I had a Telehealth appointment with this high risk doctor 6/4/2025 at 11 am I came into the Chandler location and I'm still waiting for them to call me from the phoenix location Dr. Strong called me 50 mins later, he did not know how to speak to me in a way a doctor should, I'm there for a reason and he did nothing but put me in distress during the phone call I had to hang up and I started hyperventilating and had a panic attack, the nurses had to come in and calm me down. Dr. Strong should not be allowed to practice in this industry especially with hormonal pregnant women at a high risk for multiple things. read more

Overall decent experience here. Came along with my wife for her 4D scanning. Checkin was fast and wife was in scanning room pretty soon too. Staff was super nice and welcoming to wife's questions. Only complain we have is the long wait for the doctor. Many people were in queue and my wife had to wait for 45 mins almost even though her appointment was already there. Some mismanagement for sure. I hate leaving bad reviews, however, I feel that management really needs to see this to restructure the clinic. The only reason why I'm leaving two stars is because my experiences with the ultrasound techs were actually good, however, that is the ONLY positive thing I can say about this place. 1) They hardly ever answer their phones. And if they do, you can expect to wait at least 20-40 minutes to get any help. (Which I just don't understand because they have plenty of staff). 2) Scheduling here is a nightmare. I waited 30 minutes on the phone just to have them tell me that they haven't received my referral and that I'd have to call back or wait for a text. I finally got a text a week later and was told they could only help me schedule one of the three things I was referred there for... I just left it alone at that point and decided to schedule the rest once I was actually in the clinic. 3) I showed up to my appointment 10 minutes early. Waited for another 30 minutes to get roomed. They take me back for triage. Then told me they needed to talk to the provider, Catherine Sendek, PA. Catherine takes a look at my glucose logs and says there's no reason I need to be there even though my OBGYN, Dr Amaya referred me there for a gestational diabetes consult. At this point, I've already waited for an hour. I asked to at least speak to Catherine as I could help clear up the confusion, plus I've been waiting for an hour for the appt, and have also already paid my copay. However, I'm told by the MA that she refuses to see me because she disagrees with my OB's diagnosis of gestational diabetes. I asked if they were sure, and they said yes. I asked if they could at least refund my copay. They said it would be taken care of. I asked for a receipt and they said you'll have to call billing for that. So I finally leave, then I get a call later that Catherine, the PA spoke to my OB and asked if I could come back or a do a telemedicine visit... ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! After you guys were completely inconsiderate of my time?! I actually had to leave work to come there. Absolutely not. Note: The clinic was definitely not busy while I was there. 4) A few days later, I see a charge on my CC for the visit that they said they would refund!! I called the clinic and was put on hold for way too long! At that point, I just hung up and called my credit card to deal with it. 5) The receptionist staff is extremely unfriendly and not helpful. It's hard to say where the breakdown here is. I am currently a high risk pregnancy. The care I have received is subpar. For brevity I'll list my grievances: 1) Sent for blood tests at labcorp since they dont do in house testing. My results just posted ONE MONTH LATER on labcorp and valley perinatal's website, Rather disturbing since one was a glucose test. The office excuse- oh if there was a problem we would call you... yeah right. 2) Went in for baby monitoring of heartbeat, movement, and contractions. You're left in a room alone hooked up to monitors. They say someone is watching the session via computer in the other room, however: Halfway through baby's heartbeat is lost -- alarm was sounding -- no one came for 2 minutes (may have been more) and upon entry they ask if 'baby moved'. They adjust monitors and ask if I've eaten that morning and give me a bottle of water and tell me to drink it. Okay... they dont explain why. At the end of 20 mins a different person comes in and tells me they have to continue for another 15 or so minutes since baby's heart rate had gone offline during that time halfway thru. At the end of session baby's heart rate starts to accelerate beyond 160 into 170 territory (120-160 is 'normal range) alarm goes off for 5 minutes. 2 mins in I yell for someone. No one comes. I start to get up bc now I am panicked. Yet again a different person comes in and proceeds to tell me it's 'okay' and that they were waiting to see baby's heart rate fluctuate a bit since it had been pretty flat throughout which is why O had to drink the water. Made no mention of the increased heart rate... said everything looked fine and that someone was monitoring me the whole time. So why the 5 minute delay whilst the alarm was sounding???!! Does an expectant mother w a high risk pregnancy really need to go through all of that anxiety provoking sh*+?! At 32 weeks? 3) Each time I've needed to speak w doctor, I have called in morning before 11- they say they've contacted him and he'll get back to me. EACH TIME I have to call back at 4 to follow up- they THEN connect me. Twice I've had to go to ER after speaking w the dr but had to wait all day to be told that?! 4) I've been assigned to a doctor who works there part time. I've been seeing him since Nov. I was just informed he isn't in charge of my pregnancy and that the other doctor who I started seeing in Feb is. In fact, the doctor I THOUGHT I was seeing isnt able to deliver at the hospital I am assigned to deliver at. Oh, and the one who is, doesnt do vaginal births only csections. So should I have a vaginal birth yet ANOTHER doctor will do the delivery. 5) Referrals take forever-- one was for a kidney ultrasound -- I had to follow up myself aggressively to get this scheduled- the kidney place calls me the day before the appt and tells me they haven't been able to get my records from the office. They almost cancelled my appt. thank goodness I had ER records that they could use instead. Another referral has still not been completed - it's been a Month. Oh and the latest one finally went through after I lit a fire under EVERYONE's ass but the office they referred me to can't see me until May 11 (more than a month after I requested referral). I deliver in June. 6) Only saving grace??? Ultrasound techs seem to know what they're doing. Worst care ever. I've run myself ragged following up countless times to ensure my pregnancy stays one track. Change doctors you say? I initially did because Estrella Women's Clinic sucks too. But here's the thing I'm new to the area and have no clue where TRUE QUALITY prenatal care can be found. One thing's for sure-- it isn't at Valley Perinatal. read more

This place is horrible. The staff is very unprofessional. They don't know their head from their ass. They schedule appointments for you then when you drive nearly an hour to the office they have no appointment. They then proceed to argue you down like you don't know wth you were sent there for. Also very racist, my pregnant daughter and I were the only AA people in the waiting area. They refused to see us even though we were scheduled because they couldn't figure out what the visit was for. I was super nervous to go to my 20wk ultrasound by myself because of this covid-19 bullsh*t, but upon entering VPS, your nerves are instantly calmed. The woman working the front desk was very friendly and quick to answer question. The other expecting mothers in the waiting room are chatty and fun. The environment is very clean! My appointment was set for 2pm, and I was seen around 2:30. This is a NORMAL wait time at a doctors office, may I add. Rooms need to be sterilized for a certain amount of time between patients, and technicians who rush thru every appointment are technicians who don't care. Be thankful you aren't being rushed in, or out! My technician Andrea was outstanding! She was very respectful of my specifications and needs throughout the entire appointment, which I found to be very professional and relieving. Outside of that, she extremely fun to talk to and my appointment flew by. The ultrasound pictures she took of the baby were printed as soon as I left because they were so cute! It was nice to know she took her time and cared enough to get the best pictures for me and my fiancé. She deserves a trophy lol! She made the appointment phenomenal. I highly recommend this place. I have banner university family insurance and it completely covered the cost of my ultrasound which was a blessing. 10/10 read more

NO DOCTOR REVIEWED MY FILE BEFORE AN AMNIOCENTESIS WAS RECOMMENDED. BEWARE. I went in for a routine 18 week anatomy scan, which is an ultrasound where the purpose is to check the baby's measurements in detail and organ function, to confirm growth is on track and that there are no fetal abnormalities. I was told it would be a 1-1.5 hour appointment. The sonographer had us in the room for, at most, 25 minutes. She then sent us back to the waiting room and we were called back to speak to the Physicians Assistant. The PA told us that the scan turned up 3 abnormalities - 1) fetal nasal bone hypoplasia. She said the nose bone of the baby was in the less than 1 percentile. In her words, the baby's nose bone measured so short that it was almost completely absent. This is a soft marker for down syndrome. 2) A fetal ventricular septal defect (VSD) - this is basically a hole in the baby's heart. A heart abnormality and a 2nd soft marker for down syndrome. and 3) An Echogenic Focus - Another heart abnormality, that although common and likely to resolve itself before birth, can be a 3rd marker for down syndrome. --- My husband and I were beside ourselves, this was the first indication of any abnormality in the pregnancy. The PA recommended our next step was to book (right then and there) an amniocenteses if we wanted more information on the possibility of down syndrome. An Amnio comes with risks of miscarriage (~1 in 200) and infection etc. We were very hesitant, so we decided to take a breath, ask questions and do some research on our own before booking - thank God. One huge red flag was when I asked the PA "what exactly is the nasal bone measuring at?" The PA's response was "I'm sorry that information wasn't provided to me, I am only going off the notes from the sonographer" -- Fast-forward to 3 painfully stressful weeks later. We were FINALLY able to get into another Perinatal Office in Scottsdale for a 2nd opinion. This was when we learned our experience at Valley Perinatal was not normal. The sonographer completed a scan and did a deeper dive into the heart function, trying to replicate the VSD noted from the 1st scan. She spent over an hour with us. Then the Doctor came in, and he double checked all of her findings, and then went through them in detail with us. Total time, over 2 hours. The doctor measured the nasal bone exactly in line with an average baby at this point in pregnancy. The VSD - unable to reproduce. This experience at Scottsdale Perinatal could have turned up more abnormal results, but at least my husband and I would have felt confident that the proper professionals spent the time to really confirm the abnormalities. But they were confident everything was normal. To add insult to injury, after having both scans, I was charged for 2 appointments (1 scan/1 consult) at Valley, and 1 appointment at Scottsdale (scan/consult charged as 1) - for the exact same thing. Which Valley told me is just how they do it, you pay 1 fee for scan, and another fee for a doctor to review it with you - since I went to two places, I can tell you thats not normal. Then after consulting with the Director of Operations at Valley (due to the billing and overall issues), she confirmed that she checked the time stamps and that, in fact, no Doctor had reviewed my scan results prior to the PA reviewing the results with me and recommending the Amnio. And the PA is simply reading the "notes from the Sonographer" before recommending an invasive procedure as the next step. Then double charging for this service?! Doesn't this seem pretty unacceptable, and honestly negligent and dangerous? For an unqualified sonographer's opinion to be what is used to make recommendations, and not a PA, much less a Doctor. Having experienced 2 different versions of the same appointment, I can tell you, DONT GO TO VALLEY PERINATAL. read more

I don't know what else to do other than leave the worst with you possible for this place. If it's in your control do not come here. I I can't imagine treating a clearly delicate pregnant woman as rude and unprofessional as their front desk staff could be. You clearly drive very far out of our way to visit the specialist and when we get there if there is an issue based on their miscommunications they will be rude to you and treat you like you are completely stupid. I told them I used the last of my gas money to get to this appointment and they stared at me like I was pathetic and then that there was nothing they could do for me and I should've known about a no children allowed rule that was never indicated to me before showing upwhen I have no support to help me watch them. read more

I was reluctant because I was not dissatisfied with my other ultrasounds but my experience here was go GOOD that I'll be coming back for all my pregnancies. I normally go to Pinnacle Perinatal, but they weren't able to see me until end of week, so I asked my birth center for a referral to Valley. They have several locations and were able to fit me in same day at this location. I went in because I did the dumb Progenity blood work (note to self: don't do that- just do a regular NT ultrasound, you're far less likely to get a false positive blood report) and got a positive 9% chance for a birth abnormality. The ultrasound tech, Veronica, was thorough and awesome. Dr Patil went out of his way to come in and consult with me and my husband on the ultrasound. We went into the place really stressed out and left feeling great. From billing on the phone to the front desk staff, everyone was really great and I felt like more people should know about this. read more

My OB referred me to this office for an anatomy scan. After the scan, I saw the Dr. He had 2 other people in his office taking notes. First he said everything looked good...BUT...then he said my baby had markers for Down syndrome. The markers given were the "flatter profile" of my baby's nose and a heart defect. By this time I had been asked 3 times if I'd had genetic testing done yet. I was immediately pushed into genetic testing, not asked. I was so scared I didn't feel like there was any other choice. Upon the Dr. explaining that I should take baby aspirin, he paused and asked me if I needed to take notes or something. His tone was condescending and insulting. Luckily I received emails directly from the genetic testing company as the office didn't call until a day or 2 later with results. As a result of me feeling extremely uncomfortable with my and my baby's care at this office I had my OB refer me elsewhere. They looked over the previous report as well and performed their own evaluation. The measurements on my baby's nasal bone, which is the actual marker for Down syndrome as opposed to the profile of a child's nose, was normal. It showed a normal size, even in the initial report. Also, after an in depth echocardiogram, his heart was perfect. No defects. Granted, these could have closed up, but the fact that both initial observations were dispelled does not seem like a coincidence. BEWARE of this office. Seems like something predatory and unethical is happening to scare mothers into further testing. read more

I have been visiting this location for over 4 years and have been there several times and always have had a lovely experience. However this last time I went in for my anatomy ultrasound, it was a total mess. I was aware we could take visitors so I took with me my husband and 3 year old son (who I was there previously for his prenatal visits). Well as soon I walked in to the ultrasound room with my child and husband, my child turned the light on and this ultrasound tech by the name of AMY, immediately scolded him. And not in a nice polite way, no very rude and unpleasant like if she was talking to one of her own children. I let it slide because of course he shouldn't be doing that. However, as she was doing the ultrasound my child walked around the room behind her and she said "NO , go over there, you better go sit down with your dad!!" It felt like such a hostile environment, so rude and inpatient with my child she was so clearly annoyed. I was so upset and angry already I couldn't believe this woman was talking to my child in such way. And both my husband and I were actually already talking to him and trying to settle him, it wasn't like we were just watching him do whatever. My child then turned the light on one more time and she said "Alright ! THATS IT!, I'm gonna ask you to take him to the lobby, you're gonna need to get out of here"( speaking to my husband) . And she kicked my husband and child out of the room. I am so disgusted by this woman's attitude! How rude and what a gross attitude she has. Because of her I am done doing business with this office. What should have been a beautiful experience for my family and I was completely ruined by her snobby attitude. They made my appt for a different location then the address the rep gave me over the phone. Apparently, I was told that happens a lot. It definitely was not a "quick visit", but he made sure to answer all of my questions completely and went over the details of all of my current medications as far as interactions with the pregnancy and all of my health issues and concerns. Came here with my hubby to get an our second ultrasound to check if I still had placenta previa we'd been told I had on my previous ultrasound. The technician addressed our concerns and put both of us at ease, showing us our baby was growing fine and we had nothing to worry about. She was very thorough checking for the placenta previa, since I was worried...apparently the previous tech (from another ultrasound office) didn't do such a great job since there was no reason for concern, I never had placenta previa to begin with. I wish I could remember the ultrasound tech's name because she was so great, but I'm notoriously awful with names. The tech was very friendly and knowledgeable. You could tell she really loves her job. She even made the baby's sex reveal fun for my husband and I. I would definitely recommend them. If/when we have another baby I would definitely come back here to see my little one. The wait was short to get seen after checking in and the staff are friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. read more

I have had very conflicting experiences here. There is one ultrasound tech who I had twice who did an absolutely amazing job. I wish I remembered her name. I cannot explain how comforting and kind she was, nonetheless GOOD at her job! Explaining everything she was doing with excitement and joy. ***If it weren't for her there would be far less stars. I had two three other technicians during visits, one was good and two were okay. I don't like to have someone doing an ultrasound all around my pregnant belly and not really explaining much / being mostly silent. It's just not a fun experience and it really should be. My main problem is with one of the main ultrasound Doctors, Dr. Patil. A couple weeks into my third trimester I had an ultrasound with a tech who seemed very new, the scrotum and penis of my son had been seen in the last ultrasound, but this tech couldn't find a view of his penis. No biggie, he was a big baby already and smooshed around in there, always stubborn trying to hide himself. Tech left the room saying things are great; We waited 45 minutes at least to have Dr. Patil come in and immediately concern us from the beginning. He has the tech redo the ultrasound to find the penis like it was a huge deal, then went on to tell us how RARE and ABNORMAL our son was because he had a scrotum and likely no penis, that we needed to get additional blood work done, asked if I had done chromosomal blood work (that I had done just not with this company) and implied our son had a ton of problems that really freaked us out. My boyfriend and I cried after the appointment because we were so confused and scared. Come to find out later after some research that this happens all the time, penis goes unseen especially in chunky babies and during third trimester because they're so squished in there! I really felt cheated and scammed, that extra blood work made them at least another $100. Then they sent my OB a request for another ultrasound because of the concern. I said I'm not going back and giving them more money they're tricking me out of, especially when the doctor let us leave so worried about our child and made me think all this nonsense, doctors aren't supposed to stress you out even when there ARE concerns! Baby boy was born just fine, penis and all, thanks for breaking our hearts and terrifying us, Doc. :/ read more

Nice staff, yet when u arrive for your appointment be prepared to wait for 30-45min to be called back and the appointment can take up to 3 hrs. The dietitian is alright, but is not a M.D. and will bring in docs thst have not looked at your records to tell you what she feels like you should do. And I have PCOS and for those that know, women with PCOS should not eat breads or dairy, yet she insist on me eating them. And she will prescribe medication that will make you ill, when I said the meds are makin my stomach hurt, it was dismissed. Make sure they take ur blood pressure right. You never take BP over ur tshirt sleeve or with air in the cuff. Women of color tend to have high BP in general, you would think they know that. I gave them 3 stars bc the ladies are super friendly, if it wasnt for them I would have asked my gynecologist to send me somewhere else. And be prepared to see pregnant women smoking in front of the office. read more

We are here to monitor a high risk pregnancy which is already scary and stressful. The office cancelled our appointment for a 36 week anatomy scan 24 hours before the appointment saying the office was closed. The appointment had been booked for months. They called my emergency contact to tell them the appt was cancelled without ever calling me. I tried reaching them by phone for over 24 hours to reschedule. No answer, no call back. Terrible. I finally took off work and went in to physically speak to them. Front desk staff rude and unhelpful. We now have an appointment that is at a totally undesirable date and time. We've been here before and did not have this experience. This place has gone downhill. read more

I didn't have a great experience here. For one thing, I've never actually met a doctor here. The last time I was there, the doctor was ON THE PHONE in her office, viewing my ultrasounds on a screen while the tech was performing the ultrasounds. The doctor then relayed information to the tech to give to me, but never bothered to walk down the hall to say hello, have a face-to-face conversation, or ask me if I had any questions. I came here several times for confirmation of miscarriage and never once had a tech (or anyone else) say something nice or sympathetic, even when I was clearly crying. I had a service here and they told me I had to pay a certain amount at the time of service(which most offices do) even though I knew my deductible was met. They told me they don't bill insurance untill after the appointment. It would have been nice to know it would of been weeks after. I had called to get a refund after my insurance filed my claim. The office told me it would be 60 days before they can do that. The 60 days for some reason started two weeks after my visit/payment. Then after the 60 days another 7-8 week to receive the refund. This office have been giving me the run around and it is not fair that they don't even talk with insurance first. I wish I had paid way less to being with but I had no idea it would take four months to get a refund. This has never ever happened with any other doctor I have ever had. Very disappointed. On top of that it took two hours after my appointment time that I was even seen by the doctor. Two hours!!! read more
