They find things wrong with the house that were actually corrected when pointed out by another more reliable home inspection company. I think their objective is to get paid for an inspection and then to move on to another home to do the same thing all over again. They certainly can kill a sale for no good reason. When confronted, they were extremely rude, calling me (in writing) names that no professional company would think about doing. Beware of this company. Find a more professional one. My real estate agent recommended Marquette Inspections on the purchase of our home while we were out of town. She was there during the inspection. Zach wrote a very neat, detailed comprehensive report complete with photos. Small issues were exposed and addressed. For our home owners insurance, we decided to get a wind mitigation report too. Marquette's price was highly competitive, only $75. Zach returned, climbed in the attic to inspect the construction of the roof looking for the metal straps on truss and rafters. With the never ending threat of hurricanes, I decided to fully protect our new home with motorized Hurricane screens in the lanai and aluminum bifold doors for the front entrance. For the windows, after researching, I learned that the clear lexan / polycarbonate panels were the best. The Clopay garage door was already reinforced with heavy struts on each panel which brought them up to code for hurricane force winds. After completion of protecting every opening in our home, I contacted Marquette Inspections to return and do another Wind Mitigation Test. Their office staff is so friendly and polite, they offered a date that worked for me. Zach was back and right on time. He didn't take long because he only needed to see the upgrades and take a few shots. Later that day the bill came over via email and it was reduced to only $50 because it's an updated report. The next day the complete report was ready to go. Just what I needed for my home owners insurance company to review so they can offer me a discount credit. Marquette Inspection was recommended by both our realtor at Dwell Real Estate and our closing attorney. Given how crazy the real estate market is here we felt lucky to be able to schedule them to inspect a home we put a purchase offer on. Zach Marquette personally conducted the inspection. We expected it to be routine but, unfortunately, it was anything but. Mr. Marquette found some really challenging deficiencies in the house. Thank goodness he caught them. He explained them in depth on site to both our realtor and the seller's agent. Within 24 hours he followed up with a very comprehensive written analysis/report with photographs of leaks, mold issues, code issues and other major and minor repair needs. I have to be fair, my ratings comes after 2 home inspection, the first inspection was on 9-29-21at a property oldham st sarasota, Zach was there on time, he did find about a dozen water leaks, and a water leak on front of home, he checked the sprinklers found one not working, I didn't buy this house, the roof needed replacing, Zach came recommend by Kristine neuhaus from michael saunders who was my agent.. The second home inspection was at 5115 glade fern ct, Zach was 1/2 hour late for the appt. He seemed to rush through this inspection, He found a few loose cement roof shingles, and estimated the repair to be a few hundred dollars,He found a water leak around a vent pipe, but structural the house was fine, He might have been not as stringent, since the buyer and seller were both represented by Michael saunders. I got an estimate from Yoder roofing for $2150 not a couple of hundred dollars,I told zach the air handler, didn't look good, and asked him if he checked it for leaks, he replied I don't do that you have to get a a/c guy for that. When I receive his inspection. he noted the ac/ was from 2013, and the air handler was fro 2005, which was passed it's life time, I asked when he didn't red flag that, He replied I only check for structural damage, He also missed a receptacle that was not working, since the owner had informed us of that, well he didn't check any receptacle on the outside lanai. Didn't check the irrigation system, since it was off. I also found some water damage and a pail in the attic with a towel under it, to collect the leak from the roof, I found a water leak in garage which he never reported. Every once in a while you come across a business that you can just tell is a family business...one that works together cohesively, and truly delivers. We were fortunate to be able to get an appointment with Zach from Marquette Inspections on our recent Sarasota home purchase. Zach was extremely thorough on our recent home inspection, and took the time to explain any issues he saw, provide photographs of those issues, especially the ones in difficult to get to places that I could not see (deep in the crawl space, up in the attic, Etc.) He also turned the report around very quickly, which assisted us with determining what direction to take with our home purchase, and to obtain home insurance long before 'closing.' One less thing to worry about! And, due to the Coronavirus outbreak during the middle of our escrow, I was unable to return to conduct the 'final walk-through.' Zach handled that for us as well. Too Important a Task to Leave to Marquette Being out of town buyers we relied on our Realtor's recommendation of Marquette for our Home Inspection. Big Mistake! The Inspector missed so many items that our first three months of occupancy were spent fixing (and paying to fix) obvious things like under-sink leaks, toilet bolts needing replacement and continually-running toilets, garage door opener issues, mold, sink stoppers not working, bathroom window opener crank inoperable. The insurance company would not insure the property until we replaced the water hoses to the washer--before we even moved in! A total waste of money paid to Marquette because they cost us a small fortune due to their sloppy inspection. read more

Rip off. Agreed to charge $425 for inspection, then charged another $75 for a 4 point report which should be included since it's a smaller version of the whole inspection. Charged another $75 for another report i needed. I don't recommend this inspection company. Go somewhere else. read more

I hired them for Wind Mitigation Inspection. In my opinion, they did sloppy job writing up report. My home has metal roof replaced in 2005, they stated in their report in was shingled installed in 1993. When I asked for correction, they asked me to provide proof. I provided historical aerials, which they said was not good enough. Overall, I felt the company was more interested in protecting their inspector's original analysis then correcting even the obvious errors. I don't typically write reviews, but this company really had my blood boiling. Off to hire another inspector, that will hopefully provide a more accurate report. read more

I went to them because they were highly recommended and didn't mind paying more because I was buying an older home. They missed two plumbing leaks, $2500 in electrical work I needed to get done, and list goes on. I will say the people are very nice and do partially take the blame for putting to much trust in someone else. Lesson learned ! read more

Had them inspect our town house for our closing. They totally missed the front door was hung my some butcher with it being totally crooked and used indoor hinges for where they should have used outdoor hinges. So not only is the door crooked and jams but after just a few months the hinges are totally rusted. But the biggest problem is these hinges have pins that are easily popped out leaving the place open to theft. There are better inspectors out there. read more

Incomplete work! I paid extra for pool check but they didn't bring as much as a brush to clean algae from bottom of pool to see if it was ok. Unable to check for pool leaks--told me to hire a pool expert! Didn't check things like utility sink--had stuff stored in it! (I would have been glad to move the few items out of sink if it was above his pay grade)! Inspected only a part of the roof from attic--insulation blocked the view. (What attic doesn't have insulation)? Couldn't check shower pan because drain cover was loose. Didn't address cracked floor tile in report. This is clearly not "cosmetic" and needed to be addressed. Never addressed second bathroom--no idea if it was checked. Don't know if he checked either toilet. Didn't check ac--said house seemed cool enough (it was not a hot day). Almost every item was glossed over and I was told to hire an expert or ask the deceased owner!! I would stay far away from this company, or be prepared to waste your money! read more
