First time I visited. Ordered a croissant, latte, Danish, and Green Chile Biscuit. The latte was good, but the pastries were awful. Danish was hard, dry and stale. Croissant was the worst I ever had. It was doughy and flavorless. It must have weighed a quarter pound. Biscuit was ok, but a bit stale. Prices were high and I will never go back. Friendly service and faces always warm up a cold morning, and we definitely got that at Los Ranchos Bakery. The menu is simple and the baked goods look great! We ordered the breakfast sandwich with bacon and green chile cheddar bagel, a lavender latte, and a red chile mocha. A cherry tart and a cinnamon roll to go. The drinks were, unfortunately, missing a few ounces and flavor. The sandwiches were smaller than I expected. The bagel had a hint of heat and chile. It was perfectly toasted and held the egg and bacon quite well. The bacon was crispy and the egg was well done. It was filling in the end. The baked goods will have to wait until tonight but I've had their scones before and they were excellent! I'm betting on excellence on the tart and cinnamon roll. Overall, this is a nice local coffee shop that can be a great alternative to a chain coffee shop. The space is nice for some work or chatting with friends and family. My friend got the iced chai with oat milk and a bacon breakfast sandwich. I got the iced chai with pumpkin and a pumpkin cookie. The cookie and the frosting were especially good, but the chai could've used an extra pump of pumpkin flavoring. I have always had a thing for Los Ranchos Bakery and when I'm in the area, I have to stop by. They've got a great selection of baked goods and really yummy breakfast sandwiches. Plus the colorful signage makes for some great pics. Staff is friendly and it's very much a local bakery. Outside of baked goods, they have really amazing drinks. Specifically in love with their iced matcha which was one of the creamiest matchas I've had and so yummy. I will note I like my matcha sweet so I got it with vanilla syrup. Seems like a popular local spot. My daughter brought me here for Father's Day to have a coffee and a cinnamon roll. The roll wasn't heated and came in a plastic clam shell. It had the texture of whole-grain bread crust with granulated sugar and a cream cheese whipped topping. The coffee was just coffee. The young guy looking to give people their orders was frazzled and condescending. They had a lot of tasty looking stuff in their display case, might have to try something else. My neighbors, love, Los Ranchos, Bakery for the sourdough bread! Me, it's usually a scone and vanilla latte. Yes, this is between my house and my office, on my regular route. The lunch menu has a variety of sandwiches to choose from. I've only tried one sandwich, the chicken salad. So far there's no reason to try any other sandwich. There's also plenty of indoor seating. Good eats here. I stop in a couple times a month to buy cookies and/or pastries for friends or for docs, dentist and/or vets before a visit. Great sweets and also lunches as well. I do love the employees at Los Ranchos Bakery, they are always supper happy and friendly. Last year for my birthday I really wanted a strawberry rhubarb pie, rhubarb was not in season so they made me strawberry lemon zest... it was amazing!!! I ordered a apple pie for my grandpa this year in april and it was so so terrible and their pies are not cheap!! The apple was so dry (dehydrated dry) and it had no filling. Super super shocked. We ordered pies for thanksgiving and it was soooo worth it! We ordered the pumpkin pie and the bourbon pecan pie. The service was super friendly and they made sure to call and confirm the pick up. I am so glad I ordered ahead of time as they stopped taking pre orders a couple of weeks ago. The pre order, payment, and pick up was very smooth and they were extremely friendly. The pumpkin pie was the best I've EVER had. It was super light and had a small spice kick as a following flavor. The crust was super soft and crunchy at the same time. The bourbon pecan pie was ridiculously delicious. Holy crap. That thing was the highlight of thanksgiving dinner. I don't usually review but this bakery/pasty shop/coffee store is spectacular. Originally called in asking for a cake only to find they make any custom cake one could want. Ended up ordering a custom cheesecake. When I went to pick it up ended up getting a scone (delicious) and a egg+bacon sandwich (6$ +1$ for avocado). Sandwich was made with their fresh baked bread and they stuffed it with avocado and 2 eggs and a good amount of thin cut bacon. Let me start by saying that my chai latte was very good, and I may just go back in for another, which is why this review is 2 stars and not 1. Unfortunately this review covers nearly $40 of pastry that could not be eaten. Food safety is extremely important. While the COVID-19 virus was not a food-borne pathogen, we had assumed that the extra effort required during the heart of the shutdowns would translate to continued vigilance by everyone in the food service industry. Our visit to the Los Ranchos Bakery today sadly destroyed that assumption. Way back in the 1990s, when I got my first job in food service, my employer at the time read us the riot act about not touching the food we were serving if we were handling payments. Eons later, when I went through nursing school, my microbilogy and pathology courses taught me all the ways that I could have killed people if I hadn't paid attention to my first employer's rule about not touching the food I was about to serve. When the lovely young lady at the counter today punched up our order on the register tablet, I didn't really think about it. But when she reached into the bakery display and grabbed each item with her bare hands, not having washed them between the tablet and the pastries, I was surprised into speechlessness. When she went on to turn the tablet (that we had touched to confirm price and tip before our order was packaged) and rang up the next sale without washing her hands or the tablet, we were completely shocked. The barista who made the chai latte wasn't handling payments or touching the foodstuffs, so we felt safe enough to enjoy that. Unfortunately, because it was the only safely handled item on our order, that makes it the single most expensive lattee I've ever had. Every item in the bakery counter looked and smelled amazing, but that means nothing if I'm too afraid of unsafe practices to eat it. read more

Tucked away on 4th Street is this place which is next door to a Medicare enrollment office. I only mentioned this cuz if you blink you might miss it. The shop is in a tiny adobe building with a few two-person tables on the side of the building. Due to Covid they only allow one party of 4 in at a time, which makes sense since the ordering area is fairly small. That aside once you're able to find parking and get inside there are a ton of delicious pastries that feel like you found little gems at the end of your quest to get here lol. The staff here is beyond pleasant - when I walked in they were playing oldies on the radio and I could hear some of the staff singing and joking along. They have all of the staple bakery yummies: cookies (like my all-time favorite biscochitos), cupcakes, pie, croissants, scones, bread (with a rotating daily bread menu) and did I mention cookies? If you happen to be driving down 4th Street (maybe a little slower than everybody else), you might want to mosey your way here and enjoy the pleasant atmosphere and tasty treats. read more

I have been following this business' social media pages for quite some time and they did a wonderful job building up the hype for me... but when I finally got to visit today for some chai tea and a pastry, they did not live up to my expectations. Customer service is horrible. The cashier looked like she was doing me a favor by taking my order (chai tea latte and one peach hand pie). By the way, I didn't realize until after I had already left restaurant, that I was given the wrong type of pie. I was given a cherry flavored one instead. It might have helped if the cashier was paying attention. The barista was just as bad. She called out my drink for pickup... I couldn't get to the counter fast enough because my toddler was grabbing hold of everything. She calls out again and as I apologize and walk towards counter, she also looked at me as if she was doing me a favor.
