I tried the spicy ahi poke bowl at this mom-and-pop spot and thought it was just okay. The flavors were decent, but it didn't really stand out compared to other poke bowls I've had. That said, they do offer a nice variety of other bowls and sushi options, so there's plenty to choose from if spicy ahi isn't your go-to. It's a solid neighborhood spot with options for different tastes.

Always nice to have a quick lunch to go from this place. The owners are nice (they love babies, so if you're not comfortable with people pinching your baby's cheeks, this place might be not for you). I don't mind it, but I prefer them not to haha. The grilled salmon maki is my favorite. I don't eat raw fish so I cant review how fresh their menu is. All in all, pretty good for what it's worth.

Conveniently located next to the mall on piikoi. Some metered parking right outside the restaurant. There are also 3 tables there if you wanna dine in but it's mostly a takeout spot. The fish was fresh albeit not the top cut. I thoroughly enjoyed their freshly made hamachi roll and rainbow roll! The rice and other ingredients were also good. You can place an order online for pick up. I like how they don't close till 8pm (last order 7:30) so you can get their food for dinner, not just for lunch.

My husband and I ordered Red Dragon roll, California Tempura roll, order of shrimp tempura and an order of vegetable tempura. This place is a mom and pop establishment that has outstanding food. The owners are super nice and obviously love to please patrons with their great food and service. Take out is available but you can also eat in. There's a great selection of food so you're bound to find something you like and the prices are reasonable. Try it!

Food was amazing, the service was fantastic. The gentleman behind the counter went out of his way to accommodate my request. Everything is a great price. The ambiance is very nice as well, with it being in close proximity to our hotel whilst maintaining a cozy atmosphere.

    Menu

Chicken katsu bowl is a go to for someone who loves the crunch of panko. Comes with a bit of imitation crab and drizzle of a savory sauce on a bed of white rice. The spicy ahi roll is a clean and not fishy, good amount of spicy mayo and well cooked rice. This is not a place to pig out. Prices are expected for a small hole in the wall. Everything made to order by the nice old couple that runs this place. Definitely a place to go and check out.

Ordered from uber eats and not sure if the delivery person refrigerated this or if the roll was cold to begin with? I was expecting a warm roll since the salmon was grilled? But pretty big sized roll and the flavor's good.

I came to Honolulu Sushi at 7pm on a Thursday, and it was completely empty. There were only two people working, and the lady in the front was very welcoming. She was very patient as I took a long time to order. My mom and I shared the ahi poke bento, and I got a vegetable hand roll for myself. The ahi poke bento was a really good deal at around $15. It came with 4 nigiri (ahi, salmon, shrimp, tamago), 3 hosomaki (cucumber, takuan, and ahi) and a decent amount of ahi poke and rice. The poke was super fresh, but a little over seasoned for my liking. The vegetable hand roll was okay. It had lettuce, cucumber, avocado, kampyo, and takuan. I wish the vegetables were distributed more evenly because in my first few bites I was just eating lettuce and rice. I did takeout, but there are a few tables inside. The parking lot here is small and confusing to navigate.

Would definitely return, the service was good, there's lots of options, and the food was super tasty. My only note is they go a little heavy on the rice. The rice is super tasty but in the making roll it was a bit heavy! I got a grilled salmon maki and a crunch bowl. They were both amazing.

The sushi here is delicious and tastes so fresh! It's also pretty affordable too, I got this pack of 8 nigiri for about $15. The spot is a little hidden, it's in an area with other vendors.

The sushi is always on point at this place. My favorite is the Honolulu bento. It has four nigiris (ahi, salmon, ebi and hamachi) California roll, spicy ahi on rice, shrimp tempura and veggie tempura. I haven't been here in about two years, but the size of the nigiris have shrunk. The rice and the slice of fish is much smaller. They also swapped out my hamachi with tamago without telling me. Did they think that I wasn't going to notice? With everything being said the food was still very good. The chicken katsu salad was decent. The piece of fried chicken was crispy and the meat was tender. They didn't put any dressing on the salad though.

Everything we ordered was so yummy!! The service was great; we got our food in less than 10 minutes and the staff were very friendly and attentive. Favorite spot from our trip!

They occasionally offer salmon as well! Obviously the dining ambiance is prolly the downside as it's a simple outdoor patio in front of the venue, but hey it does the job! We got their combo of Wasabi Ahi and Spicy Salmon, both of which we really love. I might like the sauce from the other well known place tad better, but would say this one was certainly delectable!

I missed the photo op but there was nothing captivating. The spicy sauce on the spicy salmon couldn't cover up the gamey taste. Same goes for the miso ahi, but it was slightly better than the salmon. The poke wasn't cut consistently, had some stringy pieces, and wasn't cold enough either. It seemed like it had been saturated for a while, too slimy. Plastic or styrofoam bowls would definitely help with the presentation. They're currently charging $20 for poke bowls served in a mini plate lunch container filled with mostly rice. The best part of the trip was the gelato. It's not theirs, they are vendors for Il Gelato. The dragonfruit and mango lilikoi combo made up for the mediocre poke. I would return for the gelato.

The shop is located downstairs in a food court-style area with shared seating nearby. If it's your first time, be aware you'll need to walk down a flight of stairs to find it. The menu has a huge variety of poke, which is great, although it was a little overwhelming deciding what to order. Ordering itself is quick and straightforward. I ordered a regular bowl ($18) with the tako limu, spicy salmon, and shoyu tuna. The biggest thing to consider here is the value. At $18 for a regular bowl, I expected both exceptional quality and bold flavors. While the fish quality was excellent, the seasoning didn't quite match the price point for me. Shoyu Tuna - Unfortunately my least favorite of the three. It lacked seasoning and tasted fairly plain. They do provide soy sauce packets, but I personally don't expect to have to season poke myself at this price point. Madako Limu - Easily the standout. The octopus was cut into generous chunks, giving it a great texture, and it had the most balanced, flavorful seasoning of the three selections. Spicy Salmon - The salmon itself was fresh and buttery, and I liked that it included masago for added texture. However, despite the name, it wasn't spicy and the overall flavor was pretty mild. One thing I can't criticize is the quality of the fish. Everything tasted very fresh, with buttery texture and no sinew or chewy pieces, which speaks to the quality of the seafood. Overall, I can understand why people come here for the freshness of the fish. If you prefer lightly seasoned poke that lets the seafood shine, this may be your style. Personally, I was hoping for more flavor to justify the price, so while I'm glad I tried it, there are other poke spots I'd choose first.

I liked that there was a condiment bar at the end to add any toppings you wanted. The fish was fresh and well seasoned, with no fishiness at all. I just wished there was a bit more white onion for crunch, but it was good regardless. The Fish and Chips were really good. The fish was super crispy, the meat was firm, and the fries were nicely fried. The tartar sauce or maybe more of a lemony aioli, was the star. It wasn't your usual tartar sauce; it had a homemade lemony sweetness that made it delicious. My only complaint was that the batter came off the fish pretty easily, which made it a bit tricky to eat at times.

Now I've had a lot of these in my life, and I must say, Iyasume are easily the best. See musubi and onigiri have humble origins as a quickly made homespun snack or on the go lunch, and when you spot them in the convenience environment they're often a giant ball of rice with a tinge of protein or seasoning for flavor. At Iyasume, these are culinary adventures, stacked with ingredients, all in handheld form, and the variety they offer is IMPRESSIVE! Of course musubi starts with the classic, SPAM.
