by the location! It's not ideal, but once you're inside Heidi's room, you'll be 100% at ease. The room was comfortable and clean, and Heidi was amazing! She explained each step of the HydroFacial to me before we started, and then answered all of my questions during. She also checked in with me throughout the process, making sure the suction was right and making sure I was comfortable. Heidi's knowledge and her love of her craft made for an amazing experience. However, the owners were kind enough to extend it a few days later so that I could experience it. I booked by text and it was a very easy process. I was booked with Tungavidya who has a lot of experience in skin care & massage. Her customer service was great from the moment I walked in, til the moment I left.
