Food rating: 3.5 Bf, another foodie friend, and I came here because of Yelp reviews about the pork (hornado). I was super excited! We ordered the following: 1) Quimbolitos - We actually wanted the Humitas, but they didn't have any, so we were recommended the Quimbolitos by the waitress. This was good (but I personally wasn't too impressed). They are described as "light steamed corn cakes with a hint of sweetness often sold by street vendors". The sweetness was a few pieces of chocolate. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/Gp5QySZcfRNxDIQSfT86oA?select=AcN2hK7NlfRGIIeHHyCl_A 2) Shrimp Ceviche - this was by far our favorite. All 3 of us agreed on this. MUST GET! http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/Gp5QySZcfRNxDIQSfT86oA?select=eJXaqwIwtcqQ8k6yABBNnw The shrimp was also served with the following: http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/Gp5QySZcfRNxDIQSfT86oA?select=0taCJrQbZ1DdsRM74UCWqg 3) Caldo de Bagre - Catfish Soup - I'm personally not a fan of any type of fish soup. Most fish soups I've had are too fishy. Anyway, bf really wanted this soup, so okay, I'll eat it. I must say it was really good; not fishy. It was also served with some lime on the side that I squeezed into the soup, which made it even better. YUM! http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/Gp5QySZcfRNxDIQSfT86oA?select=-2sxs5N_i9atvaG2NpW-pw 4) Hornado - I actually wasn't too impressed with the pork. The pork was too salty and tasted like the restaurant had "heated" up the pork by frying it... but I can imagine the pork tasting pretty good if I went when the pork was freshly made. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/Gp5QySZcfRNxDIQSfT86oA?select=Qc8wzx0VWwfOKP6BZm39nQ 5) Bistec Encebollado - the flavors were really good. All of us noticed how tough the meat was. Bf and I usually get steak medium rare and the other foodie friend usually get his steak medium. I would say the steak was cooked more from medium well to well. Note to self - ask them to cook the steak medium. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/Gp5QySZcfRNxDIQSfT86oA?select=pak2zSepLeTyhdsqH4yzKQ 6) Naranjilla - I asked for it to be made with water instead of milk since I can't have milk as I have gotten older. Still very good. I could imagine it being REALLY GOOD with REAL MILK in it. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/Gp5QySZcfRNxDIQSfT86oA?select=reEPvZVPEZs0ETWj9pefYQ The dining room was spacious & pretty clean. http://www.yelp.com/biz_photos/Gp5QySZcfRNxDIQSfT86oA?select=-VrC56_KthWgNXGsY6qSQg I would return for the Shrimp Ceviche, Catfish Soup, and Bistec Encebollado (but ask them to cook the steak medium). Thanks for a fun first Ecuadorian experience!

It is not authentic food. I ordered a chaulafan rice which was thick and they added sausage instead of meats but the sausage was even fully cooked. It tasted like prison food. He hadn't wasted $ 16 on flavor to make every drinker come out.

When in Queens, I have to get proper Ecuadorean food and stumbled upon this gem with my family. The menu had a lot of typical Ecuadorean dishes and it was hard to choose. So of course I ordered la Bandera Ecuatoriana, which has a little bit of everything. Succulent hornado, guatita, ceviche, mote and rice with avocado. I also ordered a quimbolito which I could have done with out. Although the food was delicious, the service was not so good. It took a while before someone came over to the table, and we were the first people in the restaurant at the time, when the server came, she wasn't very friendly. The food came out fast and hot though.

The name gives a good hint at what to order, but don't make the mistake of choosing rice instead of the more traditional hominy. Some Spanish will help. Look out for the cuy (guinea pig) on the specials board, a meal that would otherwise require three days of advance notice.

The atmosphere and ambience was warm and inviting, while people were engaging and having fun it never got too loud where you couldn't have a convo at your table. It was also still happy hour, so we enjoyed a few glasses of wine, the QR burger, and the Roast chicken breast. Both equal delicious. We also wanted to try the crab and avocado dip to share, but we weren't sure if the chips were safe for my friend to have, who has a GF allergy. Our waitress was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the menu. The waitress knew which plates could be modified to accommodate dietary restrictions which was super helpful in decision making process. Overall the food, service, and atmosphere were great. Def a nice place to check out!

The food was amazing BUT the prices were better, 5$ for a really good/solid Bloody Mary! I ordered two and forgot I was driving. Shoutout to the waiter for being creative and helping me take my Bloody Mary home. We ordered the steak & eggs and oh mannnn it was delicious, I didn't want it to end TBH. Of course, nothing is set in stone until you have a chance to try out their grub so I went there just for that. Came by here to grab some dinner and the food did not disappoint. Ambiance is real chill vibes with the edison bulb lighting going on with games around if you're looking for some entertainment. They have a covered backyard area, but wasn't able to check it out since there was an event going on. Now the food: Old Bay Fries 5/5 - Can't really go wrong with crispy fries and old bay seasoning Mexican style street corn 5/5 - Also a solid choice and pretty straight forward Chicken Crunchwrap 4/5 - Overall pretty good, but chicken itself could use some seasoning or flavor to it since you wont experience much without the side sauces Redneck Korean 4/5 - This was pretty good as well, but what would put it over the top for me is if they dipped the entire fried chicken into a gochugang sauce Overall great space and definitely a spot I'll return to regardless if I'm looking for an event space or just looking for a bite
