What an amazing opportunity she (we) has had; and my husband and I have felt supported along the way with parent-teacher conferences, thorough daily electronic communication, and parent panel meetings. The faculty is clean, has true Montessori learning tools, and highly educated and certified teachers. The preschool's administration is attentive to the teachers and family's needs, creating harmonious relationships. Our daughter is exceeding in all areas of her development, reading and journaling at 5 years old. WFM's curriculum and faculty have are absolutely amazing. She is often the first to be greeting families each day at the door and does SO much we could never even imagine behind the scenes too. Our child often comments about Debi and her involvement in their school day - I'm amazed by this. Additionally, all the teachers and staff here are extremely well qualified, understanding (they are all parents too), warm and truly enjoy being with kids. Our child entered preK for the first time in January and within weeks (if not days) had learned so much. She went from no school experience to confident on her way to learning all the expected preK skills and more! She was writing her name, making and identifying her letters, counting and identifying her numbers, and so much more. They made school so fun with tons of meaningful and themed art projects, creative play, experiments and lots more. They had opened an extra afternoon class and we got lucky to be able to join mid year. We were also lucky enough to have a fabulous teacher, Cynthia, with decades of experience... she made our child's first learning experience one that every parent dreams. Our expectations were completely surpassed. I love that they are so flexible with the number of days you attend as well. I wasn't ready to send my child more than 2 days to start (even though she was begging to go each day and couldn't stop talking about her amazing new school!) Within less than a day, the director Debi, every teacher, and all the staff knew my child's name and welcomed her with full hearts. Our 2 children were enrolled full time at Goddard for 14 months before the owner suggested we move…read moreon due to lack of trust in April. We can certainly attest that the director, Ms. Dee, is incredibly hardworking and kind and she always put a great effort towards running a tight ship. We received an email from the owner saying that Goddard was cited for running over ratios (look up reports for any preschool on https://ncchildcare.ncdhhs.gov/childcaresearch ). When we replied expressing our discomfort with how the situation was handled, she suggested that we move on since we no longer trust her. It totally blind sighted us because we had previously had a positive relationship. It felt like we were just another number and she's going to move on to the next name in her wait list. We are happy this happened because it gave us an opportunity to compare with other centers. We didn't like that kids were given iPads at Goddard and were happy to find that is not the case elsewhere. Several centers provided meals (Goddard does not) and had more opportunities for water play and sports exposure (soccer lessons, basketball lessons, basketball court, splash pad area). We also weren't thrilled that lessons were shown at Goddard on a small computer screen with kids gathered around. There are plenty of happy parents at Goddard. We were pleased with Goddard at first and have met wonderful teachers. We didn't appreciate how the owner treated us and are happy to have found alternatives that a better fit for our needs.
