We sat in a booth near the back. We ordered the baba ghanoush, which was a large portion and came with pita bread. The pita bread could've been a little fresher I think that was our only complaint. The dip was great though, very flavorful & topped with tomatoes. I ordered the chicken Shawarma platter & it came with a massive amount of kepsa rice (you can also just get plain rice, but I do recommend this special kind of rice cooked in tomato and seasonings). I got lentil soup as my side. My husband got the chicken kebab platter and I have to say after tasting the kebab that it was outstanding and I liked grilled kabobs even better than my chicken Shawarma. He had a nice size side salad as his side, and he also ordered a lentil soup in addition which comes with lemon & crispy pita chips. We had an entire box of food, including probably 4 cups of rice and half of both of our chicken portions to take home. We also had a little bit of the baba ghanoush pita bread to take home as well. We would definitely return to this place. They had free refills on sodas as well. As we were leaving, a guy came in trying to order and kept asking the price... Whatever he wanted to order he did not have enough money for and the girl finally said don't worry about it. She'll take care of it and she'll let him order it anyway! So that was nice. She was lovely! We ordered shish tawook(chicken breast) sandwiches and a fattoush salad. The sandwich was just the right size with fresh ingredients and came with a sode of simply prepared "syroan" rice (olive oil, carrots, and zaatar) Tasty! The fatoush salad arrived quickly and was very flavorful. The high quality olives and zaatar spices were a particular treat. The dressing was simple olive oil and zaatar Excellent! It was agreed she'd deliver it to the location in the morning. It was needed before 2pm but the plan was to have it there in the AM. Because she forgot, and it was unsure if she'd come through, a homemade cake was made just in case. It wasn't until 1:15 that she texted on way!! Cake arrived, a bit sloppy and still warm. Ended up with two cakes. The whole point was not to bake the night before and yet, $50 later, still had to! The cake was basic with pineapple on it. Not bad just not great, for bakery cake. A bit dry. Not as expected. It's too bad because she came recommended by other local bakers and she's a very nice lady. She offers poetry nights and displays artists work. I'd recommend for that. I cannot speak about the beverages or other foods/desserts. The cafe gets 3 stars because of the community events and she offers other items I didn't try. The cat cafe is divided into a cafe where you order drinks/bakery and sit, and the cat lounge, which you can do a walk-in appointment or reserve a spot before hand on their website. (cat lounge opens at 11am) This space was beautiful in both area, with plenty of plant and cute spot to take a photo. The staff was very nice and polite. The drinks I got was matcha latte and the chocolate beignet, both were very delicious. They offer student discount for both food/drinks and cat lounge, with a present student ID The space was very clean, and I was impressed by how much work they put in to make sure the cats are well-taken care of as well as keeping the area sanitized and clean. You can adopt the cat directly from the cat cafe since they work closely with the local animal shelter. They offer variety of activities such as Yoga or Painting here. We ordered iced lattes and iced coffees. The iced latte essentially had no espresso whatsoever, and tasted like a glass of milk. The iced coffee was very weak. In order to have the cat cafe experience, you have to pay $10 for 30 minutes. There was no credit towards the cat experience when purchasing a coffee in their cafe. My favorite part was the decor. It was super cute. They wanted $35 for a T-shirt. The hostess was super rude as well. I felt like I needed to point that out. For parking, it is street metered parking. There is no charge on the weekends. It's not worth going out of your way for this cafe. Maybe I went on a bad day, but I will not return.

We've actually tried to return a couple times since that first visit, but apparently other people have discovered the place too. Both times we showed up without reservations and struck out. Lesson finally learned: MAKE. THE. RESERVATION. This time we did, and Room 33 reminded us exactly why we loved it in the first place. We both ordered Sonny's Short Rib, served over mashed potatoes with roasted carrots. Absolutely delicious -- tender, rich and packed with flavor. Although I gotta give the 2021 version the edge in the looks department. And you can't celebrate a birthday without dessert. Melissa went with the peanut butter pie, while yours truly handled the chocolate lava cake with ice cream. Both were worthy of the occasion. Different band than our first visit, but the same great energy.
