The burger was amazing and the cocktails were great. The ambiance was really nice, and the service was excellent. Definitely make a reservation because it gets busy. Highly recommend!

We came here for dinner with family and had a decent experience overall. The restaurant is located in a busy area of Town & Country Village, but surprisingly it was one of the few places that wasn't packed when we visited. This place has a trendy, stylish atmosphere that feels perfect for date night, drinks with friends, or a nice night out. The space itself was probably my favorite part of the experience. The restaurant leans into an elevated New American menu and cocktail-bar vibe. As for the food... it was okay. Nothing was bad, but nothing really stood out either. I remember feeling like some of the dishes didn't taste as fresh as I was expecting, especially for the price point. The menu sounded more exciting than the actual food ended up being. The biggest thing I remember is that it just wasn't very memorable. When I think back on the meal, I remember the nice ambiance more than any specific dish. That's not necessarily a bad thing, but for the price, I was hoping for at least one "wow, I need to order that again" item. The vibe is great, but the food didn't quite live up to the setting for me. I'd be open to giving it another try, but it's not currently at the top of my list of places to revisit.

Always have a good time at Horsefeather. - Would recommend making reservations, this place gets packed in the evenings - Good spot for a date, with the family, or to catch up with a friend - Small groups are better (4 or less) as the tables are not large - They have a happy hour 3-5 pm with some options for cocktails and bites - Wide range of cocktails on the menu, beers, mocktails, and non alcoholic beer as well - The Korean fried chicken sliders were delicious and very filling! 2 can share if you're looking for a snack - The jalapeño poppers were fire, would def get again I'll be back to try more of the menu.

3.5 stars Horsefeather delivered a solid meal, though it wasn't without its quirks. The French fries were the absolute MVP--addictive and served in a massive, generous pile. I loved the cauliflower and appreciated the generous portion - a little oily though. I tried a spicy cocktail that was tasty, though surprisingly syrupy even after I requested it half sweet. The deviled eggs were OK (a bit overcooked/dry). As for the mains, the fried chicken was good but slightly drowned in honey. The mac and cheese was a bit of a letdown, reminding me of a less-inspired version of Annie's. The pasta was certainly unique, though I'm still on the fence about it. I absolutely loved the yuzu dessert (skip the chocolate) - could've eaten the entire thing on my own, it was creamy and refreshing! Despite the mixed bag, the atmosphere was great, and I'm already planning a return trip for brunch.

Sat at the bar and was served very quickly. Very good service. The place looks really cool, a little loud. I ordered the chicken with three and was told by the server - that was a really great choice - and I agree! I was here alone but I'd like to come back with a group so we can try so many things from the menu (I say "we" but I'll be sampling from everyone's plate).

Reservations recommended as they get pretty busy. We arrived for 6pm reservations on a Wednesday. Upon first arrival there were plenty of tables, but they filled up quickly. The waiter was friendly and was quick to answer questions and/or provide recommendations. We started with the fries - arrived hot and crispy. The Fried Chicken & Three arrived next - the chicken was also piping hot, crispy, and moist. As for the sides, friend noted that she wished they arrived hot like the chicken rather than lukewarm; however, they were still good. Miso Linguini - another good one. Ended our meal with the Whiskey Butter Cake as recommended by our waiter. Although it was a good butter cake, it wasn't quite what we envisioned - maybe expected it to be served warm and more like a bread pudding. The items we ordered were more than enough for the 3 of us to share. Will definitely return to try more of their menu items.

    Soft scramble + loco moco

A nice spot tucked away in Town and Country Village. Came for brunch to catch up with a friend and ordered the soft scramble and the loco moco with an over easy egg. The food took some amount of time to come out, but no complaints because it allowed us to catch up longer. The soft scramble was delicious - eggs were fluffy and not dry. The loco moco was well seasoned, the gravy was super yum and the arugula was bright! The only reason I don't give 5 stars is because while the food was good, there was no particular wow factor that would make me so inclined as to come back. Solid spot, but nothing special for me

Good food (some hit and miss, but overall good), spacious interior, and friendly staff that recommended amazing drinks (and a big plus that they're on InKind)! Great place for a date night or hanging out with a group of friends. Would definitely come back again! FOOD: Miso Linguini (10/10) - Amazing. One of the best dishes I've had all year. Super flavorful and the pasta is cooked perfectly Hanger Steak (7/10) - Tender steak with a nice red wine sauce. Potatoes and salad are a great complement as well Korean Crispy Wings (6/10) - Pretty salty but great potion size. The ranch is amazing here though. Deviled Eggs (6/10) - Solid bites, but felt it was lacking something. Roasted Cauliflower (6/10) - Huge portion but sauce was a little bit too salty and similary, felt like something was missing.

4.5 stars rounded up. Horsefeather's decor & low ceiling is giving 1970s in your favorite Aunt's basement vibes. It's cozy & weirdly familiar (even though I wasn't born in that decade.) For a menu that's a little all over the place (I mean that in the best way possible; Loco Moco *and* Chilaquiles on one menu is diabolical), every single dish we ordered was prepared just right. If you care about your waistline, do not get the Umami Fries with curried ketchup; that pile of deliciousness will have you addicted like a fiend with its tangy, savory flavoring. Deviled Eggs were standard, if not for the hint of kimchi. I didn't try the Chicken & Waffles or BLT my table ordered. I ate my fair share of Lemon Butter Prawns; a side comes with six pieces & trust me, you won't want to share. The Loco Moco was incredible -- earthy mushroom gravy over sticky sushi rice and a chuck & brisket patty. Topped with an egg (made over medium like I requested) & finished with a side of arugula salad (my favorite greens) & I was full for days (just kidding, hours.) We ordered a lightly-dressed Caesar Salad with avocado just to cleanse our palates from all the rich textures & flavors. I'll be back for dinner STAT, so please save me a seat.

Cute spot with reasonable prices. We ordered quite a few appetizers and entrees, and were impressed by the portion size. Out of the appetizers, the Korean bbq wings were my favorite, would pass on the roasted cauliflower (though portion size was sizeable) and deviled eggs next time. The entrees were the highlight - we ordered the hanger steak and miso linguini. We were especially blown away by the miso linguini, while a bit salty, it was such a flavor bomb with each bite (loved the sundried tomatoes). We got 2 rounds of drinks, while aesthetic, not very memorable. Will definitely come back if just for the miso linguini again. Side note: Parking can also be a bit hectic in this busy plaza.

Horsefeather is a modern, trendy restaurant in Palo Alto's Town and Country, offering a menu of creative dishes with Asian-inspired flavors. We tried their brunch menu, starting with the Radicchio Caesar Salad, a crunchy mixture of romaine lettuce, chicory, shaved fennel, crispy chickpeas, shaved Parmesan, and brioche croutons, all in a miso caesar dressing. The Four Egg Omelette was filled with a choice of veggies and cheese and was served with marble potatoes, roasted Brussels sprouts, and salad on the side. The Fried Chicken & Waffles came with breaded chicken and a Belgian waffle with seasonal fruit, along with matcha syrup and matcha butter, which had a striking green color but not much matcha flavor. A highlight dish was the Korean Crispy Chicken Sando, a breaded boneless chicken thigh tossed in a sweet and spicy gochujang honey and served in a brioche bun. Overall, the food here was all tasty and creative though nothing too outstanding. The prices were reasonable, and the service and setting made for a nice brunch experience.

I had been pretty excited to try this place for awhile now but disappointed by the poor service here. Came for an early early dinner on a Saturday and there was only one other party inside. My bf and I asked to sit outside to enjoy the perfect sunny weather. But that was probably a mistake because the service was so bad. After taking our appetizer order and giving us water, they forgot about us outside and didn't come to take our order for another 20 minutes. A lot of the servers inside kept staring at us through the glass but no one actually came out to help us or check in on us. After waiting so long to order, once we got our food the waitress set our food down on the edges of the table and didn't bother to place the food properly in front of us or rearrange the table. My appetizer was literally off the edge of the table and I had to move it to place it in the center myself. I don't know if I'm paying attention to little details, but Horsefeather looks like a nice restaurant to dine in and I would expect good quality service. After eating one meal for some time, our server was nowhere to be found and no one had come to check in on us if we needed anything. Then once more parties starting showing up then they remembered to come outside and ask us how the food was before attending to the new guests. For it to be really slow, almost dead inside I would have expected more attentive service. I will not be coming back here. Food was decent, I genuinely liked the miso linguine. I thought the miso butter was perfect and not too overpowering. I did have to pair it with a side of seared chicken which was actually really good and juicy. The spicy Korean fried chicken was also really good although it wasn't really crispy. The gochujang flavor was delicious though. My bf thought the poke bowl was average. I'd recommend going to another nicer restaurant in the area though.

    Hanger Steak
    Kevin T.

I highly recommend booking a reservation for earlier in the evening cause they can sellout of dishes, like mussels. You can try to walk-in and sit at the bar. My friends and I did family style because we wanted to try multiple dishes. We usually order steaks medium rare because we rather have our steaks under than overcooked. The Hanger Steak comes pre-sliced and was perfect for sharing. I recommend getting a side of their chicken (thighs) for added protein if you need to hit marcos. One of the best thighs I've had. The masa they used to make their tortillas was very good. Tacos had a generous portion of protein. The Caesar was fine. We'll definitely keep Horsefeather on our rotation.

As a speakeasy enthusiast myself I definitely agree to the fact that it is "hidden" but also it does kinda give corporate vibes a little bit - maybe we can say they "gentrified" the speakeasy experience which is honestly so funny for Palo Alto. But anyways I don't think a classification should stop you from visiting it. The food is actually surprisingly really good. We came with a pescatarian and honestly while the offerings for snacks were a bit slim, every option was really good. I feel like this was the first time where I understood the price even the the quantity is no where close to be desired. One shrimp is like $6 and I was like whoah. Drinks are interesting and different, everything on the menu from the bites to drinks have a little Japanese fusion or influence going on. We pretty much tried every small plate on the menu. Most of it was delicious, a couple were just meh (katsu was not anything special, not was the duck meatball). Other than that, and over all, would highly recommend this spot in general. Btw the bar is from the same proprietor as the restaurant Protégé (across the street). Fun little bar for some music and drinks, they even have a disco ball.
