When we first pulled up, we almost went somewhere else, but I'm so glad we didn't. There were 6 of us, and every single person enjoyed their food. We started with the boudain egg rolls, then ordered the Bayou, Sampler, and Cajun boils, a chicken fried steak, and the Redfish Pontchartrain. Even our one-year-old loved her mac and cheese and fried okra. Everything was delicious. They are BYOB, which was great, and Pinky's is just down the road if you need to grab something before dinner. The cheesecake and beignets were the perfect desserts for our birthday girls. The service was amazing as well. Our server was kind, attentive, and even got the staff to sing to my daughter, which made the evening extra special. My only complaint is that it was a little warm inside, but that wasn't enough to take away from a great experience. We'll definitely be back and will be recommending this spot to family and friends whenever they're in town.

The ambience its self was weird as the restaurant itself was clearly built to be a German medieval pub style restaurant and everything looked and felt old, tired, and touches dirty. None of these things were awful or dealbreakers by them selves, but just stacked up for a very mid meal and dinner experience

Wow! We ordered delivery and it was surprisingly good - a variety of dishes (cheese ravioli,…read moreAlfredo, lasagna, baked ziti) and all were hot, fresh and very tasty. The rolls were great also, along with the fried ravioli. This will become a regular goto when we want Italian.

Being our first visit, we tried to sampler so that we could experience 3 of the apps at once. The calamari, mozzarella sticks and "toasted" ravioli all seemed to be fried in the same batter, and the same oil. I would question the quality of the items even before frying.... and the frying didn't help their cause. I ate one bland, not-so-fresh tasting calamari ring, one bite of a mozzarella stick and one bite of the ravioli. The rest of the appetizer went home to the dog. I mean, this place is dated, and this I knew before eating. Which is fine--I think many of us have a need to experience the nostalgia of the Italian restaurants of yesteryear. Rubber grapes hanging from the ceilings, painted images of Italy on the wall. Unchanged from when I was a teenager in Western NY and we would go out for Italian; the decor and menu seem to be the same. But the quality of ingredients needs to be current. We have come to expect better! A lot of Italian places are doing more creative things, with better calamari. Appetizers such as burrata and carpaccio are present on modern Italian menu's. If you are going to stick with the old stuff, it needs to be GREAT. Okay, enough of the negativity. The Chicken Florentine ordered by my companion was very good. The sauce was nice, flavorful, and not too heavy (although perhaps too generous but that's going back to the dated thing). I have a sampler of stuffed pastas, and the red sauce was very much to my liking. A touch of sweet, not too acidic, just the way I like sauce to be. They have a decent wine selection. I didn't try the desserts. I'm quite a cannoli purist...and I hate to be disappointed, so I didn't risk it. Overall--we'll be back. We'll be back for the friendly and consistent service, the generally good food (skip the fried stuff), and the kitschy ambience.

Casual. We sat at the bar and our bartender was amazing! He was funny and attentive despite being very busy! Service: The restaurant was so busy with diners even at 8:30 PM on a Saturday evening. I did not expect it to be this busy in my head. My husband and I sat at the bar since that was open seating and there were no sit down tables available inside or on the patio. The restaurant will add you to the waitlist if you'd like! Food: My husband and I shared the deviled eggs appetizer, and "the burger" with grilled jalapeños and pepper jack cheese. The deviled wggs (satan's huevos) were good, and spicy because we chose the "hellfire" option. The burger was huge! I'm glad my husband I split it because there was no way I'd finish that burger on my own! We both left content and not stuffed.

We looked at the menu online prior to coming and knew that we both wanted to try the cheese steak, so this was a bit of a bummer. They waitress who was very attentive told us that we can't order from the full menu for another 30 minutes so we decided to wait rather than leave. Listen, I get it the idea of having a different menu for brunch, but why not post it on your website and state the specific times for each menu? Also, what difference does 30 minutes make? They couldn't fire up the grill 30 minutes early? It wasn't very busy. Anyways, now for the good part: When we were finally allowed to order our sandwiches they were absolutely amazing. The steak was high quality and the gooey cheese had a ton of flavor. What wasn't amazing however was the bill. $20 for a sandwich and a small portion of fries in Abilene is absolute insanity. What's even crazier is we were charged extra for a side of ranch! I understand you get what you pay for, and there's no arguing the quality of the sandwich was top notch, but at the end of the day it's still just a sandwich. If you're good with dropping nearly $60 (including tip) on lunch, then this is your spot. For me, I'll take my business elsewhere.
