Who's your garage door servicer? If you don't have one, you should consider Hoosier. I was in need of replacing a relic of a garage opener that we inherited. It was a twisted old opener.... refusing to close or open the door all the way, vibrating speeding trucks causing the door to open involuntarily, and at points not working at all. For months we had to turn off the unit and manually open and close the door ourselves. We knew we'd have to get a new opener before winter. It was time to put that old genie out of its misery. That's where Hoosier Overdoors came along. The service lady that answered the phone was friendly as she set an early morning time for Joshua to stop by. She stated that Joshua would reach out to me the next morning between 8:30 and 9:30. He did so just before 9:30 and arrived promptly. It took him just a little more than an hour to install the new Lift Master opener. He took the time to explain the ins and outs of the LM. I was pleasantly surprised he didn't attempt any upsell of other items for the garage (though it could use a new bottom door rubber). He just did the installation and that was it. I'm sure in the future the garage will need some servicing. Who knows when the old door coil will snap. When it does happen I'll be sure to reach out to Hoosier Overdoors. read more

Hoosier Overdoors is great! Friendly service personnel and the phone etiquette when calling the office is exceptional. The only hiccup I've had with them was when I did a 'First Call' appointment. Basically you're the first appointment for them on that day, there's not a specific time but they are suppose to call between 8:30 and 9:00 letting you know they're on the way. Well, I didn't get a call... They showed up an guess who wasn't there. No worries though, they waited for me, didn't fret or fuss about having to wait 20/30 minutes either. They just went and did the work and were still friendly as ever. I've called on Hoosier twice, once for a garage opener and track install, and today for a helper spring replacement. Both times were great experiences, they took their time to check everything out after the install. Cleaned up after themselves and basically took care of any general maintenance (i.e. oiling tracks and chains) that needed to be done as they went along, which is great 'coz seriously... who ever goes n lubes up their garage door chains and stuff on their own? Above and beyond customer service. This is what you get at Hoosier Overdoors. I scheduled a service call for a door adjustment and Hoosier Overdoors came out. After evaluating the garage door and opener, it was determined that the issues I was having was due to the opener. I scheduled an appointment and the opener was replaced. HO credited a fair chunk of the initial service call cost toward the new opener. A few months after the install, I had an issue with the opener. I called at 7:30pm and left a message, and Ruben came out an hour later! He made the necessary adjustments and reassured me there wasn't a service charge. Hossier Doors replaced my old opener with a liftmaster. It worked for about 14 months before it would not close. They charged me $80 dollars to listen to lifmaster tell them what to check. I had to call Liftmaster and beg for the replacement part. They did come back out and part the part in for free. However, about a month later same problem. They told me to call Liftmaster and ask for more parts. Liftmaster refused to send me the parts. I called back to Hossier and they told me to keep calling Liftmaster customer service till I got someone else. Lesson learned do not use these guys are get a Liftmaster. read more

He was professional & explained everything that he was doing, fixed / replaced our cables & double checked that all 'systems / features' worked properly & oiled needed parts. I called Hoosier Overdoors to see if they could fix my door opener. The person on the phone said he new exactly what the problem was and they could fix it. The next day they came over and worked on it and never fixed it. $70 later, they suggested I get a new opener. They made an offer to replace the opener at full price, not taking into account their failed attempt. I will get a new opener, just not from Hoosier Overdoors. Just a hint for Hoosier Overdoors, ask the home owner before you use his ladder. $70 lesson learned. read more

Consumer BEWARE, this business has sold from the original owners. I went to the "new" Hoosier Overdoors in Cedar Lake to purchase a RIGHT HAND garage door torsion spring and also asked about pricing for a new garage door installed. When I got home I found they had sold me a LEFT HAND. When I attempted to return the spring for refund I was given a big argument by the woman in the office saying it was the correct spring, that I was harassing her and to leave or she was going to call the police! When I reminded her that I was considering using them for a new garage door in the future she said "WE DON"T WANT YOUR BUSINESS"!! This woman is completely PSYCHO! I called my credit card company to resolve the issue because I wasn't getting anywhere dealing with them. I'm glad the issue was only a $60 spring and not a $2000 garage door install! read more
