What a fun experience my husband and I had on a Saturday afternoon celebrating a weekend get away. The two guys that helped us were top notch. They explained everything in detail to us. We were allowed to bring food and champagne on board. We rented and paid for two hours to drive around the canals enjoying the homes and boats/yachts. We went over the time limit a little but they did not charge us for being 10 minutes late. Thank you. I highly recommend Hopper Boat Rentals for a very fun time. read more

Hopper Boat Rentals is a great place to rent in the Channel Island Harbor. They have a variety of water activities at a very reasonable price. I called about a week in advance to make a reservation for an electric boat. Upon arriving, the check in process was smooth and the staff was friendly. We were on the boat in no time. Riding around the marina in the boat was fantastic and overall it was a great time. If you're in the area and need water rentals definitely check them out. read more

We rented a small Duffy from Hopper Boat Rentals in Oxnard, and had a wonderful time! The whole process was smooth and easy from start to finish. The staff provided great service and made sure everything was ready to go. The boat was really easy to drive, even for beginners. OK, this place is GREAT for rentals! We called last minute, a couple hours before, and they were able to accommodate our reservation. I knew it was a Holiday weekend so it might be tough but they definitely made it happen. The staff was great, they explained everything we needed and were just THE BEST. read more

What a great way to get out and see the Harbor! We made reservations for a Sunday afternoon and upon arrival, we were instantly taken care of. Life jackets for the littles, and a quick tutorial for driving the boat and we were off! We cruised the Oxnard Harbor for an hour. The cost was $75 (up to 8) per hour. An hour went quick and next time we would go for 2 hours. Lots to see while cruising along. Our kids loved seeing the seals and waving to boats. Nothing like a nice day on the water. Hopper's staff were friendly and helpful. Would definitely recommend and will be back to explore more of the harbor. read more

We took the big electric boat out on our last vacation, and it was so much fun! My gf booked the reservation and paid for it online via phone. Such a relaxing time with multiple families fitting on one boat! The kids all got life jackets and we got the two hour journey. Rented a small electric boat for a group of 7 girls. Service was friendly from beginning to end. We were allowed to bring alcohol on our boat and they even loaned us a small speaker so we could play music. Good prices and we were able to ride around the Seabridge Marina. 3 months of non stop work; " Will I have a career after this"? I have been working non stop and the only happiness outside of my apt and gallery is officially Hopper. Today was the first time in 3 months I left to have a 'good time'. Thank you to ARBI on yelp to give me heads up Ventura county opened up. This place has always (for 13 years) been a home away from home for me. Everyone was so nice upon our arrival; they always are. They didn't skip a beat with their hospitality. We had a great afternoon in the Channel Islands Harbor, tooting around in our rented electric boat. It was a great deal. We brought a bbq lunch on board with us. We were also allowed to bring alcohol and a dog if we wanted to! We had such a great time we wanted to rent it for another hour, but their schedule was booked. The boat was very easy to drive and the friendly staff gave us detailed directions and a map for our journey. We had a fabulous time and were already planning our next trip. read more

A friend of ours rented one of the electric boats here at Hopper Boat Rentals for his dogs 7th birthday party. Four adults and 5 canines boarded the boat with snacks and drinks hoping for a good time and boy did we have a blast! The boat was quiet and smooth running and the dogs adjusted quickly to being out on the water and settled right in as if they'd been boat dogs all of their lives. If you are looking for something fun and relaxing to do on the harbor with friends or furry friends I highly recommend! My dogs gave it two paws up! We went for an early boat ride with the family and grandkids, and the one hour ride was perfect. We picked up snacks at the donut shop around the corner (Spudnuts) and enjoyed them during the ride. Hopper was AWESOME!!! We rented a motor boat and they allowed us to take our year old german shepherd Nobu with us. Nobu LOVED it. Love this Family owned business! We rented a paddle boat for a reasonable rate of $25 per hour. Even with just 1 hour , we were able to peddle around most of the channel island harbor. Staff was very nice and helpful. We were allowed to bring food and drinks on board. perfect date on a sunny day. Views were amazing and peaceful. My family and I went this past weekend, we had a wonderful experience:would recommend to others. We rented a boat for only an hour which was perfect for us since we were traveling with a toddler whom fell asleep after 45 minutes. Beautiful views, serene, chill, exactly what we wanted. Suggestion There were many people down by the docks, too many, too close to each other. Yes the Covid-19 signs are there (thanks) but it doesn't do any good if we all have to meet by the small cramped location on the docs to sign in. I would recommend having people sign in and wait to be called at the location above, before you start walking down to the docks. Nothing against the workers or the company, I think you guys were great but people are idiots, masks half on, not on, kids walking everywhere. If you as a company can change the sign in location it would keep the people following the rules away from the idiots (excluding the kids of course). Thanks Just a suggestion 5 Stars read more

Hopper Boat Rentals has been an established business at the Channel Islands Harbor for over 15-years and as of April 2019 the business is now under new ownership. The new owners both grew up in Oxnard and are very excited to be part of the Channel Islands Harbor community. And I will say that the entire staff was friendly and accommodating. They were doing their best to get people out on the water, docked back in, & all that. They were just swamped with people. I don't know if I would say they were understaffed as there's just limited doc space that more employees running around would just cause more issues. I just want to call that out. Be patient. They really are doing their best to get people out & enjoying themselves.

We got super lucky with the weather and both sailings went smoothly. Island Packers staff members were friendly and knowledgeable about the channel and islands. We also got to see so much marine life! Both days we spotted humpback whales, which the staff were quick to point out. We also got to see two massive pods of common dolphins! This was such a cool experience, especially since they love to play in the boat wake. Overall, Island Packers provided a seamless, well-organized experience.

First day I took this ferry out from Ventura Harbor to the Santa Cruz Island and it was about 90 minutes and we got to see plenty of dolphins and whales. And if wildlife is spotted, they make it a point to stop so we can watch the animals up close! Note that day trippers and campers are all packed onto this ferry. Second day, I took the ferry from Ventura Harbor to Santa Rosa Island and the ride out was 3 hours, so plan for that. Again, we saw quite a lot of wildlife. We also on the way back, got a really nice look at the Painted Cave. Third day, I took the ferry from Oxnard Harbor to Anacapa Island and it was about an hour. This was a much smaller ferry, limited selection in their galley. Again, saw plenty of wildlife and got a nice video of a humpback whale. All 3 experiences were excellent and would use them again. Note that ferry ticket isn't cheap, so plan for that. Also not the different harbors that have ferries out, lots of options. I would definitely use them again next time I return!

We enjoyed the sail over to the island where we anchored and had a delicious Mediterranean style lunch. We got to see a lot of Sea Lions, a few dolphins, and a huge Mola Mola Sunfish. My future daughter-in-law took her turn at the wheel and really enjoyed being able to do that! We had some pretty big waves on the sail back to the harbor but Captain Dan's and Dennis's sailing expertise navigated us back to the harbor safely. We highly recommend sailing with Sail Channel Islands
