Chandler arrived within a couple hours of my call, and anchored the rail to a thick board that provided the proper support for all the bolts. He also adjusted the chain and realigned the opener settings for the door. It's now quieter than ever, seals properly when it closes, the rail is solid and the fix looks professionally done. The repairman was there for about 7 minutes, charged $150.00 to say the opener is old and I should keep it until it stops working completely. Their labor rate must be between $900 -1000.00 per hour Then gave a $674.00 quote for a new opener and asked if I wanted to replace the opener. As he did not actually do any kind of service or repair, what was I charged $150.00 for? Obviously, I will not be using this company again as they lack ethics and integrity. Garage door openers are about $140.00 - 175.00 at most hardware stores. Why would I pay this company almost $700.00? Update: No one stated that I would be charged $150.00 just to have your person show up and do nothing. How do you stand by that kind of 'pricing'. That is called fraud and unethical. Front door was installed with a few scuffs, defects, I tried wiping them off but these are deep scratches. One scuff is right in the eye sight of the lock handle.
