If I could give this cleaners zero stars I would. They damaged a white silk skirt, where the color was totally removed from the fabric. I tried to contact the owner multiple times. They completely gave me the run around. When I finally reached the owner by phone he told me to come back the next day that he would be there. When I went, his mother, who is always there, told me he is out of the country again. I said this skirt is still damaged. She told me it wasn't and refused to compensate me for the loss. I also took a Hermes sweater here. Before dropping off I told the owner's mother that the care tag said the button needed to be covered or removed before cleaning she assured me it would be. When I picked up the sweater, all they did was cover the sides in FOIL. Not cover the entire button. If you care a hit your clothes, do NOT bring here. read more

I have absolutely no idea what all these 1 star reviews are talking about. My entire family has been only using Hope Cleaners for the past 20 years because of how skillful she is. She is also super accommodating and was able to alter my sister's prom dress one day before the dance. She always remembers my mom, my sister and I and will ask how we are doing she is very sweet. When I lived in Fairfax for school I would still drive to Haymarket if I ever needed anything done. Jeans, shirts, skirts, dresses, anything you need she is amazing. Can never recommend this place enough. read more

I stopped going to Hope Cleaners early on in 2008 - twice they added what appeared to be rust stains to my new dress shirts. Never went back after that. Had I read these reviews before going to this cleaners it would have saved me having to deal with some really unprofessional, rude, people. Not only did they put a hole in one of my shirts, (Ralph Lauren) they acted so indifferent it was really sort of sickening. When I ask them if they were going to do anything about it, the first words out of the owners mouth was, small claims, boy did that shoot up some red flags, it went down hill from there. Yelp really needs to make it possible to award zero stars because FUCK this place. Seriously. Fuck it. You'd think getting a pair of pants altered wouldn't result in a lunatic of a business owner calling the cops but...guess what? I dropped off two pairs of pants over the weekend to have altered, they both just needed to be shortened 2". $22 for the pair. They told me they would be ready today (Tuesday) and since I work in Reston I had to hump it to get back down to Haymarket before they closed at 7PM. When I arrived there was a seriously pregnant woman there politely arguing with the guy behind the counter (an old guy with glasses) because this was her 2nd time picking up these pants they had altered because they had messed them up twice. I saw the pants, they had altered one leg short than the other by half an inch. Seriously? They guy kept saying they would "fix, fix, fix". She asked, so I have to keep coming back and he replied, "yes, we fix". She said she wanted a refund and he said, "no refunds- only fix" Great... So I gave the guy my receipt and promptly inspected my pants. While I was looking them over I was listening to the conversation and and the woman kept her cool the entire time but the guy was getting more and more belligerent. They had screwed up her pants twice and he refused to give her a refund. She told me that they had absolutely no customer satisfaction policy, NONE. I looked around at the walls and saw nothing, she said she did the same thing. She asked the guy and he said "No". As they were going back and forth I found a problem with one of my pairs of pants- they had not cut and sewn the cuff straight, it was totally crooked. At this point I spoke up and said, "You seriously aren't going to give this woman a refund after you screwed up her pants twice?" He yelled at me, seriously, yelled, that it was none of my business but I retorted that it was now because they had screwed up a pair of my pants too and now I had to deal with him. At this point I was under the mistaken impression that my wife had paid when we dropped them off. So the guy got belligerent when I told him I wanted a refund. He said no and continued yelling at me that I had to pay so I walked out with the pants. That old guy was on the phone within seconds calling the police and ran out and started rattling off my license plate into the phone- he had actually called 911. At this point I figured I'd better check that we had actually paid so I called my wife. Turns out we hadn't paid (oops) so I went back and immediately apologized to the guy but told him that I was not going to pay for the pair of pants they screwed up. He said if I did not that he would call the cops again. He said that I had to pay and he would "FIX". I said, "Fix? You haven't gotten her pants right two times!" We kept stressing to the guy that it was extremely inconvenient to keep coming back for them to fix our clothes and he kept yelling that it was NOT inconvenient. Seriously, not inconvenient? What part of any of this is convenient?!?!? We kept going back and forth and he started getting pretty violent snatching my pants and getting in my face trying to prove they were right but he kept measuring the inseam which was correct. The other customer could see how crooked the cuff was from 4 feet away. Finally the woman and I both got it through his head what the problem was and he kept saying, "FIX FIX FIX". At this point I had had enough. I gave him my card, told him congratulations, he had won, he got my $11 and that I would never set foot in his store again. He didn't care. The woman said the same thing, he didn't care, and walked out behind me. You would have to be insane to give this jerk-off any business. They do not give a crap about their customers at all- they don't care about doing the right thing or refunding money when they have obviously screwed up someone's clothing. Hell, they don't even care about doing their jobs properly! It's amazing to me how many good people there are out there who struggle to stay in business but people like this guy manage to keep their doors open. read more

I took two military uniforms in and need them pressed and dry cleaned. At pick up time one shirt was not done and was td come back in an hour. I did so and was rushed out. Upon coming home realized my dress shirt were not pressed and one one them did not looked like it was cleaned. Do not go there highly do not recommend it. Quality of work is terrible and so is customer service. read more

I have been using this place for my dry cleaning and the service wasn't great but the prices were fair. My last few trips (ranging back about a month) have been terrible. I dropped my clothes off on Tuesday and came back Thursday morning to grab them on the way to a business trip. I told her I needed them Wednesday night but it was helpful for her to get them Thursday morning so I told her that is fine. Come back Thursday and she said oh its not ready come back in the afternoon. I told her I was going out of town and I would now have to buy shirts to wear. They didnt offer a discount or anything for their mistake even though they have "Same day service". This time I came back and she had added an additional 5 dollar charge for a shirt. After I told her that doesnt seem right she said "Why are you arguing with me. Customers say okay. You didnt tell me what type of shirt this is." Expecting me to agree and not ask questions she was rude and told me it's not her problem. I have had 2 shirts come back with marks on them. It is terrible service and there are multiple around the area that offer same prices but better service. read more

DO NOT GO HERE! I brought in two pairs of pants to have the waist taken in. I already had them marked with a safety pin, but tried them on at the cleaners to be sure. When I picked them up, I didn't try them on. I did not wear the first pair until a few days later. I thought they still felt loose so I inspected the hook closure. It was the same as when I dropped it off. I went back to the cleaners and the alteration lady said she took it out from the waist band. That still didn't explain why they were still loose after the lady had measured me herself! So I went home thinking I was a dummy. The next time I wore the pants to work, I asked a friend to look at the waist band to see if I was crazy because it didn't look or feel like they had changed anything. My friend, who know more sewing than me, said they had not changed anything because the original stitching had not been touched (as I suspected)! So not only did they not fix my pants, but the lady lied about it and they have my money! I wish I had read the previous reviews before I went there. What a bunch of crooks! read more

It's called UST cleaners and they just screwed up and destroyed my blanket. They told me that it wasn't their fault and it was "bad luck" and that it was my fault. They offered to pay 1/4 of the price or go to court. Talk about customer service right? DO NOT GO THERE! read more

The people at the counter were hard to understand and were incredibly rude. I immediately regretted my choice of cleaners, and my first visit became my last. If you live in Haymarket, I recommend Expert Cleaners: they are just down the street, and much more pleasant to do business with. read more

This place is also called UST Cleaners. We used them for 3 years until last week. I dropped off a set of linen drapes. The lady at the front desk said they should be dry cleaned instead of a cold wash. When I picked up my drapes, they had shrunk 5 inches. Front desk lady, who indicated she was the owner but would not provide her name, refused to refund the $58 cleaning charge. She said, "No refund" and kept telling me to bring the curtains back so they could dry clean them again and "stretch them longer". That solution was not acceptable after already shrinking the drapes. We are no longer customers of this establishment for dry cleaning or shirts. read more

I absolutely LOVE this dry cleaners! The couple that runs this business are always professional, thorough, and accommodating. I have never had a single issue or problem with any of the services provided! I am saddened that Neal E. and Lain B. had such bad experiences.....however, that is NOT the norm at this business. I have resided in northern VA for almost two years and am thrilled that I have been afforded the opportunity to get to know the owners and to experience nothing but PERFECTION!!!! Lain B. didn't have to use profanity to express himself....and that unfortunately detracts from his posting since I am inclined not to appreciate an opinion of someone who can't control their vulgarity......:( None the less....I am sure there are other dry cleaners that will fit "his" needs but as for me....I am a totally loyal customer and have tried others in town, including Expert Cleaners, but THIS IS THE PLACE to get your dry cleaning, alterations, patches, etc done!!!! read more

BEWARE!!! I would have given no stars if it were an option. My boyfriend dropped my expensive handbag off at this cleaners when the zipper needed to be fixed. It wasn't ready when they promised, and when we went to pick it up The zipper was cheap, did not match the other zippers and hardware on the purse and the stitching was HORRIBLE! A child could have done better! When I asked about all of these issues and where the original zipper was the woman there told me that was the zipper that was on the purse originally. After we went back and forth about it she opened the bag and found the original zipper inside. DISHONEST!!! They also detached and damaged the leather shoulder strap and some how twisted it and re-attached it that way! My bag was mangled! When I asked for an owner I was told the owner was no longer in the country! When I asked for the acting individual in charge I was told there was no one and they could give me no information! There are so many other things I could write, but this is getting to be very long- THEY ARE COMPLETELY DISHONEST AND INCOMPETENT! BEWARE!!!!! read more
