I had two scrambled eggs, which were cooked perfectly, and the brussels sprouts and potato mix was so good that I'm still thinking about it. We've been here a few times now and I appreciate that we have never waited more than 2 minutes to be seated with a reservation. I absolutley love the various plants and succulents that adorn the walls soaking up the light that comes in from the big windows. Came here on a Saturday around 9:30 and it was already busy! We were seated right away as a party of two with a high chair, but the restaurant filled up quickly after we arrived. The service was great from start to finish. Everyone was friendly and attentive throughout our visit. The food did take a little while to come out though. One of my favorite spots for brunch in the Bay! I stopped by with some friends to catch up over brunch. Service was quick and friendly and the restaurant's atmosphere is bright and comfy. It's definitely on the pricier side but when I've been the food has been consistently tasty and fresh. What we tried: - Millionare's bacon sampler patter - comes with the original, citron, cinnamon, and rosemary flavors. This was my first time actually trying their millionare's bacon, which is a thick cut bacon coated in a sweet and mildly spicy glaze. Definitely a fun dish to share and sample - Tornado galbi omurice - soft scrambled egg over veggie fried rice, galbi, and demi-glace. Overall a solid dish, the egg is cooked to such a soft and silky texture and the galbi was so good - wish they were a bit more generous with the galbi portion size - Big hip - deep fried French toast topped with butter and fruits. My first time trying this dish as well and I really enjoyed the texture of the French toast - hearty but not overly heavy. We arrived before 11am on a Sunday, and after putting our name down on the wait list, it only took about 15 minutes before our table was ready. This was faster than expected, as we tried coming here around noon the weekend before, and the wait was over 30+ minutes before we decided to go somewhere else to eat. The omurice was okay - galbi was kinda sweet and the rice was on the wet side. The egg tasted pretty buttery. I thought the combination did not really work together. I liked the matcha moffle. The matcha cream was very good and flavorful and went well with the texture of the mochi waffle. The service was not great. I'm not sure if they were shortstaffed, but no one stopped by to take our order and we had to flag someone down. We had to ask for water. They refilled 1 person's water but not everyone else's, even though my cup was almost empty. When they dropped off the moffle, they didn't provide a knife and we had to ask for one. The server did bring us sharing dishes unprompted which was nice. The people who picked up our plates and utensils were very quick and came around more often that the server. Tip options start at 18% on the card reader, but you can customize the tip to the service you received. Ambiance - a little hard to have a conversation and talk with people at my table, we had to keep asking each other to repeat ourselves. Sweet Maple is just around the corner from me! They seem to specialize on giving an Asian-inspired twist on classic American breakfast food and are ALWAYS packed. I came here for brunch with some friends. They do an annoying thing where they won't take reservations (first come, first served) and won't seat your party until EVERYONE is present. I felt bad for being a few minutes late and my friends had to sit outside because the restaurant would not seat them! I get they want to maximize profits, but if 2/3rds of the party is there, I don't get the point of not seating them. It's just not good customer service, in my opinion. In terms of the food, it is VERY rich. Delicious, but rich. The kind of rich where you won't be hungry for a solid 5-8 hours afterwards! For my drink, I got the Ube Latte--very comforting! It's bright purple but tastes like sweet milk! For my main dish, I upgraded it "For a complete meal" where I got the Marinier (French toast) and the Millionaire's Bacon. All very decadent and rich! My friend got the Matcha Moffle and also liked it. Overall, this place does creative Asian twists on brunch and does it well. It is VERY popular....almost too congested. (So they're a victim of their own success). I am deducting one star for not seating us when a majority of the party was there and for the overall congested, busy energy...it just makes the experience a bit harried and loud (you actually have to raise your voice to talk to your friends given the general volume from all the people), as opposed to relaxing. It's Labour Day weekend and I was expecting the establishment to be inundated with clientele. That wasn't the case when I arrived with my family for breakfast, so we expected the usual customer service and food quality. Unfortunately, that was not the case today (9/6/26). My son's soda was left on the queue table of coffee carafes and forgotten because when I inquired to some rando staff member, I observed where he walked off to and the soda was left on the table where the coffee carafes were staged. This brings me to my second point. There was no designated staff for a particular sector of the restaurant, rather, it was whomever happened to be in a particular area at the time. I had at least 5 different staff members service my table, which was disconcerting since it showed a lack of care for clientele. During my meal, I observed up to 5 staff members shuffling back and forth along the window close to High Street instead of attending to tables if patrons needed anything. Trying to resolve the bill was a task in and of itself. After receiving the bill and trying several times to make eye contact with staff to take my card to resolve it, I was ignored. This is unacceptable and I had to resort to physically standing up at my table and wave the clipboard with the bill and card to garner the attention of a restaurant staff member. I'm not sure what has occurred at this establishment. But seeing a slew of new staff member faces and the typical shrinkflation of the menu leads me to suspect that management and/or ownership has changed within the past 8 months. They seem busy but we had zero complaints with service. Food came out quickly and it was so fresh. Our entire experience was about 1h (knowing this as we received a message from the street parking meter) and we did not feel rushed once. They were just on top of things. Freshly squeezed orange juice, can't go wrong. I had an order of scrambled eggs and potatoes with a side of fried chicken. The eggs were nice and fluffy. Came on a Thursday and this place was busy, but not too much to the point where we couldn't get a hold of our server. We ordered a couple of things to share, that being the Millionaire's Bacon in the Original flavor and the Big Hip, which was a deep fried French toast with Vermont maple syrup. Both yummy, the bacon had a lil sweet and spicy moment going on which I liked, and the French toast was delightfully crispy and was not greasy at all. Main courses he got the One Percenter burger and I got the Tornado Galbi Omurice. He killed the burger, so it must have been good, only "complaint" was that there was quite a bit of arugula (I disagree, probably because I got to have the extra). For my omurice, I was expecting the egg to be prepared the traditional way where its kinda shaped like a football and you slice into it and its nice and runny, but this was not that. I assume the "tornado" part of the name comes from the egg being more of a twisted delicate egg as opposed to the traditional style of preparation. Don't get me wrong, it was still delicious, but just don't expect it to be the ones that you see on Instagram. The boneless galbi that it came with had great flavor, but was just a bit on the chewy side, but nothing crazy. For drinks, we got the Tiffany Mimosa and the Champagne Garden. The Tiffany Mimosa was blue curacao and champagne with a sugar rim, which we both agreed was super sweet. The Champagne Garden had watermelon, white rum, champagne. So good, so refreshing, A perfect summer drink. In terms of ambiance, its about as brunchy as a brunch place can get, and its not too loud. It's well lit with plenty of seating, but outdoor seating seems limited. 8/10, would come back. Honorable mention: I loved their tea selection.
