This is my second time coming here. I love this spot. It is huge and even being as expansive as it is, it still manages to feel intimate. There are lots of small nooksand booths where guests gather and spend happy moments sharing great food and drinks. I had the Pinewood Bowl & coffee. The coffe was not great, but the bowl was amazing!! The bowl was such a huge serving. With a huge blob of avocado and plenty of queso frescoes sprinkled on top of the eggs, there was definitely enough for two. When we arrived, it was actually a beat before we were seated. We were told they were short seaters and servers. That helped me to be a little more understanding when our service actually ended up being quite slow. But like I said, the food is amazing, and the service is friendly as they try their best to help us as quickly as posdible. This is a lively, bright, open space. There's a bar, restaurant, game area, pool, and a bowling alley! We reserved the bowling alley for the 90 minute max, but we arrived early, and because no one else was playing, they let us play our original reservation time as well as a little extra. Much appreciated. Staff is very accommodating and attentive. Several people checked in on us the entire time we were bowling. We arrived during brunch time, with the typical fare of eggs benny and bloody marys. We chose to snack on the hummus and pretzels and queso. Both hit the spot. The hummus was complex, flavorful, and a little spicy. The pita bread was charred just right. The pretzels were salty, the queso creamy and just a little spicy, and delish. We had a couple cocktails, which were all refreshing and light. The "She's a Peach," with pisco, peach liquer, amaretto, lemon, grenadine, and ancho reyes. We also tried the "Latitude Adjustment," with aged rum, pineapple, genepy, green chartreuse, cucumber, lime, pineapple, and coconut (a tiki like number). Dinner fare is geared toward burgers, pasta, salmon, chicken, handhelds. All the menus are concise, but they all work together and make sense. The place is beautiful and retro and not crowded at all on a midday Friday. I paid 90 dollars base for the bowling and then there was kinda a crazy service charge of almost 20 bucks. All said and done, I paid just over 120 dollars for 90 minutes of bowling for two. But keep in mind, this is for the whole lane, so more people would equate to a lower price per capita. Parking is easy and the first three hours are free with validation. Right there next to the facility. It was a great space to kick back, laugh at ourselves, get a little competitive, snack, and have some cocktails. Would recommend it to anyone. read more

Pinewood Social is a fun spot for families or friends to enjoy a few hours. They have bowling, a restaurant, a bar, and a coffee bar. It looked like a spot where people can come to work too. Check their site for the garage to park in for three hours of validated parking. The garage is signed well so you'll know you are in the correct garage. Just make sure Metropolitan doesn't try to charge you. Bowling reservations are available through their website. They allow up to six people per lane. Each lane is $90 for 90 minutes. As a family of four we were able to play each game in about 30 minutes. Keep in mind that two lanes share one set of seating. It would be pretty tight if a party of six was sharing a lane with another party of six. For some reason another group was placed right next to us when we were the only two groups there at the time. The other group asked to be moved, but I'd recommend they space people out when it isn't busy. The bowling was a really fun family activity for us. My daughters, 2 and 6 had a great time. There was a good variety of bowling balls so we were able to find the weight we needed. Scoring is manual using a computer at each lane. The lane we were on functioned properly for our games. The helper stands for kids were available. The helper stand was perfect for our two year old. Food and drink can be ordered at the lanes or in the restaurant. We opted to have drinks only while bowling. Our server set us up with a table in the restaurant after bowling. The service here was great. We were checked on frequently while bowling. Service was smooth on the restaurant side as well. The food and drink menu offers so many great options. You can't go wrong with Crema coffee. I enjoyed my usual Cortado. The Bumpy Teeth Mocktail was also delicious. My husband and I shared the Shrimp Po'Boy and Green Chile Brisket Sandwich. The Shrimp Po'Boy was decent, but very light on shrimp. I really liked the brisket sandwich which reminded me of a pot roast sandwich. I wouldn't say we got any green chile flavor from it. I opted for a salad as my side and it was fresh with a tasty balsamic dressing. This was a fun morning activity for my family. I'd love to return to meet up with friends or when family is in town. I went with a group of friends to celebrate a birthday. We had a reserved table with a bowling lane. Service could have been a little better as they didn't check in often or when a new person arrived they didn't get a drink or bowling shoes. I will say the real shock came when discovering how much the person who made the reservation paid for the area, and the difference between what's advertised vs how they had to check out. As for my shrimp and grits the three components shrimp, grits, and kale were good alone but did not fit together. The chicken sandwich was really tasty. But the smash burger was undercooked and not as flavorful. The one thing that we didn't like is if you are there during social hour they don't give you a regular menu also. Took my family here for Easter brunch and enjoyed a wonderful meal! We were pleasantly surprised to find validation for 3 hours free parking once inside the restaraunt, though it's worth noting you'll need to walk a few minutes from the parking garage to the door of the restaraunt. Our server was really cheerful and kind, she really played up the holiday and ran us through the menu very well. Service was almost ~too~ attentive towards the end of the meal, I'm not sure if they were trying to flip the table but it felt like every 30 seconds a new person came to the table trying to clear our plates. Everyone was super friendly, just felt a little rushed towards the end. But the food was really great!! We ordered from the special Easter Brunch menu, starting with the basket of biscuits and maple butter which were divine. The brown butter pecan sticky bun was insanely decadent and delicious I split the chicken and waffles with someone and they kindly split it in the kitchen for us, the chicken was a real piece of breaded chicken breast and was very tasty. Some others at the table ordered the churro French toast, ham and egg Benedict, coffee and cocktails and said everything was great. The vibes are great. The food is...okay. Our party of three had the short rib, blackened chicken sandwich, and the turkey/brie wrap. The short rib was very chewy, unlike any short rib I've had. The fat was also not broken down well. The side mashed potatoes were also just okay. The turkey/brie wrap fell flat. There was plenty of meat (yay!), but the Brie was overpowering, and I lost the other flavors entirely. The blackened chicken sandwich was solid. It was cooked well and was exactly as it should be. We also had the bread pudding; it's very pretty, but the taste was also just okay. We had an edge piece, and it tasted kind of old. The pecans were burned, and not pleasing. The ice cream was good. This was the first time I've not finished a bread pudding. It's also disappointing to not offer any coffee option with dessert simply because the coffee bar closes at 7. If you come here for nothing else, let it be the Pinewood Classic Tots (Bravas spice, parmesan, parsley, paprika aioli). These are simply phenomenal and are delicious even without the aioli. I would order these as my main dish and hoard them all to myself, haha But I did not know this at the time so I also ordered the Turkey and brie wrap (pinewood roasted turkey, brie, garlic aioli, arugula, cranberry chutney, flour tortilla, came with salad). This was just OK - there was too much sauce on my wrap (honestly, my fault, I only like the tiniest smear on sandwiches and I forgot to ask for it on the side). The salad was heavy on the vinaigrette, to the point where the lettuce was wilty and droopy. Everything tasted fine though. The ambiance is cool, there is a bowling alley in the back, and the main dining room has tall ceilings and kind of reminded me of an airplane hangar. Our server was friendly, but she was given a huge table of people that had small kids with them and they were taking all of her time with a million questions so for a while I wondered if we were ever going to be able to pay and leave. Normally sitting and chilling out is no problem but we had to be on the road and a storm was coming so I was a little more on edge this time. Oh also lunch here is EXPENSIVE. We are visiting Nashville in good spirits and have really enjoyed the city and its culture and people. I don't understand why our server Misha was so curt and unfriendly with us during lunch today. We had a 1:30 reservation and waited for some time, but that wasn't a big deal. Our drinks (3 coffees and an OJ) arrive piecemeal after 25 mins, and without the honey we asked for; when we very politely reminder her of the missing item, she was dismissive. When our food hadn't come out 40 mins + after ordering, we politely asked whether she could check in with the kitchen - again an unapologetic and dismissive two-word "I'll try". Within 10 mins after food arrived, she slapped the bill on our table. Not a single word. Just the sound of the plastic bill tray slapping our table. Not sure what happened here, and tough to enjoy a meal with this kind of treatment. What a shame, as the entire feel of this restaurant and its food, bowling alley, and decor are tops. read more

Pinewood Social brunch was an unforgettable experience. Unfortunately, not in the way you'd hope for on your 17th wedding anniversary. We had 11:30 reservations. The restaurant wasn't even full, yet we weren't seated until 11:55. The first hostess looked completely lost, and the second hostess was a guy who appeared to be one untied shoelace away from becoming the brunch special. Once seated, things somehow accelerated directly into slow motion. We sat down at 11:55 and didn't actually get food until 1:15. At one point, the manager finally came over after another customer had already unloaded on him... and then proceeded to leave all of our empty bottles and plates from the first round of drinks sitting on the table like decorative centerpieces. By the time the food arrived, we genuinely weren't sure if we were celebrating our 17th anniversary or waiting for the 18th. The crazy part? The food was actually really good. A local suggested we check out Pinewood Social for brunch and it was a great recommendation. We arrived early on Saturday afternoon and had to wait about 20 minutes beyond our reservation time. The dining room was buzzing and everyone seemed to be having a fun time. It's in a funky location that challenged our Uber driver's GPS. Like a lot of restaurants, it features that industrial décor look inside. The dining room is massive, with a small bowling alley in the back. Outside is a pool for all kinds of activities. The menu is deep and I could see myself, if I was a local, having weekend after weekend of tastings of additional brunch menu items. We started with the soft pretzels and they were almost a meal in themselves. Loved the cheese dipping sauce. The Challah French Toast was super delish with berry compote and maple syrup. The side of bacon was tasty, but seemed a little under-cooked. My go to restaurant in Nashville for many years when visiting for conventions. Always a favorite with my business clients. The atmosphere is great and the food always spectacular. I shared a short rib, dinner and fried chicken dinner with one of the other guests and both were done extremely well .. probably the best fried chicken I've had in many years, and this was the opinion of the other guest as well. The collard greens were spectacular and I finished off both of our bowls. I like the pinewood is not on the main drag or a crowded part of Nashville. The parking is a little tricky now as they no longer have the lot open across from the front of the building you have to pay attention to signs and park behind. Booked a group of 15 for dinner and bowling. Servers seemed annoyed to have a large group although the place was fairly empty. Food was inconsistent: a few of the hot dishes were served cold or at best warm, fried dishes super greasy in the worst ways, and flavors were bland. The saving grace was supposed to be a little fun on the bowling lanes after dinner where we pre-booked for our large party but were told at the end of our dinner that they could not honor our reservation time but it should open up for us in about an hour. The manager very kindly telling me she will refund our deposit if we didn't want to wait the extra hour as if the refund was ever in question. A classic Seinfeld moment: anyone can take the reservation, the important part is to hold the reservation. We actually had already pushed our dinner back 30min so the timing of finishing our dinner could accommodate another bowling party and with all that were asked to then wait another hour. For all our hassle, average service with a full serving of RBF with every server interaction, below average food, and cancelling our team activity for the evening, we received our bowling deposit back and a nominal discount on our groups bill. Lastly, the manager said she would like to provide me a bowling experience in the future to make up for this experience and three days later I've not heard a thing. If you say it, follow through. Unfortunately, there is nothing that could compel me to return but again, follow through. I guess that final lack of follow through sums up the experience at every level. I am local and had high expectations as this was my recommendation to a group and now I'll follow through in helping others avoid the terrible disappointing experience we just endured. read more
