A young associate asked if we had Life 360. I handed her my husbands phone and she immediately knew my phone was somewhere in the store. I told her what aisles I had been shopping on. She asked my husband to call my phone. She found it. This took approximately 60 seconds from the time she looked at our Life 360. She was one of 3 ladies who helped me. Yes, this is the same Juanita that makes those famous chips. The factory is also in Hood River. Walking down the pantry aisle always makes me happy! I cook a lot of Mexican food and they have a much better variety and quality of condiments, spices, chiles and pantry staples, and at better prices. And of course you have to check out the snacks! Whether you like the savory, spicy, crunchy snacks or the sweets that are very sweet and often include dulche de leche, you will find a plethora of choices! This store smells so good inside. Even the meat section smells good. This was a major relief since the two stores I'd stopped by before this both smelled like mold. As soon as I saw how long the line was on the carniceria side, without having any idea what they were actually selling over there, I decided to get in line. I figured that if this many people were willing to stand in line for it, then it must be worth standing in line for. The line moved surprisingly quick. Once I got to the front, I got shy about speaking Spanish. I asked for two tamales. "De cual?" "Umm.. what kind do you have?" "Que dijo?" She stared at me like she knew I speak Spanish.
