This place needs to decide what they are before they can improve on anything. It's a Bar, of course. That's there claim to fame, with 66 beers on tap. But they are trying to be more. If you serve food, you need to pay attention to that. Frog legs are very good (little too much garlic, but that's my taste). Burgers are a little less than "Meh". Steak? Avoid at all cost. They should just remove it from the menu. The biggest complaint with the food service, and this is on multiple occasion of going here with friends, is the kitchen is slow as frozen molasses. The other Negative reviews from Cindy T, Jon S, and Jeremy M, are spot on. The Music? Very Loud. TV's, a typical stable of any bar, but having the Soap Opera channel playing on one of them? I am a non-drinker and end up always being the DD, so I expect my soda to taste like soda, not so weird mix of sugar and medicine. A simple note to not just Hoppers but any bar; Those hoses should be flushed out occasionally. I will give them props for not charging for non-alcoholic drinks for the DD. FINALLY; Is this system of keeping bar tabs of theirs. It's almost mandatory, it's like they would prefer it over paying cash as you go. So there is a security issue of all these credit cards just laid out behind the bar in arms reach of anyone who wanted to grab a couple. The biggest problem is when you are ready to go, you're not going for another ten minutes waiting for them to get you tab. I think they have a single credit card machine so all the servers are waiting inline to use it. If you watch them it's just so disorganized that would lead me to believe that they may of added someone else's drink on your tab or vice versa. So after being in the area for 2yrs and been to every new restaurant and bar in the area this is still the best place to be. I'm from a big city and been to many big cities and this by far is the actual "Cheers" experience. Best burgers in town hands down! The chef has great specials and drink specials are great as well. The best bar in the Lebanon/Waynesvile/Rolla/LakeOzark area hands down. Bar back was a great guy. Waitress' were always moving, cute, and knew their beers! TV's on every wall had baseball, boxing, and NBA Playoffs on. Fun music loud enough to enjoy but not loud enough to interrupt your conversation. Oh yeah, they have 66 beers on tap! It's a great place to get some beers and have a good time. We've given the food a few tries but honestly the food isn't all that great. We've tried some of the burgers and also the chicken strips. Their chicken sandwich is one of the best I've tasted pretty much anywhere, and I've been to a lot of burger joints between NY and California. I love the atmosphere of the bar and the staff is pretty cool there. Plus with 66 beers on tap you're almost always guaranteed to have a fresh glass of beer in hand. The only negative is that they don't play main event pay-per-view fights! I wish they did cause I don't really like Buffalo Wild Wings or Chicken Bones, and those are the only two places around here that actually do play pay- per-view events, that I know of. read more

Good bar with a nice atmosphere the staff is friendly and the beer selection is huge. The burgers are really good (better than your average pub). It can get a bit crowded on the evenings but there isn't very much drama that comes with it and the staff can usually keep up with the demand. All in all one of the better establishments in the area. This has to be one of the best watering holes around here. I have no clue what the rest of these people are complaining about, must be some needy folk. The service was outstanding, I may had to wait a moment for a new beer or drink but in their defense was extremely busy. The barmaids and bartenders were very pleasant. I recently visited Hoppers Pub for the first time since the end of last summer. Let's just say that i was a little disappointed. It was very smoky and fairly crowded. It's great that they have a new menu and neat new lights, but where is the fun and friendly staff that was there the last time we visited? The waitress we had at first, took a while to get over to our table and once she came, she didn't know much about the menu. She got us our first beer and didnt come back. It seemed as if we were only a bother to her. Luckily,the only waitress that we recognized from summer, recognized us and came to check on us. She took care of us and kept us happy for the rest of our visit. Our food was great. We had burgers that were a perfect size and tasted great. The owner was in and very un-friendly as usual. She was sitting with her friends in the corner and only coming from the table to yell at her staff. One would think that if she wanted to keep her business busy, she would be friendly to everyone who comes and supports her business and not only the ones who have the most money. They were doing trivia and my husband and I played. We lost of course, because they allowed teams of 15-20 people. Didn't seem fair to me, but we didnt complain. read more

I tried Hoppers recently with some new friends who live in the area who really like the place. The gals said the chicken quesadilla was excellent. I had a big burger and it was good. Hoppers is great kind of has the European feel! You can come and hang out. Staff was friendly, and they didn't make you fell rushed to leave. The only suggestion I would have make sure someone greets customers as they come in. Good has been great both time we ate there. Keep up the awesome job and changing the menu. read more

Hopper's Pub is a local favorite that I recommend to everyone from out of town. I have read through a few of the earlier posts and I strongly disagree. It appears everyone is a "critic" in their own mind. (and after watching an hour or two of the foodnetwork they feel they can sit next to Bourdain and Ramsey and pick the next rising star) I would consider myself a well versed traveler and have been at upscale bars/clubs and hotels across the country. I am sorry that this isn't the local run of the mill chain restaurant that you were expecting. Thats probably because it isn't some "cookie cutter franchise" where all of your food is pre made so that it can be brought out to you in five min or less. The burgers are well priced and huge! There are 66 beers on tap! The waitresses are always outgoing and freindly! The owners personally check on their guests! What else does a patron need? I am a strong believer that if there is a complaint or an issue it should be brought to someones attention who can fix it! So far I have read two reviews of individuals that who went to a bar that serves 66 beers and complained about his/her diet coke. (which is like complaining about your roast beef at Red Lobster LOL) and Two reviews that must have been from a former DJs (because their visit was ruined due to their song not being played) (the song probably sucked anyways :)) None-the-less Hoppers is a great place that I will continue to frequent!!! As a Local (transplant) I've been here before never thought about writing a review but felt compelled after a few recent visits. We like going for the expansive beer selection, customer service, great burgers, and the wait time usually isn't long to get food. However, my last few visits the kitchen has been slow, food quality is less than desirable, beer selection is still great but seems to be on the warm side, and service has been lackluster unless you sit at the bar. There are plenty of servers however, most are not real attentive. Recently, I ordered the classic sliders it was not what I expected, it was a well done dry regular burger patty with cheese that was cut in half and tossed on the bun. I am not sure if it depends on the day of week that you go for great service, I just know it's not the Hoppers it once was. Cold beer and customer service is paramount in the bar business and unfortunately it is not consistent. I probably wouldn't recommend this place to people visiting the area based off my last view visits. read more

Hoppers is a pub that people go to simply because either they don't know any better or because options for this type of environment are few and far between. The food, if you would ever go there for it, is second rate at best. Go ahead and try it for yourself. If you are honest about it you will know that there is better to be had out there. Most of the employees, not all, are inexperienced and rude as if they hate their life because they have to work there. The music, when there is any, is often loud and does not appeal to the majority of customers there. I have literally seen personal friends of mine leave because they couldn't take it anymore after making several requests to change it. And then there is the beer selection. If you spend over $230.00 trying each of their wide selection of beers you can have the privilege of getting your name put up on the wall of shame. Believe me when I say that half the beers on their menu are not worth your time and or money. The air handling system of this place, in my opinion, is inadequate at best. As soon as a cigarette is lit up everyone inside this place knows it. Do yourself a favor and go someplace else. For all of those who post positive comments about this place it is simply as I stated at the beginning of this review: They either don't know about any other places that are in the area or it isn't convenient for them to get there. read more
