I did leave another location to grab a bite to eat. Thinking this might be better. The chicken sandwich was a bit tough but still good. The pickles were good as always. Service was okay had to wait for the waitress to take a break from eating her lunch with a customer.at the table to get a refill on tea and get my check. After receiving my refill and check she went back to dining with customer. Guess the service industry is lacking in these locations. Amarillo use to be in the top of the list and now sadly it has fallen. I would not recommend it and find a new location to dine at. I will be avoiding this location as well. I visit the area several times a year for work. I have been to this location many times. However, it's been a few years since I was here last. Sadly, the restaurant needs some TLC. When I walked in, I was hit by a odd smell that reminded me of dirty dish water. While the location was clean, it had a run down appearance, my booth had torn and wore out seats. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained. The location was surprisingly empty. In the past, it was always packed. My server was Meiah who was attentive and friendly. Hopefully she was new as she unaware of beers on tap. Food was very good. Traditional wings were excellent. Smoked wings were good. Fries were warm, but not hot. But they had great flavor. Three stars was a stretch for me, honestly, when it comes to this location. Service is slow and in the end the food was pretty average. We started off with some appetizers. I ordered the fried jalapenos for the table and while they were good, they took a bit to get out. Overall, the better of the apps that we ordered. My friend ordered the oysters as part of a celebration and it took *forever* to get them out. Our waitress hinted that they weren't sure how to prep them, at least the kitchen staff at the time wasn't sure, and that should have been our warning to cancel them. Most of the oysters were okay, but there were a few that were actually bad -- as in they'd gone bad. Definitely don't recommend ever getting oysters at the Hooters (not that I was certain this was a good idea to begin with). One of the party ordered an order of wings, and she munched them down as she loves any chicken wing. Another member of the party had wings, which were good, but ordered a side salad and it was a pathetic salad. Definitely avoid the side salad. I made a custom burger. I ordered the crispy chicken, dipped in a sauce, added cheese, avocado, and onions. It took over thirty minutes for them to bring my friend's food (it usually doesn't take this long for wings) but mine didn't appear with it. They said the kitchen was working on mine. Another twenty minutes goes by before I get my meal. So everyone else is now done eating and I'm just getting my meal. I hate when places break up a table like this. Just unprofessional, really. Service was kind of sub par. She did check in once or twice but clearly had priorities checking in on tables of all men. Perhaps that's part of the Hooters appeal, and waitresses are told to definitely fawn over the men, my table of all females friends *also* could be high tipping customers. But since we didn't get great service we didn't leave a great tip. This was my first time at Hooters. I won't go back to this location. But hopefully I can give a local Tucson location a chance and see if service is better there. read more

There was a dirty table when we arrived and it was still that way when we left. My burger had little to no sauce. Asked for more....got charged. My husbands wing order was wrong. In front of me was a party of six. One person was wearing a mask. Unless it has since been rescinded, online it says that Amarillo has a mask ordinance. People are walking around without masks and that really bothered me since I didn't have one on while I was eating. The food was OK I ordered buffalo shrimp hot but I got buffalo shrimp mild. Restaurant needs a major makeover. This place is filthy. I came in close to closing so I'm not going to rate the food. The district manager is definitely not doing their job. The orange paint is falling off ducting in a big way so if you come here try not sitting under ducting. The booth seats are cracked bad. The wood flooring needs a deep cleaning. Again I must say this place looks bad inside. When I was seated in a booth the table was very dirty and slimy. This location looks like they just forgot about it. It has the smell of a dirty restaurant. I got a glance of the kitchen and it is filthy looking also. We had a seat immediately at the bar and ordered our beer. Frosty mugs, cheap beer in large quantities. Simple. Restaurant was a bit messy but I think a large party or two had just left as we entered. Plenty of servers and two bartenders so food was coming out of the kitchen fast. Dedicated parking lot outside but it's one of those massive Texas parking lots. Bring your F-950 or horse trailer and you'll find parking regardless. Bathrooms were clean. Kitchen window looked clean and orderly. It's the Hooters you know and love? Out bartender was friendly. Beer prices cheap and the selection better than most places road warriors frequent. read more

At the tail end of a long day's drive from east Texas, my buddy and I decided to stop into this Hooters for a late dinner and some drinks. The interstate highway through Amarillo at night has a Vegas-like aspect to it, lots of neon. Hooters sits right off the highway in an orange glow, and we enthusiastically figured, "Why not?" I'd never been to a Hooters anywhere, and the prospect of visiting one brought to mind humorous memories of the 2003 South Park episode "Raisins", which parodies the franchise. We parked and walked to the entrance in a humid wind carrying the smell of a nearby feedlot; apparently the seals on the restaurant were good enough to lock out the smell entirely. Inside: a boisterous, happy scene, with rowdies at the bar and families spread out through the place, the only thing remarkable being the mostly-attractive young women in the expected Hooters apparel. The food was nothing remarkable, comparable in price and selection to a TGI Friday's, and the beer-by-the-pitcher was good and cleaply priced. Our waitress was a lovely young Texas girl on break from pre-veterinary studies, who didn't (unlike the girls in the "Raisins" parody) try hustling us for anything ("photos with a Hooters Girl, sweetie?") Of course, as we were leaving and browsing over the impressive set of merchandising - t-shirts, caps, and such - and showing amused interest in a white and orange Hooters golf bag (which did tempt us), several of the girls went into Hard Sell Mode. Stopped in this past weekend for quick break. The staff was friendly with greeting me as I walked in the door. Decided to sit at the bar and get a dark beer. Ended up with a Guinness since they don't carry Pappy Slokum's Stripper Dust Beer made in Abilene Texas. Hooters Abilene does carry it and it sells out because it is just that good. As far as fast food goes, this has to be one of my favorite. Where else can you get great wings and look at beautiful women who are there to serve you. In my opinion, this 3 should be equivalent to a 5, howevever, the food is a long way from winning any prestigious for culinary excellence. Michelle, was wonderful. Very unimpressed. My GF & I came in Thursday (12/26/19) nite & Ryleigh was our server. Everything was great. The next day we sat at the bar & Dre was behind the sticks. Everything was fine until we were told that the TABC app on the register had determined we had consumed the max amount of liquor allowed. Of course, there is no such app. I had 3 large beers & 3 double whiskeys. My GF had far less. If they were concerned about us being intoxicated, why did they not try to make us take an Uber? Went back Saturday (12/28) wondering how we would be greeted. We were seated at a high top and ignored. Dre came by to say hi. No one came to take a beverage or food order. We left after 15 minutes. If our behavior was offensive on Friday (12/27), perhaps a civil conversation was in order instead of playing childish games? The smoked wings are not smoked they are bake and so saturated in salt they are not edible. They do not taste like chicken they taste like a salt lick. The wings were fatty and soggy and they were ordered dry! Full of FAT! If you do eat here you will belch them up for 2 days and I only ate 3 of the wings. The rest went in the trash.
