One star because I can't post zero. The service was horrific. 1 hour to get our food and when it came it was lukewarm and not good. I had sausage and shrimp and the sausage was mushy and the overall dish was mediocre at best. I also tried the stuffed mushrooms. As near as I could tell, they were just loads of breadcrumbs no flavor. We had to clear the table ourselves between appetizers and main course because the wait staff had clearly not been trained to do that. We did it again after eating to make room for dessert. Our guest of honor wanted cheesecake so we ordered some. It looked good but I have no idea how it tasted because it was COMPLETELY FROZEN!! She ended up taking it home. We couldn't even cut it with a knife. We were celebrating a birthday for an elderly family member who chose the restaurant so didn't feel right about giving an honest response to the manager when he came by. Given the nation wide closures of numerous Red Lobster locations and significant corporate financial problems, you'd think they would really go the extra mile to make the last few operational locations an exceptional experience. 2/19/26 We were told the wait would be a while when we were seated in the corner and we waited with our water. It was not crowded. Everyone around us was waited in including people we think came in after us. The couple next to our table were served many trips with food etc and their waitress never even looked at us. We obviously still had our menus and no food. No waiter ever took our order in 70 minutes. I finally got up and found a waiter and told him we waited 70 minutes with no one taking our order. He agreed that was too long but neither he nor anyone else came over. After nearly 90 minutes we got up and left. No one seemed to notice. read more

We went to Red Lobster because we hadn't been in a couple of years, and we quickly remembered why. As soon as we walked in the lobster tank was so cloudy you could barely see the lobsters at all. When we finally got our tea was cloudy like it had been sitting there for days! We waited well over an hour for food that was cold. Our server kept making excuses! Sorry, I am not usually a server! The kitchen is backed up! She had to ask if we wanted our salads BEFORE the meal! Our appetizer FINALLY came out and it was cold. When we finally got our meals, my husband got food he didn't even order, it was cold, it was over $40 but we weren't about to wait another hour for his actual order so he ate it anyway. It was before 6 and we had asked for more rolls and she said they were in the oven. It was dinner rush! Why were there not any ready? When we told our server that wasn't even his order, she came back and gave us a $10 credit! There may have been 20 people in there total. There was absolutely no reason to have such bad service and food! Needless to say we won't be back! read more

Red Lobster is a bit spendy but rarely disappoints! Everybody knows their biscuits are great and if Lobsterfest happens to coincide with my birthday then obviously I have to get lobster... if you're ordering lobster might as well go all the way and make it surf n turf! The sirloin was perfectly medium-well (just slightly pink throughout) and the lobster, broccoli and buttery baked potato were all excellent! Jumbo Coconut Shrimp is always a win with the Piña Colada Sauce as is the Lobster Pizza and the Clam Chowder (get a bowl not a cup) but save room (and money) for dessert... can't go wrong with the Brownie Overboard or the Chocolate Wave! $8 might seem a little steep but they're pretty big and really good! They used to give you one for free on your birthday but now it's a free sundae (2 scoops with chocolate and caramel... can't beat free)! Mellisa was our excellent and super friendly waitress and it's a typical Red Lobster... classy enough but pretty chill with comfy chairs, soft music and really pretty coastal pictures all around, actual metal utensils and good food served on hot or cold plates! Not the best experience, a lot of issues this trip. 1. My popcorn shrimp were not cleaned AT ALL! (See photos) 2. The table next to us was an elderly couple that struggled with paying on the presto table cashier, they asked for a receipt after paying and later realized that they had been assigned the wrong ticket and overpaid. I will say the restaurant was very clean and our waitress Aarin was wonderful she did her best to make things right and was very attentive. However as we were walking out a different waitress was vaping in a little room next to the hostess desk so that was my third and final reason for my 1 star review. read more

Steak and lobster dinner is what we ordered, what we got was was tough steak and baby lobster for one meal the other was charcoal and another small lobster. I was eating my salad and visiting with another person when this came out and didn't notice till the waitress left. She did not return until time to pick up the plates. Will I return probably not! The red lobster in Abilene was not worth the time or money. The waitress told us they were out of salad. I said what? she said we have cesar salad. I said do you have ranch dressing she said yes. For the price, the 4-course feast is unbeatable! 16 bucks gets you a soup, salad, entree, and dessert! The clam chowder soup was pretty tasty as was the Cesar salad. Folks! It is Shrimp fest!! They do not take reservations. That's my only complaint. We wait for our turn. They are very popular. Ok, the rolls are to die for! Love their Lobster-Rita!! We come here every now and then. The main reasons we come is that my wife really only eats shrimp here and no other places. She loves the popcorn shrimp. Too bad it's not on the endless shrimp deal. After giving up on Red Lobster for 4 years we went on 9/15/20 because we were given gift cards for Father's Day and my birthday. I was more than pleased by the experience. I ordered the Ultimate Feast and my wife had the Garlic Shrimp Scewers. First, the shrimp were all larger in size than they used to be. That was nice because a few years ago they served such small shrimp that I felt ripped off. The snow crab was a good sized portion and cooked perfectly. In the past it was tiny and boiled to the point of loosing all flavor. The lobster tail was still very small but appropriate for a large platter and cooked perfectly. The sides of ceasar salad and green beans were very good. The restaurant was clean and not too noisy. Our waitress was attentive to us and very polite. All in all a great experience. read more

This was my first time coming to a red lobster, and I was very disappointed. The only thing that was good, were the biscuits and strawberry margarita. They gave us dirty silverware, not once BUT TWICE. It wasn't just a little dirty, but there was still food and grease on the forks. I most definitely notified a manager. Had the Admiral's Feast and it was delicious except for the asparagus. They used canned asparagus, stuck it under a broiler to warm and it was so incredibly tough a rabbit couldn't chew through it. The restaurant is getting better but advertising fresh asparagus and then using canned tells me the kitchen still needs more training. I usually like stopping by Red Lobster between 2pm and 5pm since business is usually slow during that time. This visit was a little different since it seemed like all the customers were seated in one section and the one waitress was already overwhelmed. First problem was they didn't have a table like I requested and only had a half table and booth. Drinks came out without a hitch. Lizzy was patient in taking our orders. And the Cheddar Bay Biscuits were delicious. Service went down hill from there. It appeared to me there might be only one waitress in the whole restaurant since three dinner plates arrived and the other two came out later. Who likes to watch other people eat? That after we waited so long for our food and it was cold. Everyone enjoyed there Salmon but fries were hard and the Shrimp Linguini Alfredo has obviously sat under a lamp for way too long. The baked potatoes seemed like they were days old. They were disgusting. The other problem I observed was our waitress never asked us how our food or how we were doing as she went out of her way to do with other customers sitting close by. Glasses were left empty until we asked for refills. I mean we had to ask for every single thing we wanted but for others close by she would regularly ask if there was something they needed. I'm not sure if this was intentional or not. Just can't say but it made for a very unpleasant Red Lobster experience. Most of the store appeared clean except the carpets looked like they hadn't been vacuumed in a while. And the men's restroom had a very strong fish smell in it. GROSS. A really pleasant experience. The waiter was very friendly. Always asking if we needed anything, and kept our tea full at all times. The potato soup is pretty good! I like more seasoning but that was quickly resolved with some pepper and Tabasco. I was skeptical about the crab legs being so far from the ocean, but I gotta tell you.. I got the Crab Garlic Bake and man.. That crab was perfect! No fishy or crabby taste.. The the flavors in the dish all complimented each other very well! I'm used to Joe's but this dish is as close as your going to get! The shrimp in the dish were also cooked and seasoned perfectly. I would defiantly recommend eating here! Besides the Bake, which is a MUST HAVE, they also have a four course meal option hidden in the menu on a small flap. With this you get a soup, salad, entree and a desert. Had a meal at Red Lobster last weekend, with the crew. Only my 2nd time to ever eat there the 1st time was over 2 years ago. I may hit up Long Johns from time but not a huge seafood lover. With that said the service was good, the crowd flowed in and out fairly quickly for a Friday night. Nothing wrong there..... The Waiter we had was friendly enough ever if I could not understand what he was saying, sounded like he had a mouth full of marbles in his mouth. I'M OK WITH THAT! I have been going to Red Lobsters since the late 70's. Back then, you dressed nice to even go there, because the quality was very high, the service very high, and the price was high. I can live with all of that. It was that good. A great place to take a date. Over the years Red Lobsters changed with the times, but the food was still pretty damn good. So, I stayed on as a customer. The service was still good, but the remodels at all of them took a toll on the whole experience. The little things were gone. And then Red Lobster joined the corporate bandwagon......! Was I in a Red Lobster...? Thinking maybe we came at wrong time, but now the food was suffering from what it was known for. Rubbery lobster, ammonia smelling crab legs { aka spoiled crab legs}, salads not even half as good as in the past. So, last night, I guess out of habit, we tried Red Lobster for the last and final time. I called ahead to check waiting time. The mgr. said there is no waiting time. FRIDAY NIGHT, 6:30PM, and NO WAIT TIME....? We soon found out why. We were seated and the place was pretty dead. The smell of a dirty restaurant { everyone knows that smell..! } was strong. The waitress had an excuse for everything. We waited for drinks, we waited for straws. { She had 10 pens but not one straw, and had another staff member bring one straw. I guess my wife and I were supposed to share.} Red lobster biscuits are famous, so why did we have to wait 15 minutes to get them, and another 20 minutes to get another batch. BTW, 3 biscuits for two people. { guess we were supposed to split the third one. How romantic.... and stingy...! }. Looking at the one piece of paper menu, there is a chicken sandwich....??? And KUNG Pao Chicken...! RED LOBSTER...!!! { How about some BBQ while we are at it } Remembering the bad crab leg issue, I ordered shrimp scampi.. What a joke...! Rubbery shrimp in a flavorless butter{???} sauce. Tasteless..! Mashed potatoes ? A huge scoop of them...! This is an old restaurant trick to fill people up. When the mashed potato dominates the dish, something is wrong. I love seafood, but I left shrimp on the table this time. While all this is going on, the one table that had a family eating, complained about the same things we were. They soon left, and the staff comes to clean up, and takes his hand and pushes the bits of food on the floor. Wipes off the table only, and leaves the floor as is......! Other staff members came by and just tracked the food all over.. The filthy restaurant smell mystery solved. Red Lobster is now IMO a sinking ship. The place hit an iceberg a long time ago. The ship just hasn't sunk yet. A Friday night and no crowd tells me all I need to know. I predict Red Lobster will fold within two years. I'm never going back. read more
