It was a cute "sometimes cottage core" "sometimes hunting retreat" one room honey and associated product boutique shop. We rang the "Ring" doorbell to summon our "Honey Guide". He quickly retrieved our honey selection from a temperature controlled setting. (It was still warm). Don't be fooled by this rustic feel the transaction was professional, quick and conveniently they are equip to take an array of payment options. We paid cash though. With over 900 hives on site this is a great place to find VA local collected honey. We happily took our locally collected honey home to sweeten our tea and calm our Virginia allergies. They show you a pic of a 6lb container for the 3lb order which is deceiving. The 3lb container that you receive is much smaller. There is locally made soaps, lotions, room sprays, candles, and of course honey (whipped, flavored). There are also bee inspired dish towels, decorative pillows, etc. The owner has a selection of honey sticks, about 15 or so different flavors. So far, I've tried the mango, cherry, orange blossom and the lemon. All of them are really good. The flavors are prominent, but not in your face. It's a good little bit of sweetness if you're ever craving a honey stick. I really love all things bee inspired and really had to restrain myself from buying everything. The observation hive is pretty neat and should definitely be checked out. We tried to find the queen bee amongst all her workers, but weren't lucky. The owner, Felecia Chavez, is an interesting woman. Besides being knowledgeable about bees and her products, she's got good stories too. My Grandchildren loved every minute we were there. They have multiple gardens to pick your own vegetables, fruit, and fresh flowers. We had so much fun we went back two day later and we will go many more times to come. The service is beyond excellent. The person who greeted us and waited on us as we paid for items available on the farm was very friendly and a wealth of information regarding the farm.
