I'd never been here before. Was driving along Louisiana and saw it last minute. Pulled in and thought I'd give it a try. A couple folks sitting outside enjoying coffee. Looks like they make their own bagels. I didn't have one though. I had their special French toast with strawberries and whipped cream. Also had a London Fog with espresso and blackberry flavor. I stopped by this place on my way to work this morning. The staff and atmosphere were warm and inviting. The place was well decorated, clean, and had a wide array of baked goods that looked delicious. There was a large dining area with soft jazz music playing, reminiscent of a bagel shop in NYC. Prompted by one of the other Yelp reviews, I ordered the breakfast sandwich (choice of bagel, eggs, cheese, and meat). I opted for turkey sausage on a red chile bagel. I also ordered an iced Americano since they didn't offer cold brew. The Americano was refreshingly strong and very tasty. The espresso didn't taste burnt or like the machine hadn't been cleaned in a while (you can tell). Sadly, the breakfast sandwich was underwhelming. There was a large quantity of eggs and not enough cheese, and the flavor of the red chile was overpowered by everything else. Next time, I'd like to try a toasted bagel with a cream cheese that accentuates the flavor of the bagel. read more

The food is delicious. Warm, fresh, with quality ingredients. The bagels are chewy just the way they should be. There is an extensive selection of pastry's that include but are not limited to cinnamon rolls, cookies, raspberry bars, etc. The service is the best I've experienced. Another way this establishment shines through is the variety of people you'll see here. Young families, retirees, middle aged folks (present company included). Horizon Bagels is very clean and bright, and there is a good amount of comfortably spaced seating for dine in, savoring your food and drink. We, like many others, ordered take out, but quite a few were dining in. The ordering was efficient, friendly, and 100% accurate even with 4 similar but different orders. We took two breakfast sandwiches: bacon, egg and cheese, one with cheddar cheese and green chile cheese bagel and one with pepper jack cheese and everything bagel. We loved both of them, and they are quite large. We were tempted to order the special on offer: Denver omelet on a bagel (peppers, onions, etc,), but that will be for next time. Everything is made to order and you can watch the large prep and cooking area while you wait. We also ordered two blueberry bagels, one with regular cream cheese and one with the special cream cheese which was lemon blueberry. Again, both very good, and the bagels were delicious. They also offer many different coffee drinks, and our cappuccino was tasty. Last, we took four bagels and some cream cheese to go. On this day vs yesterday,, order at two other coffee/bagel places, Horizon was 2-3 times faster. Horizon's service and wait time from order to delivery was less than ten minutes. We know this because we went to Horizon on Monday, but they are closed on Monday, so we had to resort to other places. read more

Stopped here while passing through Albuquerque on our way to Colorado and yeah this is a good bagel. I can confidently say we don't have anything like this in San Antonio TX where im from. I love that they put a very good amount of schmear on the bagel for you (none of that ridiculous little container of schmear on the side my goodness I hate that so much). Not much more to say about this. The bagel is a fantastic bagel and the schmear is the best I've had in months. It did take a good amount of time to actually get the bagel (a to go order), maybe 20 minutes. Mostly because of the line. read more

Came here over the weekend and it was plenty busy. For good reason! Plenty of choices to choose from. Their house viewed coffee was good quality. They have a very efficient system which doesn't have you wait in line for too long. There is plenty of seating and a couple of tables outside so you can bring your dog. After hearing all the buzz about this new bagel place I just had to try it! I'm really glad that I did. The bagels are delicious and big. I had a garlic bagel, a green chili bagel, and a red chili bagel with lox and cream cheese. Everything was stellar and super tasty. They weren't too busy when I got there but there was one person ahead of me and they were helped quickly, as was I. I was greeted and served immediately by a friendly and knowledgeable staff person. I didn't eat at the store but looked around and it's quite nice. It's very spacious with lots of tables and chairs and could easily handle larger crowds. They also have a few tables outside on the patio. I will definitely be going back to this place to try some of their other bagels. They have many different flavors and they also have many different flavors of schmeer, which I'd like to try. They also have some pretty good looking sandwiches, soups, quiches and other delights. Alright...here we go. I've been twice because the first time I thought maybe it was an off day since it was opening weekend...2nd time was about the same. Flavor of the bagels reminded me of raw dough. First time I went they were toasted/baked fine. 2nd time really burnt (I didn't take a photo because I didn't want to give it bad press). I like to order toasted and untoasted because I want to taste the flavor of the dough itself. I grew up in North Jersey where bagels are a big deal. This...did not remind me at all of any bagels back home. I'm sorry. I like a little chew with my bagels - these were very dry without any chew. They just crumbled in my mouth. The spread/schmear was good. Again, nothing crazy. The schmear helped combat the dryness of the bagel. I tried to decrease the dryness of the bagel with the coffee, but the coffee was really bad. I think the ratio of water to coffee was off because it was way more water than coffee. I've heard Ruth's Bagels is legit and have talked to a few people who said they still prefer Ruth's. I've never had Ruth's but it is on my radar. So try Horizon for yourself. This didn't satisfy my bagel craving. In Santa Fe there is a popup bagel bar called "Out of this World Bagel". The owner is from Vermont and his bagels have the chew and fermented dough flavor that I miss. read more

Delicious fresh bagels. My favorite are poppyseed, sesame and plain. Service is a little hit slow because they are busy. The whitefish spread is delicious but destroyed me. Having recently been to NYC, I've been looking for a cure to my bagel fix. Honestly, once this spot hits their groove, they'll probably be the best bagel spot in Albuquerque. We dropped by yesterday (Saturday) morning, and there was a line. It looks like the business took over the old Pizza 9 location. There's both seating inside and outside. Very clean interior. The staff was friendly and greeted everyone that entered. We ordered a few bagels and a bagel sandwich. The portion size of the bagel sandwich was huge. You could easily share it with someone else depending on how hungry you are. The bagel itself was tasty and didn't skimp out on the green chile. I saw someone with the matzo ball soup and it looked delicious. I definitely want to try it out next time. We waited about 30 minutes for our bagels and sandwich.
