Strange I never knew this course existed until a friend invited me to play both North and South courses on one day. Overall it was fun. I played the South course much better than the slightly more difficult North. I'll blame it on being tired. It was a long day made needlessly longer. Both courses are in pretty good shape. The greens had quite a bit of undulation to them, but they ran true. Fairways were also in decent shape. It was a nice day of golf, but made long by poor course scheduling management. We prebooked our 3 tee slots, there were 12 of us. The morning round went off without a hitch. We were scheduled to go off the second round on the North course between 1 and 1:30, about an hour or so after the 1st round. When we completed the morning South course round, the pro informed us there would be a little delay as they had a scramble tournament in progress on the North and they were running slow. Nearly 2 hours later, and little communication, we were still waiting. I'm sure they run many scramble tournaments do it amazes me that thry misjudged completion so badly. The course is beautiful, with a manageable front and long back 9 (6500 yrs) from the middle tees. The course is open and even high handicap golfers will not lose many balls; there are really only a few spots on the course that are truly out of bounds. The staff is typically very friendly, Jeremy who manages the bag room is particularly nice. The pros are all great too. The whole place is well maintained, as they do host PGA (junior/womens) events from time to time. The greens play very fast towards the end of summer, and some of them slope in ways that will really frustrate anyone. Price-wise, the place is on the upper end if you have no college affiliation (about 140 or so) but is exceptionally cheap for students (35 dollars) so definitely a place to visit if you are in the area and still in school. The course truly cannot be recommended enough, and it offers some exceptional views of both the Williams College campus and the surrounding areas.

I had a late afternoon tee time on a weekday and they were very kind and let my wife and 9 month old son go along for the round. We weren't even charged rider fees. On a busy Saturday, that would be a stretch. "Driving range" was just a few grass mats where you hit balls off a cliff; interesting. Course was nice, needed a little water. And the rough was deep. I'm not sure if this on purpose or a lack of maintenance. Course had nice views. Very hilly, some blind shots, but not as many as Killington. It was very tough to figure out how to get to the next hole, we had to turn around a few times. After we finished the round, we wanted to check out the bar and maybe grab a bite to eat. However, there is no bar or restaurant. Just a snack window, though it appears the food they were producing was high quality. Overall, for $120, I'd rather go to Green Mountain. Though, Fox Run is still be best course "around" - hands down.
