Ribs was dry rub, on sweeter side; chicken was more smokey - both finger-licking, fall-off-bone deliciousness! Sides were great too. Holy cow (or pig, should I say)! This place came recommended by our AirBNB host and it did not disappoint. We arrived rather late on Saturday evening, so they were out of a few things, but boy, was it delicious!! we got ours to go and devoured it. I've had the food truck, I had to try the restaurant. Now, from the outside it doesn't look like much, but I've learned these are the best places. I wasn't wrong. Upon walking in you are greeted nicely and the inside is clean. The decor gives you a lot to look at and read. Ordered the food, sat down, and the food showed up shortly after. The portions are great for the price I think. The food is delicious. The best bbq I've had in a long time. The smoke is perfect. You can taste love in their food. Fat Boyz has had decent food in the past, but I had not been there in awhile. I was used to ordering the Loaded Baked Potato, which I loved; and I was not used to looking up at the ceiling for the menu. But before I even got the words out of my mouth, the girl cut me off and said "We don't have that any more." She didn't even start with "I'm sorry," just snapped. So I said "OK, I'll have the pulled pork plate." Granted there was a huge menu above my head, but you literally have to hold your head back at a 90 degree angle to see it. I was looking around on the counter for it. I asked what the sides were and she just pointed up. I chose two sides but didn't look at the price because I assumed they were included with a "plate.". Apparently they were ala carte. I paid $18!!! When she brought my sack to me, I looked and it was a wrapped sandwich...not a plate at all. I said "This is a sandwich???" All she did was point to the menu again and say "It says a sandwich and two sides." The whole time this twenty-something kept calling me "Hon." I am in my seventies! I have enjoyed eating there before, but I knew I was not going to pay those prices again and put up with that attitude, so I said "I'm not trying to be ugly, but I won't be back." As I walked out the door, she said very sarcastically "That's fine!" Again...not even "I'm sorry." So I paid $18 for a sandwich and LOUSY customer service For the last time. This is a very good place. Very tasty and large portions at a lower cost. We stopped in for lunch and loved it. The service was excellent but the food was even better. This though is one of those genuine places where it is obvious the owners knew how to cook but not how to decorate. Food is top notch. But to the owners, this is not a hookah lounge or gas station. Like some decorating suggests. Remove the automotive items from the bathroom and open the curtains to let the light in. I nearly left because I thought it was closed. No lights on or anything. I was tired and hungry after a long drive to Broadway after a long day of work and I did quick searches for a well-reviewed restaurant with food to go. Enter Fat Boyz BBQ. Since it was a Friday night and the place had so many good reviews, I assumed it would be quite full and a long wait, but there were just two other parties in the restaurant, so it was a quick and easy process for me to order my food and get it quickly (well, deciding which side dish I wanted did take awhile, but then they were out of one of the ones I wanted, so the decision was made easier.) It was a good choice for what I was looking for, but ultimately not particularly remarkable. Brisket, cole slaw, and mac & cheese were all good, but, again, I do think I've had better. read more

i've eaten here three times. I've had the barbecue sandwich the brisket sandwich, which were both really really good. on my third visit I had a rack of ribs. They were very, very good. Also, the sides are very good. I would highly recommend this place. The service is great. The only thing is that I have a problem with. Is you gotta get rid of the automotive stuff I pulled in saw no lights on you. Gotta open it up. Let people know that you're open other than you're open sign other than that. It was great. Fat Boyz BBQ is to die for. I have tried almost everything on the menu and loved it all. Today I tried the Grilled Chicken Sandwich and it was totally awesome. I could not have asked for anything better. I called my order in and they had everything ready when I got there. This place is the best! The restaurant itself is very comfortable and cozy.
