All the good things we had!

Everything was excellent. Highly recommend the onion rings, Cole slaw and baked potato salad for sides. All the meats were excellent. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Nice atmosphere with easy ordering at lunch.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Nice find on a road trip.

Really great BBQ joint with a massive menu. Everything from all your traditional BBQ favorites to chicken fried steak. Love the look of the interior! The brisket salad was very good. I liked the mustard based sauce slightly more than the other, but both were great. This was during lunch so you ordered at the counter. The menu covers an entire wall, making it a bit hard to order unless you are a regular there. I believe in the evenings you order table side. When I'm driving through again, this will be a planned stop!

My nephew and I made a trip to McGehee in November to take care of some family business. We ate at Hoots both nights we were in town. Hoots' BBQ and our service were just the best. [[HIGHLIGHT]]We sat in the bar area both nights and the first night we had the BBQ beef brisket potato and the BBQ beef brisket salad.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The homemade ranch dressing was best I have ever tasted. This meal was so good that we made reservations to come back on our second night. That night we ordered the sampler plate with onion rings along with a half rack of the ribs. Both the pulled pork and the beef brisket were so tender that they just melted in our mouths. Their homemade barbecue sauces were so delicious! The mustard sauce was my favorite! The ribs were so tender that the meat just fell off the bone. We knew they had been slow cooked for hours to be that tender. We stuffed ourselves both nights. This is truly some of the best barbecue we have ever had. The prices there were very reasonable too. The wait staff was very friendly and helpful too. It is no wonder that this place is so well known for its barbecue. Go there and try some. You won't be disappointed.

This is an excellent place to eat. The owner is speaks of the restauranteurs life as a lifestyle choice. This says it all. If one is on committed to the lifestyle choice of running a restaurant, they shouldn't go in the business, per the owner. This is her philosophy, and it speaks volumes as evidence of the entrées delivered to us. Oysters on the half shell were of a good size, fresh and tasty. Barbecue dishes, of course are their specialty. Try the sampler if you're not sure what to get -- it offers, brisket, pork, ribs, and chicken. Other in our group of six also tried Poboys, fresh shrimp, all of which were excellent. Go and enjoy.

Hoot's has been on my must try BBQ restaurants for sometime now. We were visiting with a park ranger, telling him of our travel plans and he recommended we try it. So glad we were in the area! This was easily some of the best sliced brisket I've ever had...no joke! My wife had a BBQ baked potato which she also loved...perfectly baked. My BBQ beans and cole slaw were good, but typical of most BBQ restaurants. The only marginal item was the side of toast. It was a bit dry. We split pecan pie for dessert...delicious! In fact, we enjoyed it so much we ordered a piece of carrot cake & German chocolate cake to go. They were equally delicious! Service was very friendly and speedy. If you love great BBQ, you must add Hoot's to your list!

The food was excellent. You order at the counter but they bring you your food. I will definitely come back here again the next time I'm in the area it was a barbecue joint but they also had burgers and they had this country fried steak and that's what I got the french fries are homemade which is a plus for me.

BBQ pork burger which includes a hamburger patty , bbq pulled pork, mustard bbq sauce and mayonnaise. Also shown potato salad

Good food. Had the smoked chicken sandwich. I added mayo, bbq and avocado to it. Fries are homemade and so good.

Hell, I go to Doe's in Monroe every single time I am in Monroe. When I would profess my love for Doe's to my Mississippi friends they would always tell me: "you have to go to the Greenville location. It's the original". I figured they were right but also figured I would never be in Greenville since there are not many things to do there. But 2025 was the year that I finally made it here. We made a special stop on the way to Eureka Springs. It was everything I had hoped and I absolutely loved it. You must know that this is the original location and it is not fancy on the outside or the inside. Parking is mostly on the street and the neighborhood seems a wee bit sketchy. The building looks like an old house from the outside. Needless to say, the kids were skeptical and wondered why their dad drug them here. That continued when we walked in to the kitchen, walked through the other kitchen, and were seated in one of the rooms. One of the kids said: "I feel like I am dining at someone's house". Exactly. This place is famous! All skepticism was washed away when we got our food. A ribeye and fries for me and a fillet and fries for them to share. Both were perfectly cooked, full of flavor, and made this Doe's fan grin from ear to ear. It was a great meal I will remember forever. Was it cheap? Definitely not. For two entrees, a beer, and a tea, it was around $200 with a tip. Was it worth it to me? Hell yes. I freakin loved it. Is it worth a drive from New Orleans just to eat here? Probably not. Should you divert a road trip to eat here? Absolutely. By the way, service was exactly as you would expect. Super friendly and we were treated like regulars despite it being our first time. Also, there was a cop working outside so don't be scared.
