Had a smooth, professional pre-listing home inspection with Chris Armstrong. Appreciated that Chris wore covers on his shoes when walking through the home. He was very thorough with his inspection of every room. Carole was also lovely to speak with, and she made the scheduling process very easy. I appreciate how streamlined the entire end to end process was in terms of signing the agreement and conducting the payment online. Chris showed up at our home promptly two minutes before we were scheduled (9am), and it took the expected amount of time. He was done by 12pm and then took time to walk us through the main things he discovered. The price was $544 for the inspection which I do think was reasonable especially given the amount of time and attention to detail in the report. If I could give it lower I would. Terrible inspection missed numerous expensive problems. They charge a second time when coming out to confirm items were repaired and some of them were not actually repaired such as a gas leak! But they marked it as having been repaired. We moved in thinking everything was ok only to find that we still had a gas leak, have rodents in our attic, pool pump engine that was not working, almost all window's broken, stove not working, etc. We called them several times expressing our dissatisfaction, they refused to accept any responsibility, or refund any of the money we paid for 2 inspections. With all the water intrusion from the last storm we found ourselves worried about damage, mold or any other unseen issues. We reached to Hope Home inspections and at the beginning the office was a little confusing and it took a little clarifying on their services but we proceeded to go forward with them and I'm glad we did. Their tech Connor was very polite, professional and took his time explaining everything in detail which made me feel a lot better, he was very thorough with his inspection and was very knowledgeable about the structure, construction and everything related to our issues. Needed a last minute 4 point inspection for switching Homeowner Insurance. Contacted them on a Thursday afternoon, and they squeezed us in on Friday morning & PROMISED we would have the report before the end of day on Friday to be able to have our new coverage bound. Inspector Greg called when he was in route, advising he could be there 30 minutes early, acknowledging we needed the report the same day. Showed up as promised....early, completed the report, and had it to my insurance broker before 2 PM!!!!! Outstanding service!! He also advised about Oak leaves on the roof being very acidic & advised to remove them frequently to extend the life of our shingles. I would share my experience with Hope, we actually had quite a few issues that were missed by the inspector for example: 8 windows were not locking properly, bathroom sink was leaking, sliding door not opening properly. All that I found myself without any construction experience. Buildt a new home in Palmetto FL. We got the name of the company from a resident in the area. She was very satisfied with the service so we thought we would use them. The company employees couldn't have been nicer. From the office staff to the inspector who checked out our home. They not only noted problems that needed addressing, they also noted for our records cosmetic shortfalls from the builder. Some were minor but others were more important. The inspector who checked the home tested everything from each outlet, to water temperature, to climbing in attic in the Florida heat. He was amazing. We paid for a 4-Point inspection and a wind mitigation. The inspector called when he was already 10 minutes late to tell us he was going to be 30 minutes late. Once the inspector was ready to leave my husband asked him if everything was okay, the only thing the inspector said was that we had a double tap in our electrical panel Which was corrected the same day. It wasn't until we received his inspection did we realize that he didn't complete the wind mitigation even though he was in our attic for 20 minutes. Wondering what he was going up there?!? After leaving many text messages we had to call the office to have his manager to call us back. Once the manager called we were told they DON'T DO WIND MITIGATION ON HOUSES WITH FOAM INSULATION!! They refusing to give us a refund for the incomplete wind mitigation. PLEASE BE CAREFUL WHEN HIRING HOPE HOME INSPECTIONS. We had a wind mitigation in 2013, the foam was no issue then and we just had another company come out today and again the foam was no issue. read more

I contacted HHI for a second opinion on my wind mitigation report, since I didn't agree with my insurance one. Sucked having to pay for it twice but luckily HHI was very fair with their pricing. The insurance companies mitigation missed the hurricane clips that were also in my building plans. Needless to say HHI's mitigation report matched more of what I was expecting, now waiting to hear back from my insurance. They were prompt with getting me scheduled, and very courteous people.
