Another great experience at Hopdoddy! We stopped in to try the latest burger of the month, the Brazilian Wagyu. This burger was amazing and definitely lived up to the Hopdoddy excellence in burgers. Don't be scared by the sauces or cheese;you have to get it just like it comes. The chimichurri sauce, the salsa and the garlic herb mayo are chefs kiss when paired together. My husband loves the Cadillac burger and gets it every time. I let him try the Brazilian and he said, that burger is amazing. He liked it better than his tried and true. We are going to have to come back this month because he wants to get a whole one to himself. As usual the service was superb and the staff is always friendly and inviting. We came in on a Saturday night around 6:30 and there was a line out the door. We love Hopdoddy and are always excited to check out their burger creations. The burger with crawfish Mac n. To all Hopdoddy staff and management, My family and I have stopped at this restaurant to get something to eat and the service we have experienced today has significantly changed a lot since the last time we have eaten here. The Men's bathroom was disgusting, not clean at all. Additionally, some of the food varieties and items changed even though it did not have to. I am unsure if favoritism is being shown to some individuals compared to others or what the case is. For instance, when I asked for a large bowl of fries i meant a large bowl of fries as it is $7. Otherwise, one would have refused to pay that particular price. Do not get me wrong, this is a nice restaurant with an amazing atmosphere as always, throughout all of the times I have been here. Trying to get 10 people to agree on a restaurant is a tall order I must admit, especially when seven of those people happen to be 16 years old and younger. My cousins and I and barked on the challenge of feeding all of our kids and having limited issues. After much Internet research, one Cousin decided this was the spot that we needed to trek too to make as many people happy as possible. We walked in to complete wall and mountain of people. It was pure chaos. We got to the end of the line where we were given a little white piece of paper and told that it would be impossible to see all 10 of us at one table, but they could probably get two tables of five that would work for us. It was extremely hot outside and although it would be easier to stay outside outside was not an option. We decided to see the kids at the tables while we re-organize ourselves to figure out how we are gonna order with our big group. This is where we made our first mistake unbeknownst to us. Since we thought we had assigned seats, we took our time getting everyone's order online thinking that we could order online to make everything easier. This ended up being incorrect. Also, suddenly, while sitting down employees started taking our tables from us and rearranging them, informing us that we needed to have stayed in line and the tables that we have on our little piece of paper. We're actually not our tables at all. This came as quite a shock. We walked back over to the chaotic front door, which I can't help, but think is a fire hazard and found a very small sign hidden behind all the people that informs everybody that they must stay in line and cannot go sit down at the tables they've been assigned. How does this make any sense? If the table is not yours until you order, then the table should not be assigned to you until after you order. Our kids were moved from table to table to table while we got in line trying to order our food. There are lots of other odd rules like ordering from the bar. We were told we could not order alcoholic drinks from where we order the food and we should really just order our drinks in line while waiting to order our food which didn't seem to really make any sense but we follow directions. The food itself was wonderful and Once. We understood what we are supposed to do. It turned out OK but the beginning of this experience was not good and it would've been much more helpful. Go early and you won't be disappointed. The shakes are to die for. The smash burger was so incredible. The had the family business vibe, which made you want to join the family and dive in. Burgers are SUPER dry. I got regular beef and my husband got bison and both burgers were beyond dry. The farmhouse deluxe tasted as if you were eating overly salted cardboard. We wanted to check this place out for a while now and finally had the opportunity to do so and severely disappointed. Won't be back. The buns were good so 2 stars for that. I love Hopdoddy!! I had been to the one of the Nashville locations, but I just recently tried the Memphis location. The service was wonderful, and everyone was very friendly. It's in a nice shopping center on Poplar, so it's typically pretty busy all hours of the day. Very casual vibe, but I love that they offer alcoholic milkshakes. I love when a place has their own little thing, and that's theirs! Any favorite shake I've tried so far, though, is actually the non-alcoholic Nutella Pretzel or something like that. They add actual pretzels to the top of it and it's just delish!! 4/5 stars solely because the price for the dining experience (which is a wonderful, but CASUAL dining experience) is super steep in my opinion. read more

I finally tried Hopdoddy for Mother's Day weekend. My mom highly recommends this restaurant to me, so my brothers and I took her to dinner at Hopdoddy. You can tell this is a popular place because there were many people inside and outside the restaurant. It was very busy inside, but we were able to get a seat. We ordered our food at the counter and waited for the main entrees. While we waited for the main entree, we all shared a big bowl of Parmesan Truffle Fries. The fries were a good way to start our meal. We just kept eating them, and had to force ourselves to stop eating them so we don't get too full before our main entrees come. When I saw my entrée in front of me, I was so excited. My main entree was the Mother Nature Burger. It was so beautiful to look at, and delicious to eat. The Mother Nature Burger had crispy onions, caramelized onions, cheese frico, fried egg, and Au Poivre Aioli. The combination of the crispy onions and caramelized onions was an excellent choice. Went to Hopdoddy two times this week. Had good experiences both times. Sunday we decided to dine at the bar and enjoy the half off specials. It was fun at the bar and the place was hopping with business. They run half off happy hour of food and beverages Sunday through Thursday beginning at 3:00 pm and lasting until 6:00 pm. You must sit at the bar. I had the Thunderbird Burger. It was a fresh ground chicken patty topped with pepper jack cheese, steakhouse bacon, seared poblanos, pico de gallo, guacamole, lettuce & chipotle aioli sauce. It was quite yummy. Shared a bowl of Parmesan truffle fries. I was full but took advantage of the half off salted caramel milk shake. Took that home to enjoy. This evening I had the Llano poblano burger but opted to have it on top of Brussel sprouts. It was really tasty. Had Truffle fries again. Took half of my food home. The service was spot on even with all the patrons. The place can fit many people and the acoustics slightly reverberates. You have to talk louder to hear each person talk. There are many tables and booths and tables outside. When you walk inside the restaurant, you place your order of food. Then it is brought to your table. The service is fast and efficient! There is a self service water and drink fountain. We had a good time on both occasions. I will return to try other burgers. read more

I was visiting Memphis and staying at an hotel nearby so I stopped in for a quick lunch. I'd been to a Hopdoddy location in Austin and enjoyed it so I figured it was a safe bet. However, one of the hotel employees warned me that it wasn't very good and suggested that I go to Huey's instead. Well, I didn't listen and had to laugh as I told him that I should have followed his advice! I ordered a regular burger (well done) with fries and a Coke. The burger wasn't well done. It was barely medium well. It was edible but I couldn't eat the last few bites because there was too much pink. For some reason they bring out the fries before the burger so by the time I was halfway done eating it the fries had gotten cold! I don't recall that happening when I visited the Hopdoddy's in Texas. If I had realized that was going to be the case I would have requested that my food be brought out together. Speaking of the fries... they could have been cooked a little longer. A friend asked me to meet her here for lunch, and I can tell you that I did NOT intend to review the place going in. I don't eat meat, and try to opt for healthier choices. Upon arrival I was delighted to see alternative meat menu items. I choose an Ahi burger without the bun, my friend had more typical fare of a cheeseburger and order of fries. Whoa, that ahi burger was over $18, but it was delicious. The tempura nori served on top was out of this world. They honestly should offer baskets of them. The ginger lemonade is great, too. All these things aside, two outstanding things made me write this review. During what should have been lunch rush (12:40) pm, there weren't many people in line, so servers circulated the dining room offering free fries because they had made too many. And these weren't cold leftovers, either! I thought that showed a really great (and rare) business model. After we finished lunch we decided to sit out on the patio a bit and visit just a little more before going our separate ways. After a few minutes, a server came outside to ask if we wanted water because it was so hot outside. These are not common ways of doing business in Memphis, and I applaud the owners for cultivating such a great environment for their customers and staff. Alright look this one star is just to get the business to recognize "Cashless" shouldn't be normalized.... You take a $100 cash bill in 2025 and use it , it stays $100. You take $100 in "digital currency" and use it through 3-8 hands , it becomes $70 after all the fees. For a business to be cashless and cutting off anyone wanting to use cash, they're also shooting themselves in the foot for tips+taxes. Stop cashless establishments. This place is great. I almost always get the double bacon jam burger. I like a good burger but I'm not a giant burger fan. I'm not really a bacon fan. But hot damn, that bacon jam burger is the shit. We're talking amazing. So so delectable. The shareable fries are fun and delicious. This time I got the chocolate shake and added skrewball peanut butter whisky. It was good bot not worth the $9 or $10 or whatever it cost. And the total bill for 4 of us including 3 shakes was over $100. Ouch. Too pricy. Y'all, this is the best restaurant meal I've had since having to go gluten-free and dairy-free! Everyone is so knowledgeable (and so nice) about the cooking practices (shared frier, gluten free options, etc). The burger was SO good and so were the fries -- which are fried in their own frier!! This review comes from a good place. We stopped in on a Thursday evening after work and the place was half full and a nice vibe but I instantly noticed the setup meaning the numbers on the tables. Stepped up to place my order and asked what's with the numbers. He explained and we placed our order. This young man was patient and kind. We placed our order and found a table. We also placed a bar drink order along with food order at the register. The sides are ordered as a dish and there is brussel sprouts and fries which is listed as shareable. So I ordered truffle parmesean brussel spouts and there was way too much parmesean cheese so I sent back and I promise it was about the same about, too much. But the more I swished it around the more the truffle oil distributed and that became too much as well. I was unable to eat them. The also deep fry them and looked to spray the truffle oil which was to me too much and then doused in parm cheese. Next the burger Doddymelt which of couse is a take on the classic pattymelt. The pattymelt is popular because it is a patty and cheese on toasted bread and while this melt had carmelized onions the taste just and essence of a pattymelt was missing for me. I will admit and hate these pre-made burgers being used in resturants but this was just not a classic pattymelt vibe. Overall the burger was just ok, nothing special. We are halfway through our meal and the cocktails we ordered arrived. I will let me picture speak to that presentation but the Pinkman cocktail was not bad at all. The kitchen was cranking out the orders and they were getting busy as the dinner hour quickly approached. My biggest issue was the bartender wearing the same pair if gloves carrying a box from the back directly to the bar and continue to make drinks without changing gloves! I was floored but the drink was good so always pray over your food/drinks! I also got food togo and the order was incorrect but I should have checked before I left. I did not like the first visit that much but the second visit was much better. Came here on a Saturday afternoon to be with a party of 8. The place was packed but management did a good job trying to put us all at the same table. It did take a while to make it happen. I got to try the Nacho Fries, Nutella Pretzel milkshake, and Double Bacon Jam burger. The Nacho Fries are loaded with taco seasoning, sour cream, queso, and guac but I prefer the sweet potato fries. The milkshake was extremely thick but drinkable through the straw. This was a much better milkshake than last time. The burger was amazing. I will return. read more

-1 star for price vs. value. 104 bucks for 4 burgers, 2 fries (shared amongst 4 people now to be fair these are big damn orders of fries) 1 coke and 3 milkshakes (1 with booze). So again, to be fair and transparent, 3 milkshakes and 1 of those had booze added. But if you take away the 3 milkshakes (@23 bucks) and put 3 fountain drinks back in you're at 90 dollars which is still crazy for burgers fries and drinks. The fries are big orders, we had 2 which was really too much for 4 people. We had chili Queso and truffle. Both were very good and I'd be hard pressed to only choose 1. I found the experience disappointing. They were having issues, and people ordering after me were served, but I was not. They said my order got lost, but my card was charged. I even tipped, then was left sitting for 40 minutes without my lunch. NONE of the staff initiated contact. I was required to initiate contact. The kitchen staff said they would get a manager to talk to me, but the manager stood beyond the counter and stared at me instead of engaging. I finally left without my food. I will not be back. This store clearly cannot provide solid customer service, does not communicate when they have issues, and doesn't care. Hopdoddy is one of my go-to date spots as it has a great atmosphere and really tasty atmosphere. I think most of the negative comments are likely about it being a little pricey, but I will say despite the price, I have never not enjoyed my food here. Their fries are very good and give you plenty to share for 2 (queso is my favorite but the parm ones are very good too). They have the best milkshakes of any restaurant I've been to which they better be for the price, they are just the perfect consistency to slurp and very creamy. The burgers aren't huge, but they are good. If their prices were about 15-20% cheaper, then it would get 6 stars! read more

Very tasty burgers - vegetarian included. Very fast service too which is always terrific if the quality stays the same (which it does here). The French fries order, or even the larger sharables portion, is always generous and a must-add to the otherwise solo burger order. We did try the Brussels but found them to be a little too odd... hundreds of sprout leaves that are difficult to spear on a fork when they're basically all fried and oily. Super tasty though, and I certainly appreciated the novelty, but remain 50:50 regarding the odds on whether I'd bother again with the sprouts as a side. read more
