Hookah Castle has been much better after the new owner took ownership. They make sure your hookah is good and you're always getting the service you need. Charcoals are always replaced when needed. Very good environment to be in with friends, family, or solo. The hookah is really good with their authentic tea.

The atmosphere is feeling the owners know what hookah should be like. Definitely the Arab feeling here and the shisha flavor are diverse. Probably the best hookah lounge around here with great service. Try the Babylon hookah since it's rare to find that kind of hookah.

I was surprisingly underwhelmed :( based off of their 4.5 star review I was expecting much more. I went in on a Sunday at around 6:30 it was dead... When I say dead in talking myself and my boyfriend were the ONLY ones in there. We walked in and after a couple min were sitting in a round booth, directly behind the owner/employee that was working. The booth was clean but not very comfortable. The employee brought us a menu and we decided to get the "kings flavor" we splurged A bit since I used the Yelp voucher (spend $12 and get $15 voucher). The Kings flavor was $20. The flavor started off great but quickly died out and we were left without tongs to turn our coals and an employee too wrapped up in the Warriors game to come over and check on us :/ We finally went and asked him and he came right over. He suggested we blow out the smoke and it will help it be less harsh. *awesome tip by the way* :) The whole time we were there the basketball game was playing on the TV and there was no music..., not the end of the world, but then I used the restroom, probably one of the most disgusting bathrooms I've ever been in. That is disappointing to see in any business. smh take care of your place. When the check came I explained I had a yelp voucher and showed him he said I couldn't use it because we had a mixed flavor of tobacco, he insisted this was the case, but said I can use it next time. I double checked my yelp voucher and no where did it say that as a specification, so I showed him and he agreed to refund me the voucher money and only charge me the difference. Would I come back... Probably not and to be honest I probably wouldn't suggest this place to friends either, there's just better hookah lounges in San Jose I'd rather just go there.

My buddy Opie and I have been coming here for the past few months. Best lounge around. The owner is super friendly and makes you feel at home. What really sold me was that they serve fumari shisha and coconut coals. The other lounges use wood coals which makes the shisha burn faster. These coals are better for you and the tabacco. This place is a must try!

The owner of this lounge is a really nice and friendly guy and is very willing to come over and change the coals if you ask. They play tons of different music and I have actually discovered a lot of new music by just sitting back and hitting up Shazam. The shisha is amaaazing. I recommend asking for a mix of blackberry and passion fruit! It's not one of the house mixes but its amazing! Even though my friends and I cant come too often the owner remembers us and out favorite seat as well as the custom mix we love. He notices when we're quieter than usual and will even check up on us to see if we're okay. Needless to say I love this lounge. The couches are super comfy and it's not super packed all the time. The whole place is super laid back. There are also outlets to plug in your computer if you bring it.

So when I wrote my first review it was for the one employee Jose. After coming here more that year I noticed that the owner of the store and his possy were not very welcoming and nice, so I did stop coming here as often as I was because they made me feel unwelcomed. It wasn't until my friend Ashley's birthday when i had taken a group of my friends here, and I'm so glad i did! It turns out that this place has a new owner/management and they have literally saved this place. I noticed the difference as soon as I walked in because they had new pretty candles and the environment was so much more welcoming! They let us pick where we wanted to sit and then came to take our order. The owner is an absolute sweetheart, he really cares so much about the customers and he is consistent with it. He introduced himself and announced the news that he is the new owner and that things were a little bit different than before and hopefully we liked the new changes and modifications. Shortly after he brought our entire group some free (delicious) tea, and then played some amazing music which is always great. We ended up staying all night until closing and we all left extremely happy and on cloud 9. Since that experience I've come back multiple times and they all remember my friends and i which is really difficult because they have so many customers but they manage to care enough to remember, they have a DJ and belly dancer that they bring in for entertainment and they will even let you Bluetooth your own music so that you can listen to your favorite music while you relax with your friends. Like i said they go above and beyond for their customers which really is all you need at a hookah lounge. This is my go to place, always. I have drive from Palo Alto to Campbell just to go here when i was literally walking distance from a hookah lounge, that's how much i love this place. Highly recommended!!! They honestly treat all their customers amazing here you would be stupid to go anywhere else. read more

I've never been here when it's super busy and crackin at night, but I love the chill vibe and relaxed atmosphere during the day. I come in solo sometimes and my hookah seems to last forever and always smooth... The owner is usually there as well and makes you feel at home. Maybe I'm lucky but so far it's been a great experience. The decor and inside isn't the most amazing thing ever but I honestly don't need my hookah spot to be like a Vegas club... There is really no need to be spending $30 on one hookah in downtown SJ... read more

We were there on a Saturday night. One of the owners was there and he was very personable and fun to talk to. Later in the night a belly dancer came out and the party started. The place was pretty packed. Before the hookah runs out, they are already bringing you new coals. Very smooth smoke, and it never got harsh. Huge variety of flavors to chose from! Will be back for more fun times! read more

Super great hookah lounge I took my boyfriend there for his birthday and he enjoyed it very much, we all did. I've been to quite a few hookah lounges and none compare to hookah castle the environment is so friendly, the music was a decent volume granted there were a few odd songs but not in a bad way, in a very retro worldly way. And the owner amir is just the nicest guy he keeps a smile on his face and just wants you to have the best time and he talks to you and takes his time to know you personally. Its a great experience and I know I'm going to be going there regularly with my boyfriend and friends so I'd say give it a shot. Its way better than hookah beats. And the people that left a bad review below are twats so don't listen to them! Great place great hookah fabulous experience. read more

Great hookah place. I have been to many hookah places, this place has by far the best customer service I've experienced. The owner and his assistance came to our table a dozen times to make sure the hookahs are set up right. They also had a great attitude, which is rare in the other hookah places I've been to. read more

Such a great place! the owner is incredibly nice and they hook it up with drinks, he constantly checks up on you so you know their service was legit. its a great new lounge and has a great atmosphere. check it out if you want a cheap and enjoyable hookah experience :D read more

Love this place! the owner is there all day and always makes sure you have your tea refilled and your coals hot. His service is the best hands down of any hookah place I been to and I have been to quite a few. Great flavor selection. Very comfortable seating and big screen in case you want to watch a music video or sports. I recommend this 100 percent. read more

Definitely best hookah lounge in San Jose if not in the bay area. Found it by driving by and started going there at least twice a week ever since. Nice atmosphere, clean, great hookah and very friendly service. Thanks Amir for the great hookah flavors you introduced me to. I have visited most hookah places in the bay area and this is by far the best. Prices are very reasonable. So, I would highly recommend this place for hookah lovers. read more

The new owners customer service was definitely improved! Its such a lively atmosphere! I love how everyone gets up and dances with or without the belly dancer! As far as the hookah I would give a 3.5/5 but since it was such a live atmosphere I highly recommend you to go! Keep up the good work guys! read more

100% this is my go to #1 hookah lounge for a relaxing time. There are a huge amount of flavors of tobacco to chose from including an extensive menu of special blends. The atmosphere is very laid back and comfortable and all the places to sit are cushy. They play good music or movies and usually have most of the big sporting events on such as Niner games, Warrior games, sharks games, the Super Bowl, and other major events. The price is lower than many other places at $15 for a single flavor for two people or $18 for one of their special mixes with refills only bring $7 and only $5 for each additional person. They also serve a good array of snacks and drinks. I really have never had any problem here and can find nothing negative to say, even the service is great! The owner personally attends to people as well and is very friendly and an all around cool guy. It's pretty much the only place that I recommend to friends when they ask about a place to smoke hookah. Check it out, you won't be disappointed! read more

So I came here with 7 friends for the first time and it was the worse experience EVER. The worse service ever. It took them a good 20 min for the hookahs to come. When we asked about where the hookahs where the lady that doesn't know how to speakEnglish had a lot of attitude and she was like "as u can see its really busy" when there was total of 18 people and 7 were us. They also play the worse music ever. The hookahs are the WORSE hookahs uve ever had it took a total of 10min for the hookahs to taste like shit. So if ur thinking about to go to a hookah lounge just go to Red Room or Zoulal. read more

No big deal, as I wanted the bar anyway, but something others should keep in mind. The cocktail list is plentiful and intriguing. I tend to avoid tequila, so that eliminated a good chunk of the options. I went with Rose Colored Lenses, which was fantastic, and decently sized. Presentation was beautiful. My friend had All a Dream, also very good. The wine offerings are minimal, this is very much a cocktail or champagne type of place, with caviar being the primary food service. Speaking of service, the bartender was excellent, both in his mixology and demeanor. It took awhile to get the drinks, but I assume that was due to the complexity of the cocktails, paired with having just opened the doors a few min earlier. Two notes: 1. The barstools were a little too low, imo. I don't normally pay much attention to that detail, but these were uncomfortably low for me, even with my long torso, I was hyper aware of my posture. So maybe that's actually a good thing 2. Other patrons were rolling in shortly behind me, so there is probably an early crowd when they first open, then a late night group that appreciates the 2am closing time. Interior is beautiful, and you can use the steps up to the 2nd floor either from N Santa Cruz or the rear parking lot off W Main. More substantial food options are a mere few steps across the hall at Heritage.

This visit, my plate was just warm to the touch and the food was warm, not hot. Usually, I had to wait a few minutes before I could safely bite into my food. Service as always was genuine and friendly. You can tell, they are happy to see you and serve you. However, the service was a little slow due to the packed restaurant. It took us awhile to flag people down to bring us utensils, to-go boxes and our checks. I'm sure this will improve as they get used to larger crowds in their new environment. But the kitchen forgot my order and the owner was nice enough to upgrade my order to a super taco: served with your choice of meat, whole beans, onions, cilantro, tomato, avocado, and cheese on a homemade corn/flour tortilla. I didn't see any avocado. Oh well, it was a upgrade from what I originally ordered, so I can't complain. Support your local business.

i really like to enjoy my weekends so this usually means i go out to a bar or club of some sort with friends/ co-workers. sometimes i like to go minitaure golfing or to karaoke, but one particular weekend i decided to try hookah castle with a few friends of mine. to my surprise the cost of their hookah and accessories wasn't as much as i thought it was going to be. at the same time they offered nice flavors and the hookah was nice! i don't smoke hookah too often (maybe 2-3 x / year), but i'll definitely be back at some point ;) read more

I have no issues with Hookah rooms in general. My problem is with Hookah Castle and them handing out "Grand Opening" cards to 9 year olds. I wonder if a company that has no idea on simple tobacco products are illegal to advertise to children, if they skirt any other laws like keeping their equipment clean also. read more

This is my go to place to hangout with buddies, play backgammon, smoke hookah, and drink tea. I like the fact that I could sit outside. This place had come a long way under the new owner.
