La comida de aquí es deliciosa
    Ariel Romeo S.

The food at Pollos A La Brasa Mario is absolutely amazing! The employees are always so friendly, attentive, and welcoming. I've been coming here since I moved to Astoria in 2019, and it's hands down one of my favorite spots for both lunch and dinner. Every dish is packed with flavor and served in generous portions. You can truly taste the love and tradition in every bite. The atmosphere is always lively, and the staff make you feel like you're enjoying a home-cooked meal straight from abuela's kitchen. I highly recommend this place to anyone who wants delicious, authentic Colombian food and phenomenal vibes. Tell them I sent you!

I took off one star for not having any soup choices at 4p in the afternoon on a Friday. Aside that this a lovely location, food & drinks were delish. I don't understand how guacamole is served w zero chips but that said the guac was well seasoned & yummy. Lots of hustle & movement, def a popular spot. Can't wait to go back & try more!

The food was out of this world. This establishment makes me proud to be Colombian! The place itself is like being there, ambiance with music included. We were greeted and then sat, nicely as we were indecisive about where. The waitress was attentive and got all our order correctly. The Bandeja Paisa is so well complemented. The beef, rice, beans, egg, avocado, pork belly, arepa and sweet plantain. All stellar flavor. Also had the ox tail soup. There was nothing left behind... and the soup comes with a plate of rice and salad. As always, a nice cold Aguila beer to finish it off. Absolutely recommend it here and we'll see you next time Mario.

Delicious rice and beans, fries lack ketchup, tostones were airy and delish but lacking a sauce dip maybe they only have rojo salsa, chicken was pretty dry and steak wasnt very seasoned or even at all, but chimichurri sauce was tasty and the server had a playful cuteness to her. Relaxing ambiance and fun bathroom, as well as decor. Mango juice was just meh(no pic sorry), but good price overall.

We ordered takeout out. The restaurant was clean. Food came to me in a decent amount of time. But the chicharron, steak and chicken thigh was very dry. I almost choked. The sweet plantains was delicious. The rice and beans was very tasty.

Great food and ambiance. Service was quick & friendly! There was a couple breaking up behind us, which was decent entertainment too.

    Fried filet of fish pescado

First and foremost, for what it's worth, this restaurant has had a consistently impressive amount of regular visitors for years. They also have always seemed to have a big volume of takeout. The times we've eaten here, it has been pretty good and the food tasting fresh. The fish was moist with a wonderfully crunchy breading. The flavor of the fish was great, without the metallic taste many places have lately, depending on their supplier. The maduros used to be better, softer and more carmelized, but are still good.

Great food, great service, great vibe! I love the big orange tree in the middle of the restaurant. I ordered the Langostinos al Ajillo (jumbo shrimp in garlic sauce) and it was soooo tasty. It came with white rice and french fries. The garlic sauce was really good, I would definitely order this again. I also got an arepa con queso on the side which was good, too. The portions are big, definitely really filling. I got a piña colada which was perfect. This will definitely be my go-to spot when I'm craving piña coladas. The noise level was fine, it wasnt loud or anything. We only had a 5 minute wait for a table. And the staff was attentive and friendly. I will definitely be coming back!

Ordered grilled chicken with fries and it was cooked perfectly. I couldn't finish it and took it home. Next day it was still good ! My gf had the Bandera Tipica and was very happy. The deep fried pork was tender. Service was also friendly.

Delicious food, excellent service- consistently good all around! You can't go wrong with anything you order on their menu. Love coming here on Sunday's... lovely ambiance, very familial, calm. The cazuela de mariscos came highly recommended by my boyfriend, and he was right! He thoroughly enjoyed his chuleta empanizado also. The sangria was strong and tasty. Buon apetit and cheers!

A solid authentic Colombian spot in Astoria ! My friend and I came here on a Tuesday afternoon. Wasn't too busy. We were seated right away and the service was great. The staff were friendly as well. My friend recommended me to try the Bandeja Típica. Also came with a tasty sauce on the side. This was a very delicious dish and everything was cooked perfectly ! After venturing through other Colombian restaurants, I have to say that by far, this restaurant made the best food. The pork skin was nice and crispy, plantains were sweet and fresh, and the food wasn't too salty. Feeling so hungry, I devoured the whole thing. All of the food was seasoned well and I felt very satisfied after my meal. The portion was also huge for a very generous price. Would definitely return and try more items on the menu. Highly recommend !

Service is okay, staff are not very fluent in English. This is a chain restaurant and the vibe and design are the same ( cool orange tree in the middle of the restaurant). This restaurant feels like a family friendly space. The food is delicious but so so filling! The portions are huge so I would share with another person. I got the Bandeja Tipica, which is a deep fried pork dish, that also comes with grilled steak which I thought was too much ( I recommend sharing this dish), the beans seemed too liquidy, and I also requested yellow rice instead of white rice. Other than the dish being overwhelming, I liked the pork and yellow rice.

I always love coming here. Came here last week around 8pm and happy to see the place wasn't super crowded. Like usual ordered the tyipical plate and a cola. I'm giving 4 stars because this place has a habit of giving the wrong bill on several occasions that I've been here. ::Bathroom Alert:: Clean but not super clean. Soap was well stocked and there was a lot of toliet paper. The waiter was very nice to my significant other and I. I would definitely come back to this location. I always recommend any typical plate because it is a mixture of everything, I loves me some avocado.

The decor is fun and pays homage to Colombian culture which I appreciated. Their specials menu had an Iced Banana Latte which is totally up my alley so I decided to try it. I usually get a latte with a syrup and I assumed this was exactly that - a banana syrup. Unfortunately, it was more like a frappe where the espresso, banana, and milk was blended together. I think it's misleading to call it a latte as it wasn't what I was expecting. And for ~$9, I just expected more richness from the espresso but the milk was just overpowering. Even based on the appearance, it was very milky/foamy rather than coffee or banana-forward. If I find myself back here, I'll probably go for their classic coffees instead.

The only…read morereason I return is because it's my grandmother's preferred restaurant since she lives nearby. We arrived around 6:20-6:30 p.m. There were plenty of open tables, but we weren't seated until much later. During that time, the male waiter seemed more concerned with other tasks. He was seating a woman whose party of six hadn't yet arrived, going back and forth to the kitchen, handing out receipts, and collecting menus. After all of that, he finally approached us--not to seat us--but to ask, "How long are you going to take?" I replied, "Sir, we're here to eat." He responded that the side tables were for people watching the game. I explained that we were there to dine, as this is a restaurant. Even after we were seated, he avoided our table completely. He took the order of a table that had been seated after us while we continued waiting. About 20 minutes later, a female waitress noticed we had not been helped and took over our table. She was attentive, professional, and the only reason we received service. After placing our order, we waited about an hour for our entrées. The food was also underwhelming. The Papa a la Huancaína came with an excessive amount of sauce and very few potatoes. The Ceviche Mixto lacked the bright citrus flavor that ceviche should have. My grandmother, who is very familiar with Peruvian cuisine, found it bland, and even after taking it home we couldn't improve it. The Bistec Encebollado was slightly too salty for our taste. The beans simply weren't to my liking, though that's a matter of personal preference. Another issue is the dining room layout. The seating is extremely tight, to the point where it feels like you're almost elbow-to-elbow with the tables next to you, making the experience feel cramped. Overall, this visit was disappointing. Between the slow and inattentive service, the long wait for food, the cramped seating, and several disappointing dishes, the experience did not justify the visit. The female waitress deserves recognition for stepping in when we had been overlooked, but unfortunately she couldn't make up for the rest of the experience.

The sweet plantains were exceptionally tasty, and despite being fried, they were not too greasy.
