I generally don't like to write negative reviews but decided to do it this time. This place has always had bad management, and generally, there is little interest in the true interest of the client. I have been going to the same stylist. The first time, I was charged 85/- for single-process color, and I tipped about 20/-, the next time, I had a haircut with single-process color and paid 145/- plus a tip of 25/-. Both were fair prices. Last week, my stylist charged me 160/- for single-process color, and a glaze (35/- for the glaze). I simply asked why so much, and neither the stylist nor the person swiping the credit card had the courtesy to properly answer my question. After all that, the color was not even right. I always do a dark brown and had asked for the same. She instead did a black on my hair, and I totally dislike it. I had noticed, the staff was always a bit rude, but as I liked the hair color, and had a certain sense of loyalty, I went there a couple of times. I will never go there again and do not recommend this place. It may be better to spend the time and energy to find a better salon. I also thought the services were not consistent. Like my haircut the first one was awesome. The second was bad, the third was better, but not great! Tried two stylists, and had the same experience with both. I had the same experience with hair color. The business has no interest in clients. Their only interest is in swiping the card. read more

If I can give this place a zero I would. They put color and highlights on me. The color was semi permanent, I have never gotten semi permanent color on my hair ever. She did not tell me it was semi permanent until the color was on my hair. I get to the end of my appointment and the bill is 450. I was never told the highlights were going to cost 275 this is ridiculous. I get home and the color is leaking on everything I own, my clothes, my headphones, my nails, my couch, my pillows. It was not told me that it would ruin everything I own if so you think I would have gotten it. I called the place talked to the owner who was not at all understanding coming back at me with she told you this she told you that. I asked for some not all of money back to now fix the problem I have and he wouldn't budge. Being first time clients I would think that the owner would be more professional in the way he handled things and said to make the customer happy and be able to fix the problem that he would give the money back and I didn't even ask for half of it. Because of this they have lost my business. I am appalled at the way this was all handled, not how a business should run. read more

My stylist, Evette is awesome & I would follow her absolutely anywhere, but the management in this place is incompetent and unprofessional!!!! They had a problem w/their cc processing device, and was unsure whether the charge went through on my card. I left my business card with ALL my contact info & instead of contacting me to rectify, they threatened to recoup the funds from my stylist's payroll!! When asked why they didn't make direct contact, they indicated they threw my business card away! read more

I was calling to see if I can get my hair styled for Monday (since it's my birthday) and asked about the coupons. The first time I called, I only asked about the updo. At first they wouldn't tell me the price and were trying to cut to the chase and make my appointment although I was still confused about the pricing. I called back a second time to see if I can get a blowout and asked if I can use both the student discount as well as the first time client discount and the person on the phone had the audacity to have an attitude and say "You want 40% off a haircut??" That was not only unprofessional, but insanely rude. I believe anyone would want to pay less for their purchases regardless of what it is. I would not recommend going here. Experience was so bad I cried at the salon. This was my first (and LAST) time there. I am not sure if it is the establishment or the stylist so take this review as you will. I went in for a dry cut (no shampoo or blow dry) and my hair hit the bottom of my rib cage when I went in. I gave the lady a picture and asked her to please not touch the length, I just wanted long layers since my hair was all one length. I repeated - I do not want anything off of the length after sherepeatedly asked if I was sure. She cut my hair behind me so I was not able to see the disaster until she was finished. She pushed my hair to the front - and now I have hair slightly below my collar bone. I asked her why all of my hair was gone, that I had told her to please not take anything off of the length multiple times and showed her a picture of the EXACT cut I wanted. She proceeded to say "I didn't take anything off of the length I just had to blend it up 8 inches"... I asked her how she could say that she didn't take anything off of the length and that she cut 8 inches off in the same sentence because that MAKES NO SENSE and she proceeded to tell me that if she had given me the cut in the picture it would not have looked good so she had to blend it up. The lady at the front desk came over to look at the picture and said "shes right - it wouldn't look good". (1) It took me 3 years to grow my hair out to the length I wanted (2) Never in my life have I experienced a stylist deciding that instead of giving you the cut you ask for, they will cut off 8 inches because THEY think it looks good. She didn't ask she just cut off all my hair. (3) The hair cut as atrocious as it already is - is uneven and now I have to pay to go to a difference salon so they can fix this disaster (4) Not once did the stylist apologize she just proceeded to tell me that she blended it up 8 inches and that she didn't touch the length even though 8 inches and 3 years of growth was sitting on the floor Overall a horrible experience and I hope this review spares anyone the butcher job that was done to my hair and the complete disregard for customer services and professionalism. I have been a client of Fran's for almost 14 Years. The very first time I got my hair highlighted in USA was with her. And, I will never leave her. I get compliments on my color and style all the time. She always knows when to brighten it a little or darken it a little without me ever having to suggest it. She gives me a little conditioner pack everytime I get my color done - I think that is really nice. Take the name of the salon as a warning!! Had a haircut with Julia where she cut TWO & A HALF more inches off of my hair than I asked her to! She refused to listen to me about my hair preferences (took it as an insult when I had an opinion about MY OWN hair). For example, when I was explaining to her how I like to have my layers cut, she swatted my hand away and insulted my previous hairstylist. Definitely going somewhere else next time with someone with less of an ego and with more professionalism. read more

I have been going to Sweeny Todd for more than 10 years. At first it was for haircuts(very simple ones) but this March I met Fran! She is amazing. Super professional, very knowledgeable colorist, and overall great hairdresser. I had my color done at Noelle for much more than she charges and was very unhappy with the result. She took that mess and created a masterpiece. She knew the right questions to ask me (as in what was done to my hair previously) and how to remedy the situation. I went back 5 months later and did a repeat. Once more, my hair looked great. The colors she created were amazing and mixed so well with my natural hair color that you couldn't tell i need a re-peat. I would highly recommend Fran to anyone who needs a new and good hairstylist. read more

This place is TERRIBLE. I have never had a more horrifying experience at a salon in my entire life. The stylist I had (Dani) was uneducated to the point of not understanding how to angle and cut hair. I came in for a sew in with extensions and from the beginning she had no idea what she was doing and she also tried to overcharge me for something I didn't even ask for. I came in, my hair was unbraided and washed. Dani then put in a protein conditioning treatment I never asked for. She then told me it would be an extra 40 for that treatment. I asked her to wash it out seeing as I did not want to pay for something I didn't ask for. This became a problem and I had to consult her boss who also gave me a hard time. It was finally resolved after 10 minutes of discussion, which was totally unnecessary. Dani then braided my hair in a fashion which I specifically did not ask for. I even showed her a photo of what I wanted. She insisted that what she did would be better and would work in the hairstyle that I wanted. She started to put in the extensions and it literally went down hill from there. Everything was bumpy, sewed in odd manners that were not conducive to the look that I was going for. I pointed out the various things I did not like and she tweaked them but they were never fully corrected. At this point, my appointment was going on 4 hours, which is ridiculous. She continued, and still nothing was done right. A fellow hairstylist had to come over and correct many of the mistakes but at that point, it was still too late to fix most of the damage. The two then began to passively aggressively argue over what was correct and what was not, yanking and pulling on my hair in the process. Two hours later, I was left with uneven hair, uneven braids, and just an overall slapdash job that deserved to not be paid for. My sew-in is so terrible that I am taking it out this evening and going somewhere else tomorrow. Words cannot describe how terrible this place is. AVOID AT ALL COSTS. read more

I went to Sweeney Todd's to cut my bang, because I thought that is something that every hairstylist should be able to do. The hairstylist that I got didn't even ask me what I wanted it to look like before she started to cut it. I had to tell her twice that I wanted my bang in a different way than she was cutting it before she listened to me. And when she "finished" it was very uneven, and so I told her. She "corrected" it and when she was done it was still uneven and I had correct some by myself at home because I didn't want my bang to get shorter... read more
