i have long been involved with cigna at 3003 n. 3rd street - phoenix, and their prior address. my doctor - pc - dr. dean martin - a wonderful - kind - thoughtful gentleman, and dr. pam williams in vision too - with dr. johnson - and of course in pediatary dr. william burke - all so helpful to me as well as their nurses and associates. thank you friends. one of my medications (seizure - dr. morkovitz - formerly cigna and how with phoenix neurological associates) levetiracetam 2 pills a day - seems to create great and intense dreams at night - of happenings of just years ago very realistic indeed - and generally a real relif when one "wakes up" to normality and makes one think - "oh thank the good lord - that was just a dream - and it happens every niht - and not always fun when it is time - ok "bed-time ......." i am learning to "live with it ! horrible - sometimes ! I was very disappointed with the service I recieved at this facility, I received a vaccination and not only I was not informed about the charges before hand, but I also received a substantial bill that my insurance didn't cover. The lack of communication and not informing patients about their payment responsibilities before providing services is unacceptable. read more

Went for a 5 day long sore throat. Pulled up and parking lot has 15+ parking spots for alternative fuel vehicles- I've never seen that many alternative vehicles in Phoenix at a baseball game or anywhere! What a waste. -Waited 25 minutes past my scheduled appt time. -nurse practitioner was going to write a script for a zpak then changed her mind to augmentin. I advised her that antibiotic has never worked for me in the past. She still prescribed it. -3 days on antibiotic, and they aren't working. Called first thing in the morning for a new script....because eating/drinking still hurts. -End of day and still no call back. Tomorrow will be 8th day with sore throat. Called PCP desk back and was told because of short staff- I'd have to wait till tomorrow. Now I remember why I stopped going to the Cigna Eugie Center- oblivious people working there. I haven't been treated poorly, and I hate doctors, but I am comfortable coming here. My doctor is professional and relatable and hears me out. The staff are polite and do their jobs quickly and without stress. I like that we have a pharmacy right in the building. Easy to access from Light Rail and bus. They also have their own lab and Urgent Care. If you're with Cigna, this is the most hassle free way to find and commit to a primary care doctor. Have now been to this location twice - for ultrasound and in urgent care. Every single staff member is genuinely nice (I mean seriously I was MISERABLE when I went in today and they got me to smile and laugh). The facility is clean, looks more like a hotel lobby, the exam rooms are pretty typical but are very clean. Urgent care had no wait, I feel like everyone I've seen there is much more borough than anywhere else I've been. My only suggestion - bring a sweater - exam rooms are chilly! read more

The new facility (a few years old now) is head & shoulders above the old facility. I've had good & bad experiences with the Dr.'s both specialist & PCP. I've had both awesome & piss poor help from the pharmacy. The lab people & nurses line have never let me down. Having said that I'm glad my Mom's has healthcare that doesn't suck every visit & she's comfy so I wouldn't dream of moving her because as a senior routine is everything. So this place is A-OK in mine & Moms book. read more

I went in 2 weeks ago with cramping and diarrhea that went on for more than 3 days. When the Dr came in to do my check up, he simply asked me if I ate any shellfish or consume anything out of the ordinary. I explained I did not and he asked me, the patient, what I thought I should do to clear this up. He asked me if I thought he should order a stool sample and if I wanted medication for the nausea. I wasn't having nausea, I was extremely dehydrated and in pain because I couldn't keep in any liquids down, not knowing why I was having these symptoms. The lab tests came back 4 days later, no one called me to explain them. 7 days later, a rep calls me to ask me if I had logged into my chart to get my lab results. While in the waiting area, I overheard a Dr tell a patient that they should continue giving the child Tylenol after having 4 days of a fever over 102. That should of been a sign to me to not continue my visit. I once trusted this facility, now I'd rather pay my ER deductible than entrust the Dr and staff with my life. read more

This is a very nice facility that is clean and new. That being said, the pharmacy told me this morning that my 3 prescriptions would be ready at 8:30am. I arrived at 10:30am to find that my medications had not even been put into the system to be made! I was forced to sit and wait in the lobby for an hour while they made the medications. The staff is nice, but it is extremely frustrating to waste an entire hour sitting idle when they had assured me that the medication would be ready upon arrival and it was not. Found a really good PCP in the family medicine department. She listens, validates my concerns, and treats. She's the only doctor I trust and She's been able to get me well. Urgent care - except for one really young doctor who is rude, condescending, and disrespectful- is really good. read more

I was denied care at this facility over when it is appropriate to ask patients for the copay. I will not pay for services before they are rendered; thus, when I objected to paying before seeing the doctor, I was told to leave. When I told the staff that if I had a serious condition and that by refusing treatment they were potentially opening themselves to the possibility of a lawsuit, I was told "go ahead and sue us." This behavior is abhorrent. I will be reporting this facility to the state medical board. read more

This review concerns the urgent care and specifically Dr. McShane (or something along those lines). Went in Wednesday sick as a dog. He treated me like a drug seeker (I would know, I worked in a pharmacy for some time), didn't listen to my symptoms and now three days later I'm significantly worse. Called the office and broke down crying out of frustration and pain and he begrudgingly agreed to give me a Z Pack when I just told him- in broken sentences- that I can't swallow. How I'm going to take it I have no idea. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME HERE. The doctors are fine, but the staff in the vision department sucks balls. I'm disabled and on a dual-eligible Medicare HMO Special Needs Plan (SNP). The person there kept insisting that "Medicare doesn't cover contact lenses" (which my plan does, because it's not straight Medicare, but SNP.) Not to mention, I ordered contacts there with the same insurance last year. I had to get member services to call this shrew and tell her everything the plan covers because she refused to order contacts for me. Also, they always try to charge me a contact lens "fitting fee" which I'm not responsible for. I told her, "every time I come here you try to charge me this fee which is covered by my plan, so send me a bill and I'll do what I have to do." This woman then told me "They probably write it off. No insurance covers fitting fees. I'm including a note in here stating that you were informed of the fee so they won't write it off." Write it off? It's a covered benefit in the goddamn Evidence of Coverage! It states, and I quote, "Note: Contact lens fitting fee is covered by the plan." It's like I personally bothered her because I wasn't going to pay. (What, does she get a cut of it or something?) Yeah, go ahead and write your little fucking note if it makes you feel better. This is the worst place if you have a health issue. I am writing about the Cigna Medical Group in central Phoenix. I am not familiar with their other locations, but this could be representative of their culture of not caring for their customers. The front desk is a big barrier between you and the doctor. I have filed complaints with their customer service more than once. The front desk is not a trained medical person and should not decide whether you should see a doctor or not, and which doctor. I tried to reach them through their website but that option is not available. Their website shows 'Contact us' but it doesn't take you to an email or a phone option. Sadly my employer offers only this as an option for health insurance. If you have a choice, please do not go for Cigna. My experience with them has been the worst among insurance companies. One time I had an appointment with their nurse practitioner and she was late by at least 45 minutes. The consultation was not satisfactory either. I will never ask for her again. read more

I was referred to Dr.Dopke by a family member and this crazy woman barely met me, not knowing anything about me, cut me off ALL my prescriptions cold turkey. I got so sick from the sudden withdrawal I was on bed rest for about two weeks vomiting nonstop. I went back to my old doctor and he was able to ween me off of my medicine slowly till I got better. I took my 6 year old daughter in to be seen for a high fever, cough, ear pain, and sore throat. The doctors wrote her off as just a cold because she was talkative. They tested for strep and nothing else although her fever had been going on for 3 days. They sent us on our way after paying $75 saying she could go back to school the next day. That day and the following day, her fever persisted and her cough got worse. Two days after being seen I call to see if they can check her again since they were obviously wrong the first visit. They informed me that I would have to pay another $75 to have my daughter seen. The person I talked to was rude and uncaring. I will never go back to this location. read more

The doctors suck, last time it took 6 times to write a rx correctly, i guess she could not copy the last rx, which I have been on since 2000. then it took 8 times to write my second rx correctly, so now I have to go pick them up at 3 different times each time I get a refill. They sent me the bill for my husband's account, we live in different states. They sent it to me with a wrong last name. Maybe they should bill the party who had the work done and not the insurance holder. And if they are going to bill the insured, you would think they would get the insured's name correct. My husband has lived in AZ due to poor health for 4 years and this is the first time I have ever been billed for his services.
