Our girls group of 8 went here for our monthly lunch. I have learned a hard way pleasing eight women at different lunch place. Every time is a quest and I scored on all counts with Magnolia and May! Typically, we eat at a different place every month to "test the market." But it was unanimous that we come back here next month. We all want to try something different as everyone thought their entrée was the best. Everyone was a bit concerned about the location and parking, but it was easy to locate and easy to park. Service with impeccable and food was fabulous. There were many varied choices for lunch so we all got something different with no complaints!! That's a win for the home team The entrees were savory, cooked to perfection and spot on. The decor was very comfortable, the lighting was perfect as were the fixtures . I have been to Monkeygrass Mayhem coffee truck twice and have loved the coffee! The first visit was at the old truck near Sea Isle Park. I went in December. My coffee was yumminess with white chocolate and espresso. I ordered it half sweet and it was well balanced. My second visit was at The Poplar Plaza shopping center. Another awesome latte! Colin and Sammy were the baristas for both visits. They were super kind and helpful. Loved the new truck decked out in pink. Will find them again in the city since their lattes are balanced between the espresso and variety of offered flavors. Great new coffee truck to return to each week! read more

We actually came back a second time because we couldn't even remember much about the first visit, and that kind of says it all. This round was better--still solid and definitely delish in spots, but not something that blows you away. Foodwise, the pork chop had good flavor and came out tender, though it leaned on the fatty side, which distracted from how tasty it could've been. The trout was fine, cooked well enough, but just didn't bring much to the table--it was one of those dishes that fills you up but doesn't stick in your memory. Service and ambiance were both relaxed and easygoing, making it a comfortable place to hang out. This is a cute little place, but kind of tucked away. It's on a side street and parking is scarce. My husband and I came for lunch a when they first opened for the day and there was no one there. Our waitress was nice and attentive. The food is okay. Looks really nice but the tastes are just... off. The fries were too salty and this was a kids plate. The chicken and French toast were good together, but the sauce (tasted like a sweet chili) was odd with it. The brunchwrap was very bland. It had a lot going on, but needed some more seasoning or some kind of flavor. The fried green tomatoes were the best part. Those were good and crunchy. The charcuterie board was interesting. My husband & I came for lunch a little after noon. Plenty of seating and the ambiance was wonderful. Our waitress was very knowledgeable and attentive. The food. The best thing we ate was the Fried broccoli the sauce was great. He had the Bruno wrap tha was supposed to come with chorizo but they gave him unseasoned ground beef and a mixture of things in a tortilla. I ordered a patty melt that was supposed to have 2 patties but it was just a unseasoned BLAND patty cut in half. The food was portioned for the size of toddler plates for the price. We spent $75. This was my first time having brunch at Magnolia &May. The buffalo broccoli was my favorite appetizer,freshly fried and stuffed with blue cheese. The deviled eggs topped with caviar were delicious just need more seasoning. Next I had the grilled ny steak strip with hash-browns, fried egg and side salad. I did order the steak strip medium just so I can taste the flavor and juice. The waitress was very friendly and checked on me multiple times. Shoutout to our server and wonderful hostess! I simply adore the decor of this hidden gem of a restaurant! It is a quaint local place that has wonderful and delicious food. My friend and I wanted to try brunch after church Sunday. We were not disappointed. We started off with the fried green tomatoes which had a lovely corn meal coating and tasty tomatoes with a delish sauce. Perfectly fried. I had the pulled pork tacos that were seasoned well and had a nice flavor. I ordered a side of biscuits that came with butter and homemade mixed berry preserves. It was good but a little dense for me. I also had the caramel macchiato bread pudding with coffee. That bread pudding was out of this world! My friend had the french toast and fried chicken. The bacon marmalade was a nice touch with the fried chicken. She also had the peach bourbon crisp. It was good but I really liked the bread pudding the best. The gelato was awesome. I have been coming to Magnolia & May with my family for at least the last 5 years - it truly is one of the best spots in the city for families with kids. I highly recommend enjoying the beautiful weather outside on the patio - your kids can play around while you enjoy a delicious meal, and there are always other families. If you love a holiday celebration, you can't miss their festive decorations and themed events. Highly recommend visiting at Halloween, Christmas, Mardi Gras, Easter, and the summer block party! Their house charcuterie is to die for - you have to order the hummus and the sausage and cheese board - I dream about that sausage and pickled veggies. Plus you can make your reservation on Resy, so if you use have an Amex platinum card, you can sign up for the benefit and get $100 per quarter back in statement credit! I came here a couple of times, the buffalo broccoli was actually pretty good and you get a good portion of it. The restaurant wasn't overly loud, there's a patio option available as well as an outdoor area on the side. My parents and sisters with their families have periodic meals out. We love Magnolia & May as those who are foodies and those who are more basic eaters all get a wonderful meal at a great price. Let me preface this with, this place is a solid 3.5 but yelp won't let me give half stars. We came here for brunch. The ambience is whimsical and fun. The service is amazing. The staff is Friendly andattentive and really helpful. And the drinks? Star of the meal. Creative and delicious. We had a couple of the seasonal drinks and they were truly unique and flavorful. The food is meh and I'd say unnecessarily ambitious. None of the food was bad, per se, but all of the more ambitious options over promised and under delivered. For example, The Okinamoyaki (which kinda doesn't fit anything else on the menu) was cooked and browned weirdly while the short rib sandwich was juicy and tasteless. Neither were bad but there were missed details on both. However, the more simple staples like buffalo brocolli and the eggs, bacon and biscuits were fine..good even. I had high hopes coming to this place having seen the review. I was able to grab a spot at the bar before happy hour was over. I grabbed a glass of red wine (not bad for happy hour) and the tacos off their happy hour menu. The tacos were delicious! After that, the bartender suggested getting the tilefish over the fish. I had high hopes for this dish, but sadly the fish seemed spoiled as it smelled and without getting into details, let's say my evening was not great back at the hotel. I tried their chocolate bread pudding to which they were out of vanilla gelato. The bread pudding was average, not outstanding. I tried the tiramisu gelato as they were out of the vanilla which had an overpowering espresso taste to me. I'm not sure what the hype is about this place. If the fish wasn't spoiled, I'd have given it maybe an extra star. Now that I think about it, the tilefish is a temp on the menu, and once it was out, it'd be off, makes me wonder how long the fish had truly been in the back if they were tying to get rid of it and if that is why I was pushed towards that entree. read more

I got the side salad and the person with me got the Cobb salad. Literally every single cherry tomato was bad. So bad there is NO way they could have been placed on the salad without the preparer not realizing it. They hamburger pickles on the salad had pink something on them . It reminded me of the pink slime that sometimes gets on the ice machines. We sat at the bar, and our bartender was nice enough. Drinks were good. Place has a good vibe. Cobb salad was ok except for the hamburger pickles and the rotten tomatoes. Oh, and the Diet Coke was good too. A dear friend and I ate lunch here yesterday and it was absolutely delicious! We had not seen each other in several months so we had alot to catch up on.We started with a mocktail and a cocktail which were so refreshing. So many restaurants seem to think that everything needs to be hot and spicy to taste good, which is not true- great flavor can be imbued without being mouth numbing hot! We had the Roasted pepper and bacon dip with avocado salsa with chips, and we made it a happy plate. Then, she had a strawberry salad with grilled shrimp which she said was very tasty, and I had a patty melt with fried green tomatoes.WOW! Now let me tell you about the food. We started off with the smoked redfish dip, which was to die for! The chips that accompanied were homemade and very, very good. We also had the sourdough w/apple, ricotta and hot honey which was also very good. For entrees, I ordered the butternut squash gnocchi which was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious. Other dishes we sampled: the collared green and fried chicken melt, patty melt, roast beef sandwich, pork shank grilled cheese. All were equally unique and delicious! I can't say enough good things. A friend suggested M&M for Sunday brunch, so I went online and made reservations. I arrived to a cute location tucked away on Mt. Moriah. Parking looks impossible, but be sure to pull around to the back where there are additional spots and a handicap accessible entrance. I had the breakfast burrito and while it was good, it could've been seasoned a bit more. I opted for a bottle of champagne with pomegranate juice instead of a cocktail, which is never a bad decision. Overall, it wasn't the best brunch I've ever had, but it was decent. But here's why I'm rating it three stars. My friend and I were seated in a spot where we really didn't see much happening around us. It was actually perfect because we haven't seen each other in a while and were enjoying catching up. Our waitress kept interrupting to ask if we were ok and other than assuming she was being overly helpful, we didn't think too much of it. We began to get extremely hot, so on about her fifth trip to the table we asked for another round of drinks. THAT'S when she pointed out that they had been closed for almost 20 minutes. There were other customers still seated at the bar so we never thought otherwise, and didn't realize we lost track of time. Rather than approaching us 20-30 mins before closing for last call/to close out the tab, they literally turned off the air in what I guess was an attempt to sweat us out.
