When my wife and I hired this company to move us we told them that we have a one bedroom apartment king size bed sofa loveseat and 30 boxes so we thought that we would see them on our move date pulling up in at least a medium box truck.oh no they pull up in a pickup truck with a small trailer. We told them that it would not all fit they said it would. But it didn't so they had to make 2 trips. They said that tye price would be between $420--$560. Now if they had come in a box truck then it would have been 1 trip and $420 witch would have been nice but instead we had to pay them $ 530 witch we had to go back and forth with them because they wanted us to pay them hourly rate. Oh and just for his Argument we did not have the loveseat but a small chair and kitchen table with chairs they never asked us to give in detail every item! So not going to use them again and not recommend they were trying to smash boxes in between the chairs to make more room that takes longer and not exceptable we only had 20 boxes. I called several times and left several emails. Couldn't get any response back. The one time I actually got thru to a human being, I gave all the info and was told the boss would be back in 30 mins and they would pass the info along and have them call me back.....that was 5 days ago. Hoosier Movers was recommended by a piano moving company out of South Bend because they were unavailable to move a baby grand piano. So, I was able to connect with the company. We had used them to move a few other items in the past so with the recommendation from Merriment Piano in South Bend, I thought we could take the chance. Needless to say, what I am sharing here has been shared with the company who recommended Hoosier Movers. I pray they no longer recommend HM. Here is the problem; three men showed up to move the piano. One lead guy who was in his mid-20's and two very young college looking guys with very little experience and strength between them. They showed up with a rented trailer barely big enough to fit the piano. They did not properly wrap the piano to protect the beautiful wood. As a result, they blundered their way through the move and severely damaged my piano. The lead mover assured me they would fix it. At first he offered a $100 refund off of the move to which I said, absolutely not. I want this beautiful piece of furniture restored to the beauty we paid for! He assured me that they had an Amish furniture restorer who could fix it. I sent him the pictures he requested and said it would be fixed. After numerous communications back and forth still no repair. He offered to come over and fill in the huge scratches with a color furniture pen, to which I said "NO! send the furniture repair man as you promised. My husband has written them and as of July 6th my piano is still not repaired! Now no one answers the phone, no one returns texts and I am left with a damaged piano that should not have been damaged in the first place. NEVER use this company! EVER! Go ahead for moving a mattress, but anticipate it less than treatment if they destroy it. I am happy to share the pictures to prove this horrific nightmare! read more

The two young men who moved me yesterday were great! Very respectful, courteous and hard working. My move was complete and they didn't mind the two trips since I'd underestimated my move. I am a senior and asked hoosier movers to move me. The owner came and gave me a quote of $1300.00. when they moved me the owner left before the movers were done. when done his worker gave me the amount owed and it was $2085.00. I was alone and went ahead and paid and then called and left a message to get a breakdown. never heard back. I have found a few things broken, they just dumped everything. I would not recommend these movers for anybody. read more
