Visiting Amarillo for the week for some work and thought it was a great idea to stop by good ol Hooters before work, me and a buddy walked in and it was pretty dead inside but an abundance of waitresses, stood in the waiting area for a good 10 minutes before finally getting seated. Another 30 minutes go by and no one has stopped to take drink orders, I stopped a manager and asked if we can get someone to take our orders and the guy told us that someone will be by shortly and walked off, I have it another 10 minutes and still no one showed up, really ticked off we just left and went somewhere else. If I could give no star, I would because we ordered raw oysters and other foods. When the raw oysters came out, it was covered with lots of mud all over them. This is absolutely disgusting because how dare they serve food like that? Even though we brought this concern to the manager's attention, and he waved the charge, but the way he reacted to it was that the way they handle it were just to open the oysters, rinse it real quick, then serve. So, it was expected, I assume. So, it should be typical to them to have mud on the oysters. But no, it was nasty, unacceptable, and sickening. Will never return, or recommend anyone to Hooters!!! Bartender was no very hospitable. Happy hour was at 3pm we wanted to order a pitcher at happy hour price at 257pm she said we had to wait. Instead of pouring it and ringing it in at 3pm. Not very friendly no emotion. Not a busy restaurant either. Order a pitcher of coors lite for me and coworker and had a chicken sandwich pickle chips. Then move sober to have drinks with my friends at another table . Manager cam over to cut us off for an hour if we were to order another drink. 2 stars is a stretch but our waitress was really nice and didn't care it was close to closing time. My husband and I waked in to this establishment Saturday night around 9:30. The Cowboys were playing so we figured the staff would be quicker on their feet with service. NOPE! We waited 5 mins to be seated. No one, NO ONE made eye contact. At least 4 waitresses walked passed us, even the manager walked by at least twice and NEVER said a word or even looked our way. The bartender looked over at us once, and I know this bc I smiled at her, but she never said "someone will be with you shortly" or any gesture. Finally we were seated. (Sigh) There were 2 waitresses that I walked pass us, one of which was squatted down WITH HER LEGS WIDE OPEN sweeping under the table. There's better ways to make a good tip, darling. Finally our sweet waitress came to our table. She was across the restaurant dealing with a huge table of guys, but still managed to come over and help us. Her name was Lexie. She took our drink order and since we didn't get help, or even a "hi how are you" from any other waitress, we were ready to order. The food was correct and we ate and hung out for a bit. Lexie was very kind and made small talk. She seemed pretty busy the whole time we were there; dealing with other tables. Sad that all the other waitresses were busy getting ready to shut the place down and no one offered to give her a hand. When I go to a restaurant, I expect them to work as a team. Service great. Food YUCK!! I ordered a chicken salad and it was old lettuce, brown on all the edges and some of the darker green leaves was actually slimy. Server was so embarrassed. Walked in to grab some lunch. Hostess was quick to seat me. Was told my server would be with me shortly. Sat around for 5 minutes looking at menu. Was not asked by anyone if i wanted a drink. My server was no where to be seen. Another server was taking care of a table close by. Did not check to see if i needed anything in the mean time. Knowing i was there. Then I pulled a timer out to see how long it would take someone to see I wanted service. 10 minutes later, still no service. I don't care what excuse you have. This location is by far the slowest location for a hooters I've ever been too. Cooks seem to care more about having fun then preparing quality food. Orders were wrong and way under cooked. Our waiter, "sprinkles" (yes, that's her stage name, so don't bother asking her) was very nice and did a good job. But everyone else that was working, not so much. WTF is wrong with these parents?!? When my food finally arrived, the pickle slice had not been dried out so my sandwich bun soaked up all the juice. As a frequent flyer of Hooters restaurants, I must say that I'm very disappointed. Myself along with 111 colleagues have visited the Hooters in Amarillo throughout the course of 4 weeks about 12 times and we've spent an excessive amount of money with your brand. The service has been fair for the most part but tonight I am almost positive that myself and my colleagues will never visit your restaurant again. Three of us came in after work and sat at the bar. We were greeted by a young lady and ordered drinks and we was asked for our ID. This hasn't been consistent over the last three weeks but we still gave them to her. She handed it to Jeremy Green who says he was the GM and he took our IDs to the back to verify if they were "legit" because they were out of state. I have no issue with this but the other visits to your restaurant , they just looked at our ID and served us our drinks. I opted to tell my colleagues that we will not be supporting here and we left. I'm very dissatisfied with you guys service and please educate your staff on the importance of consistency when dealing from regular customers from state-to-state! read more

Found out after order that there is only a 3 beer maximum that you can order. After waiting a long time we finally got our food and it was only lukewarm. I ordered 1/2 lemon pepper and 1/2 medium boneless wings. The medium ones were right but my lemon pepper didn't have any seasoning. Told the waitress about it and instead of offering to remake them offered to bring me some lemon pepper seasoning, which I accepted because I didn't want to wait forever again. On our road trip we stopped by here because it was the closets restaurant that wasn't a fast food joint that was open. and my friends have never been to hooters before so, why not? We arrived and got seated as there were hardly anyone dining here when we arrived. We ordered some beers, fried pickles, mozzarella sticks and 48 wings (different flavors). Our beverages came pretty promptly along with most of the food. Went in on a Saturday to eat lunch and watch some college football. Ordered hooterizer appetizer that came out with breading partially uncooked and onion rings raw. Ordered 10 boneless wings that were cooked but were soggy from sitting in a pool of sauce. Hooters gets a bar rap once in a while... usually from people who only know the NAME and not the restaurant. Sure the food isn't the BEST around but the service is usually great. The waitresses change like the wind here in the panhandle of Texas though. As of now... Kelly, Hillary, Jesse, Sherry, and Kyla are awesome... beautiful too!!!! :) Order the wings and have them throw em back on the grill after shaking them... makes it a LOT better! We recently traveled from Colorado and arrived in Amarillo around 9:45 pm. After driving over 10 hours, wings sounded amazing and lucky for us, Hooters was open late. Our 2 year old daughter was with us and as we were leaving, a huge storm was hitting Amarillo. We could barely see our truck because the rain was so heavy. My husband and I stood by the front door trying to figure out the best way to keep her as dry as possible, when the manager came up and offered us an umbrella. I know this seems like a small gesture to some, but for an exhausted mother, it meant so much. Thank you to the manager and staff working that night who were so friendly to us. What a terrible experience. Our food order was "lost" in the kitchen. During the time that we spent there waiting, my husband noticed that that there was vomit in the men's room twice within the hour and a half it took them to manage to bring our food. The manager explained the "lost" ticket and said our meal was on the house. Good thing, because when the food finally showed up it was wrong and the fries were old, cold and nasty. Never again.
