Used to love this place. The store has moved across the parking lot into a smaller spot. A lot of the great stuff is gone / the selections is much much smaller and items were worn out or dated. Most items were $15 or $10. There was a $1 rack outside. They had a big selection of Chicos so if that's your thing - check it out. This is an Amazing resale shop. It is clean, organized, and very nicely priced. It's very easy to find based on sizes, selection of piece and price. I care for my M.i.l. Who is in a care home. She has been gaining weight and I need to shop for her. There are name brands in one section, a regular priced section, and a clearance section If you need help with anything at all the service is always available. There's always a couple of very friendly employees who are somewhere in the store but readily available if you need help. There are many things to choose from besides great clothes, shoes & purses They also have housewares, decorative items, and much more. They even have a rewards program for frequent customers. This was once such a darling place to donate and shop. The place has changed in the past 14 months, seems like some donations are set aside and sold online via eBay or another entity. One of the saff person said donations are down and from hearing the staff talk, they are not interested in taking donations. This is an excellent place to buy gently used clothing. The best part of it is it helps battered women. Helping them recover and start a new life. They are constantly getting in great, even sometimes expensive clothing that no other thrift store would have for great prices. I have yet to find any of the thrift store that their main goal and purpose is to help someone or some thing Great job Hopes Door Unfortunately yes as the last girl stated in her review the fitting rooms are closed with the new COVID outbreak. What I do? To try shirt on I put it over the shirt I already have on. To try pants on I put them over the shorts or pants I already have on. I love this store i have shopped here for many years and i have found GREAT stuff here....BUT: they are STILL not allowing the use of the fitting rooms. With no returns (its thrift, i get it) that makes it pretty difficult to buy clothing. But the MOST irritating thing is everytime i come in here lately the staff wants to close abt 15 minutes early. And yes they do come tell me we r closing the register!!...pushing me out. Its just plain rude. Im not asking anyone to stay late, just keep the hours posted in the door. read more

A year ago and for the past twenty years, I would have given Hope's Door ten stars. Their purpose is admirable, and their selection of clothing, decor, and household goods are typically all one could ask for. However, lately, their prices have risen to a point that makes me wonder whether they are indeed still a thrift shop or fancy themselves an antique store. I have been shopping here since it was a tiny room in the Kroger strip across the street, and the changes management has made up to now have been good. I am sorry the new pricing has encouraged me to shop elsewhere, but it's just not as fun to go there anymore. Bargain hunting is no longer possible. read more

Manager did not want to refund money on items that where on racks that said$5 I was charged a 'name brand ' price. $12.99 and $7.99. She went as far as to turn her back on me and talk to a man and said I quote her" its only$6.50". Yes but should have been$2.50. Poor customer service at its finest! She stated we don't offer refunds. Well I had just walked out their door. They need to say out loud what the prices are not Mummble the price to the other employee! This is the second time I have had issues here. I drive 40 miles to go here with my friend. 2 out of 3 times have been bad experiences. read more

I have become addicted to this resale store! It is clean & they run sales constantly. Did I mention the name brand clothing they offer at VERY reasonable prices? I use to love this place before it moved to the new location. The women staff are rude never greet you, always feel as if I am inconveniencing them. The manager always seems to have persistent scowl on her face. The prices have become ridiculously high, e.g. pots and pans $20 which I can get brand new at TJMAXX. Now I gave the 2 stars for the guys they are WONDERFUL!!!! Pleasant always asking how you're doing really making the customer feel appreciated. If they ever change management I might give them a second chance, but for now I am saving my hard earned money elsewhere. read more

I feel I need to caution donating to this organization. I donated, received a carbon copy receipt the organization's representative filled out, then come tax time, the organization refused to honor the donation receipt THEY provided and have the original copy of. This says everything to me regarding this organization. The statement on the website that they care about their donors, is clearly extremely misleading in my opinion. read more

UPDATE: I realized that I had actually also been charged for a necklace I didn't buy. I called to tell them the multiple things that affected my poor first experience there. The person who checked me out is, apparently, the manager. So, she got on the phone and she said I could come back (a 20 minute drive, one way) to redo the entire order. She said, 'We don't usually do refunds or exchanges, but I'll do that for you," as though it was charitable - but only if I went back today. I asked, "You don't normally give people their money back when you charge them for things they didn't buy?" She said, "I can give you $3. Necklaces are $8, so 40% off, they're $3." Well, first off, that's not right. But, they were 30% off. So, actually they were $5.60. She responded, "I can literally just give you $5 out of my pocket right now." I said, "I don't want $5 out of your pocket. I want to be treated fairly by the store." She then told me I WAS treated fairly. I repeated the situation (where I clearly was not), and noted that she was rude toward the end. She said she has NEVER been called rude, and that she's not 'known for that.' I said, "I didn't say you were KNOWN for it. I said you were rude to me at the end. Do you honestly not think so?" She said, "No, I don't. Have a good day," and hung up. The thing that really sucks about this is that every single thing I purchased there is now associated with her behavior. So, I basically spent $150 on things that I can't really like anymore. End of update. I would have probably left a good review. The lady who was working when I first got there was nice. The prices are high for a thrift store; but it's a good cause, so ok. I spent almost $150, and then the next person in line was asked if she was a teacher, a veteran, or something else. I said, "Wait, I'm a teacher." (I had not been asked.) The employee responded, "what?" In a "why didn't you tell me" way, not it a didn't hear me way. And then handed me my bags. I asked what I was supposed to receive, and she said 15% off on Mondays. Then she said, "sorry." No offer of anything at all. "Home goods" was on sale, which turned out to be separate from housewares. When I asked what was on sale, she listed them, then said, "basically everything but tops and bottoms." My belief that home goods was included was well founded. So, I had purchased multiple things that I wouldn't have if I'd realized they were not on sale, and then I didn't even get the discount I should have gotten. I paid cash, so it seems like giving me the money back would have been easy enough. She could have offered a gift card, or free items, something. But, no. Just "sorry." read more

The new manager is implementing changes that just don't make resale store sense - like running pants for $1.99 for 4 Mondays in a row or charging $3.99 for a product you can buy anytime for 79 cents. This is by far my favorite thrift store in Plano. All proceeds benefit the Hope's Door domestic violence shelter, and the staff are all volunteers, so already I feel good spending money here. I'm always pleased with the quality of clothing that they have, and the prices are typically low with frequent sales. I recommend signing up for their mailing list, and they'll email you once a week with what sales are about to start. Also they have enough changing rooms that I've never seen them all full at once, and they're curtains instead of doors so you don't have to bug an employee to unlock it every time you want to try something on. read more

This location is actually a resale store that benefits Hope's Door. It is my favorite resale store. They have great prices and often have great things that are half off. I can't even count how many great things I've gotten here. It is still like any other thrift/resale store where there are times you can go in and not find anything and it's hard to go in expecting to finding something specific, but I have still found more things here than at any of the large thrift stores. Went here for the first time today and loved it! It's organized and clean. They have amazing prices and name brands for really cheap. I found Levi jeans, Tommy Hilfiger shirts, and other name brands.
