Located on a bluff above Eagle Harbor, there is ample outdoor seating to enjoy the massive expanse of water and sky. A curving set of wood and stone steps lead down to the water where one can barbeque, go kayaking, sit and relax, or walk on the beach. I saw an eagle swoop on some cormorants that were sitting out on a floating dais (they dove and easily escaped him). The view of Mt. Rainier from the beach is unique and if one walks down a ways one can see the Seattle skyline. The place is everything it is advertised to be: the windows overlook Eagle Harbor with the ferries coming and going, the kitchen is well equipped and the stove has gas burners, the bed is very comfortable, the television has more channels than I would ever watch, Wi Fi is free, the bathroom is clean and the showerhead is powerful. The owners were friendly and honored my privacy. Photographers, artists, birdwatchers, couples, small families, kayakers, an individual looking to relax - I could go on - will all find something here. I found true peace and quiet.

The owners live upstairs but I never heard/saw them, however, they make it very clear in the information they email you that should you need ANYTHING during your stay don't hesitate to just let them know. It was private, quiet and beautiful. For someone who only gets one vacation a year, it was exactly what I needed and as mentioned, I will definitely be back next year!

The home is exquisite, recently remodeled with gorgeously selected and appointed everything! The owners have spared nothing in appointing their home for comfort and environmental health and making all amenities available to guests: super clean everywhere, more than enough organic bed linens and towels, organic cleansers for hands, body, hair. Games, art supplies, books, magazine, DVDs, kayaks, floats, life jackets, and a fully equipped kitchen. All furniture and bed mattresses were super comfortable, super clean, and modern. The interior design in every room shows quality and high taste in finishings details. The owners provided more than sufficient information prior to check-in, and on the table inside there was a thick resource book covering all aspects related to the home, and to the surrounding community, including entertainment and activities near by in the area. You can tell the abundant love and generosity they poured into making this home an oasis for the soul and a perfect get away retreat from the hectic day to day. It sleeps 8-12 and is large enough for a gathering of family and friends which we so enjoyed. The home is situated on a bluff with a to-die-for view of the lake and mountains. The night time sky views are mesmerizing. They even provided a high quality set of binoculars. It is an easy walk down stairs or on a side path to Lake Cushman. Sitting on the dock at lakeside, or on the deck in Adirondack chairs up above, is simply gorgeous,quiet, relaxing and peaceful. I did a quick search for a cabin between the San Juan Islands and Portland and this spot popped up. It was exactly what I was looking for. A Rustic tiny house in the middle of the woods. Lemongrass the sweet orange cat greeted me upon arrival. So did a beautiful fawn. So much flora and fauna, that you will be immediately engulfed by nature. There are different themed cabins. I passed Glass, Jewel and Cozy on the way to my cabin, Lantern. Plenty of amenities to take this up quite a few notches from camping, and still maintain that disconnected vibe. I was able to use the refrigerator at the fully stocked outdoor kitchen to chill a few things I brought with me. The restroom in front of the kitchen has a modern hot shower, toilet and sink. Shampoo, conditioner and body wash are provided. In the cabin you have towels in the compartment behind the door. There is a heat wave going on right now, but if it was colder, there's a great little space heater inside the cabin. I slept great. Woke up to the sunrise, birds chirping, and trees everywhere. I would absolutely recommend staying here, and next time I'll bring stuff to make s'mores around the fire pit. Five stars.

From the road, you can't even tell it's there so don't blink or you'll miss it. We only needed to stop over night before we headed into the park. The employee opened up the store to check us in after hours which was wonderful. When we walked into the room, we were surprised to see a couch, microwave, mini fridge, fireplace, and a separate bedroom. The bed was very comfortable and even had a down comforter. If we wouldn't have been just passing through, we would have loved to stay here locked up for a couple's getaway.

There was even a beautifully set table for two waiting for us, and a well-equipped kitchen. Miko's is a perfect spot for two people to settle in for a romantic, peaceful getaway. We celebrated our 33rd wedding anniversary there just a few days before Christmas, and look forward to returning.
