Lovely winery! Plenty of wine options to choose from and pizza/ light food available. We tried some white Merlot, barbera, Porto Rosso, and some Bianco. They have a variety to choose from for all tastes. We opted for some hummus, salad, the charcuterie, and pizza during our visit. Absolutely loved the Nutella pizza when it came out hot and fresh from their oven - it was the perfect way to end a day at the winery. The scenery is also beautiful! The vibe was nothing special but the wines were shockingly good for New Jersey. I had the red Rosso which I really enjoyed. The whites were also decent. We ordered the Greco pizza which was a thin crust, wood fired, brick oven small pie with Kalamata olives, tomato sauce, mozzarella and feta. We really enjoyed it. There was also live music which was fun. The only negatives were the long line inside to order the wine and food and the wait for the pizza to be brought to the table and the atmosphere. They could easily make the process simpler by putting a QR code on the tables to order instead having to walk inside for each glass of wine and more food if you wanted. The inside is kind of run down and the outside area and tables were not very inviting. read more

The way they were able to accommodate a large party of over 10 people, was pretty impressive, and the live music was a bonus! We had been having mostly red wine, so it was an awesome continuation. Haven't been here in awhile - pre covid, and things have changed. The wine is still really good - especially the reds! No bueno on the plastic cups. For me, it's all about the vessel. Unlike other wineries that may serve flights in plastic, this one doesn't provide a glass if you ask. You have to purchase for 4.00 so bring one if that's important. Cute winery in Pennington, NJ about 1.5 hours from North Jersey and close to Philadelphia. They have both indoor seating as well as outdoor seating. They also have outdoor seating under a roof which was perfect because it started to rain but we were still covered when sitting outside. We ordered 2 bottles of wine to share, the bread, and each a wood fired pizza. Everything was excellent! The packaging was impossible to open we needed a knife from the sole human who was in the place. The wine was not very good. I've visited here twice now and each time had a very loved the experience. They are one of the few vineyards that stay open late in the area with live music and fresh food coming out of the oven. They literally have a brick oven making fresh pizza! My go to's are the white Merlot if you are into sweet, the "Berbosa" prosciutto pizza, and the brownies. You can't go wrong with that combo. There is a ton of parking near the entrance. The staff is nice. The prices are some of the most reasonable of the vineyards in the are ranging from around $13-$35 for a bottle. Some of their bottles are a bit smaller than the standard wine bottle though. Overall a great option for a date night or relaxing day with good drinks and eats. read more

This vineyard is a little far from home but I'm glad I got to experience it. We came right before tasting ended, but the guy behind the bar, was kind enough to let us partake. He explained all the wines very thoroughly and was super friendly and I think that made our experience so much better. There's both an indoor and outdoor seating area. The indoors is very cozy and there was a band playing. The outdoor are would have been super cute, with the lights decorating the area, but it was a little too cold that day. We got a bottle of the cab and a pizza along with it. The cab was good, the pizza, not so much but it was fine in a pinch. read more

This is such a cute spot! The first time I visited was in the spring, and at that time it was possible to sit on the deck and watch the sun set with a lovely (and reasonably priced) glass of wine, so it was a great intro to the place. Most recently I was there for "jazzy Sunday." The band was good--not overpowering so conversation could still be heard--a nice background complement. And ever since my first visit when I saw spanakopita on the menu, I knew the owners must be Greek (bless the heavens!!) Turns out one of them is, but I have yet to meet her. An afto to diavasete, thelo na sas gnoriso! Sorry, I had to interlude in Greek. The spanakopita itself was great, but I wasn't a fan of the accompanying tzatziki. (I'd actually planned to order the pizza, but I read "thick crust," and I'm not a huge fan of that style, so we just had wine and meze.) The Chardonnay was definitely different from most...my friend liked it but I think I prefer more buttery? Either way, I like this winery whenever I'm visiting the area, so I'm sure I'll be back! **follow up note: I just found an old photo and realized we had eaten the pizza before and it was NOT thick crust! (At least not how I'd envision thick crust). A revision might be necessary for the description! read more

We were at the vineyard today for a Sangria making class. It was a wonderful time-the Neri's were so attentive, the supplies were plentiful, and the atmosphere was wonderful!! We had so much fun!! When we were done, we had a fresh made brick oven pizza and enjoyed the outside with live music!! It was a great way to celebrate our anniversary and we will definitely go back again!!! Beautiful, busy winery located not too far from Princeton. Stopped in with a friend for a tasting on Sunday afternoon. The winery was super busy inside. We took a list of their wines and checked off what we wanted to try. We waited for a bit to get a spot by the bar and were greeted right away. Their tasting is $6 for 6 pours. The pours were super, super small. They do not allow outside food here because they sell their own food here. When we arrived there was live music which was nice. The outdoor seating area was beautiful but it was cold and rainy when we came so we couldn't enjoy it. They host private events here, as well as special events for the public. Overall we had a great visit and I may check them out again in the warmer weather. read more

Tried another door in the rain that seems to be the entrance. I stood at the bar and no one greeted me until I said something, then shared I was never there and nothing was shared with me to help make a decision. You receive your wine in a plastic cup, unless you do a tasting, which I didn't even know was an option. The pizza was good, but the service left me disappointed so I left after I was done the pizza. What a treasure this vineyard is. I was in town from Indiana for a show, and had a delightful time. I'm not much of a wine drinker, but the white merlot is amazing! I just wish I would have had checked luggage so I could bring some home. I wish they could ship to Indiana! The pizza was fantastic too! We went to a wine tasting event here to use our Living Social Deal. I never knew New Jersey had such a lovely vineyard! The drive here from New Brunswick was scenic and beautiful, hard to believe we were still in NJ! We were promptly seated for our wine tasting. We sampled some white and red wines that were grown and made on the vineyards. My favorite was the last one, a sparking sweet red wine. (I forgot the name, but I bought a bottle.) The owner Violetta was knowledgable and hospitable. After the wine tasting, we took a little tour of the vineyard to see the wine vats and the shop. They have small concerts in a larger hall adjacent to the shop. And the vineyards are well maintained and green. We even got to take our wine glasses home! This place was a PERFECT Sunday afternoon date. It would also make a great place for celebrating a special event, shower, or just any occasion. This isn't Nappa Valley; it's New Jersey. First time here - enjoying some wine before dinner at Blue Bottle Cafe. I have to admit, I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the wine (it was so good that four of us finished a bottle and then ordered 3 additional glasses. The tasting room is quite nice with the central focus being the tasting bar which is in front to the wood fired pizza oven. The pizzas must have been good judging by the number being prepared and served. We enjoyed the entertainment that evening which consisted of a very good singer - concentrating on Bob Dylan pieces, including the harmonica. Definitely will return. read more

Came here on a Saturday afternoon with my fiancé and another couple. There is plenty of socially distant seating, but most tables were occupied; luckily we were able to find a table relatively quickly. There is no hostess that seats you and I don't believe they sanitize the tables in between guests. The line inside to order wine/food was pretty long and they seemed to be a bit understaffed. Grabbed bottle of Chardonnay, Pinot Grigio, sweet merlot, and the stony brook blush and wasn't overly impressed by any of them. Pros: live music, umbrellas over a majority of the tables, plenty of parking, and the pizza looked good, although I didn't try it. read more

Wine tasting is a fabulous way to warm up a frigid Sunday afternoon in Jersey. Since it is the middle of Polar Vortex in NJ in January, I was not surprised that the outside looked barren, but once inside the room is warm, filled from wall to wall with wine cases and endless awarded medals. We decided to have the 9 wine tasting for $10 and had a magnificent sommelier teach us about the wine. The gentleman talked to us about tones and carefully chose our tasting order. We were having such a good conversation with him and the two ladies next to us, that I'm pretty sure we were well over our 9 tastings! Which then of course meant more purchasing for me! My favorite wine overall was the sparkling wine - Spuma Rossa. After warming up with the wine we were even allowed a tour of the cellar where they keep the wine aging, which I thought was super cool. This is an excellent place to impress a date without being too fancy. I am bummed we did not know of the live music, brick oven and overall fun that takes place here at night before our tasting. It looks like this is a great place where local bands showcase their talent and you can enjoy a small indoor concert with friends. Overall this is definitely a place where we would return. Wines ranged from $12 - $25 a bottle, so a little more than other places in area, but for the great customer service, it is worth the drive. read more

My small circle of good friends venture onwards to our second New Jersey vineyard tour at Hopewell Valley Vineyards, which surely brings life from "From Crisis to Triumph" Exodus (13:17-14:31). There are ample outdoor seating with shades under large umbrellas where my small party of four enjoyed our meal with Brie cheese and other munchies. With excellent company in the presence of good friends we had the pleasure of Hopewell's wine barrel tour which is included in the $6.00 tasting. This same $6.00 tasting enables wine connoisseurs to go further with their dollar especially in today's ailing economy of "permanent decline" noted by Huffington Post to keep their tasting glasses. Staff fully exercise their wine knowledge and visibly hone their interpersonal skills to demonstrate quality customer service. Personally, I enjoyed the Sangiovese 2008 for it harness a nice fruity and light acidic flair without overpowering too citrus. The Vidal Blanc was very enjoyable to be sweet for the light and very airy crisp. My favorite was the Spuma Rossa Red Sparkling Wine which makes a delightfully seductive sweet dessert for two of a happy ending to close the night. The tasting menu is fully detailed with notes, wine names with corresponding year thus there are no secrets as Hopewell is very upfront and direct. We gathered approximately 10 health care workers who have been through a lot during covid in past year. We were celebrating the life of one of our coworker's mothers who's passed away from breast cancerand the struggles that have brought us closer as friend to support each other. We all dressed in pink, we paid for a professional set up and for a photographer. The wine tasting and the staff were absolutely amazing. At the end of the day we decided to move on to the deck because our setup was in the direct sunlight. The staff told us that was fine and continued to provide us with service that was amazing. Approximately 4:45 p.m. a gentleman had approached us and let us know that they had a private party coming to this area.. I asked him when did we need to leave or relocate and he said by 545. I told him we would be off would be off the deck by 5 o'clock. At approximately 4:55 p.m the owner of the winery came out to our party aggressively yelling telling us that we had been told 5 × to relocate.. Her demeanor and attitude was outrageous. We had spent so much money between booking that location and then buying copious amounts of wine and food after our tasting was done . We felt thrown to the side . She was so rude that it almost ruined our entire day. I would not recommend going to that location unless you know that the owner would not be there. Their staff seemed so helpful, smart and compassionate to our cause. The owner lacked the professionalism of a person who ever wanted to see patrons back at their establishment. Hopewell is one of my favorite wineries in the central jersey/Princeton area. They have plenty of seating and most of all, pizza! to go with the wine. It always turns out to be a big friends gathering when we visit. The staffs are generally nice and welcoming so we never had issues such as requesting for extra wine glasses. We usually see private parties hosted in the other room where the tanks are. They have outdoor seating where you can bring your dogs. My friends and I usually just skip the tasting and order a couple of bottles to share. Being a big fan of red wines, their cabernet sauvignon is my very favorite. It comes with depth but easy to drink, just perfect when pairing with cheese or pizza. The prices of their wines average around $25-35, not too shabby for decent quality wines. read more
